Did you happen to catch the Bill O′Reilly – Laura Ingraham scuffle the other night on Fox News? It was amusing to say the least. The Leprechaun was in a lather about his referring to Rush Limbaugh as a ′bible thumper′ last week when gay marriage was the big story. Ingraham defended Rush, saying Bill was wrong for saying what he did. O′Reilly would have none of that and shouted down Laura several times during the exchange. Meanwhile, ′The Great One′, Mark Levin, was having his own issues with a Foxy News pundit. Dana ′RINO′ Perino, one of the many co-hosts of ′The Five′ said that Dr. Ben Carson is doing too many talk shows after he appeared as a guest with Levin. Back at El Rancho de Rushbo, Limbaugh dismissed the alleged O′Reilly incident as just white noise. So what on Earth is going on? Are Conservatives being slighted by the Fox News Channel?
I suppose if you are a Conservative radio talk show host with an audience several times larger than FNC at prime-time, then you might say this is no big deal. Lets face facts, Limbaugh probably earns more bread than the entire line-up of Fox News anchors and personalities combined. So Rush doesn′t care one bit about anything that the Leprechaun might say. Frankly, I would not consider Rush to be a ′bible thumper.′ Just because he supports Judeo-Christian values, at least some of them, does not make him a religious zealot. Indeed, Rush would probably be the first to admit that he is a sinner, as are we all.
So I am more amused with Mark Levin going after Dana Perino. She is a ′Bushy′ and we all know just how Conservative THEY are! Sure, shes cute but when it comes to opinions on issues, Perino is far from being any sort of ideologue. Whereas Mark Levin is as pure as the driven snow when it comes to concepts like Federalism and a constitutionally-limited republic. No safe harbors does he supply to the pragmatic. If you want to float with the rest of the algae then you are on your own with the winds and the tides.
So the Bill O-Reilly – Laura Ingraham scuffle on Fox News this week over Rush Limbaugh being a bible thumper is much ado about nothing. Perhaps O′Reilly is just looking to pick a fight for ratings? Rush doesn′t care, hardly mentioning it the other day on his mega-successful radio show. As for Dana Perino, she should not expect any love from Mark Levin. The Great One has had enough of back-benchers and pragmatists who would sell out the nation for their own profit. For them, the only truth is a lake of fire!
