The arrogance of Barack Hussein Obama knows no bounds as America′s first Anti-President is now trying to prevent our war veterans from exercising their 2nd Amendment rights. Rights for which they have sacrificed so much to protect! The Veterans Administration has been sending out letters to our wounded warriors declaring them to be too incompetent to own a gun. Even threatening to prosecute them under the Brady Law! Once again, we have another indicator of just how much contempt the Obama Administration has for our military and for our Constitution as well!
The story broke this week thanks to the good folks at the United States Justice Foundation. Many veterans had contacted the USJF informing them of the letters they have been receiving from the V.A… Veterans returning from war whom have had injuries or conditions considering them to be either physically or mentally disabled are being warned. ″A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition. If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both pursuant to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, Pub.L.No. 103-159, as implemented at 18, United States Code 924(a)(2).″
How about that?!?! I am flabbergasted! Yeah, I know Obama thinks he is some kind of New Normal Pharaoh for the 21st Century. He probably thinks the next stimulus project should be to spend a trillion dollars or two to build a pyramid in his honor. But sometimes Obama even surprises me as to just how arrogant and ridiculous he is. To go after our military veterans and deny them the natural, inalienable rights which they have given time, blood, and even body parts to in order to protect and preserve our liberty just simply goes beyond the pale of reason. This one gets a first place prize in stupidity by our Dear Leader.
To think that we have four years of this nonsense to contend with is even more troubling. I truly hope that enough members of Congress develop the necessary backbone to stop such madness. If they won′t start impeachment hearings then they damn well better do everything else possible to block any and all initiatives sprung by Obama upon our nation.
So please join in my outrage over Barack Obama trying to take away the rights of our war veterans! We must stop the Veterans Administration from declaring our wounded warriors to be too incompetent to own a gun. Once again the Obama Administration is showing just little regard they have for our military personnel, not to mention for our Constitution. Kudos to the United States Justice Foundation for bringing this outrageous action by Obama to the light of day. And to our veterans, let me say that you truly are heroes and to fear not! Many of us will stand with you in this, since, obviously, such actions will no doubt be expanded to the rest of the nation.

Outrage at him must be at an all time high – and that our elected officials allow this stuff is really where the problem is. He must be very afraid of trained professional Veterans…..He’s a legend in his own mind….

Aren’t Presidents surrounded by Top Notch ‘Advisers ‘ ?
Hasn’t anyone told this dweeb that Gun Control is a Guaranteed Political Loser ?
The Republicans will bring it to a head and a vote on the eve of the 2014 election.
Ask Bill Clinton how that works.

Makes sense…
take away the guns from the guys who are most capable of blowin your head off.

Potus looks like he’s been wearing the same pants for three days. Michelle, meet iron.
Back on topic.. our president is an idiot, that we all know. As always he makes political nonsense out of serious issues.

“our president is an idiot, that we all know. ”
I’m willing to bet the “we” you were referring to are only the last 4 comments.
One of my many regrets in life, or death, depends how you look at it,is that I wont be here a 100 years from now to see what the history books say. If hes among one of the greats, or like Carter, the standard of failure is something I’m curious to know.

So if they are deemed “incompetent” they cannot have a firearm.
Considering the incidence of PTSD and the significant mental difficulties of our returning troops, is this unreasonable?
1 in 8 report PTSD (and it is known to be underreported) on top of a 30% rate of depression in addition to increasing numbers of early onset dementia would probably suggest that a firearm may not be the best idea at this particular time.
Another emerging medical problem is the number of repeated and undiagnosed concussions suffered by troops and the increased wide array of medications they are being prescribed to manage the conditions associated with repeated concussive events
Through no fault of their own, many of these troops are simply not at their best in the time subsequent to their return.
So the problem is what, exactly? That not enough people deemed as incompetent can have a loaded gun at the ready?

These individuals were in an impossible situation and many of them were in the field way too long. At the time I was drafted at least we all knew that you “only” had to survive for 12 months in Vietnam. That was it.
For most of its personnel as the steady build-up progressed, Army eventually established the in-country tour length at 12 months. This required tour length applied to both enlisted men and commissioned officers, and equally to Regular, Reserve and National Guard soldiers. The Marines were required to serve 6-month tours, but were given incentives to serve for 13-months.
Many of these poor kids have had to serve numerous tours in a horrible environment.
I can only imagine how the isolation affects them. When not engaged in combat we had some semblance of a life in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City). There were bars, women, entertainment, etc.
The boredom and fear these young people endure must be literally “mind-numbing”.

“Considering the incidence of PTSD and the significant mental difficulties of our returning troops, is this unreasonable?”
Nice try Buzz, typical moonbattery.
Pick out the few exceptions to the rule as if justified when were already trying to declare levels of mental competence for gun ownership among non vets.
This is somewhat redundant seeing as how if this administration got its sht together it would implement the same competency standards to every gun owner regardless of serving at one time or not.
You cant help but wonder why they’re drawing up standards of mental competence for our vets quicker than they’re drawing up legislation to prevent any and every loon from owning a gun.
Our gun violence is not a problem brought by vets, AR 15s and other rapid fire arms.
Its brought mostly by “ALL MENTALY INCOMPETENT PEOPLE”
sO, ITS SAFE TO SAY THAT ONCE AGAIN, THE pRESIDENT AND PARTY OF EQUALITY, IS PICKING ITS EQUALS TO SUIT ITS AGENDA.
dONT BE SURPRISED IF IN THE NEAR FUTURE WE SEE THIS ADMINISTRATION TRY TO DECLARE ANYONE NOT VOTING DEMOCRAT AS MENTALLY INCOMPETENT.
No, I’m going back n fixing the all caps.

“You cant help but wonder why they’re drawing up standards of mental competence for our vets quicker than they’re drawing up legislation to prevent any and every loon from owning a gun.”
Perhaps because of the high incidence of mental disorders?
February 24th, 2013 at 7:40 pm
Impeached?
For what, exactly?
February 24th, 2013 at 9:15 pm
I’d impeach for the shameless additional public debt he’s accumulated. It’s a form of treason against the best interests of the USA.
February 24th, 2013 at 10:30 pm
Micky;
“You cant help but wonder why they’re drawing up standards of mental competence for our vets quicker than they’re drawing up legislation to prevent any and every loon from owning a gun.”
Buzz;
“Perhaps because of the high incidence of mental disorders?”
Another dishonest repose.
Let me simplify this for you.
Everyone seeking gun ownership or even those owning them as we speak should be given pysch evaluations.
Not just vets.
I already pointed out how most incidents are committed by loons.
So, why you felt you had to repeat or reiterate that for me probably means you just want to argue instead of resolve future redundancy by the administration that targets only one demographic.
Do you not agree that one piece of legislation applying the same requirements of ownership/possession to everyone is sufficient ?
Are we not addressing mental health in the congressional gun control negotiations ?(actually its a good question)
If not, why are only vets being required per Obamas law to prove competence before legislation proving competency for all is enacted ?
Sheesh.. I hope that covers enough to steer me clear of anymore ridiculous responses.
February 25th, 2013 at 7:06 am
Prior to some court decisions in the late 1950s and early 1960s, people determined to be mentally incompetent were not allowed to vote nor sit on juries. I suppose Buzzbee would welcome a return to those days as well? Especially since the power to vote is far more of a public use of force than simply owning a firearm.
Then we have the issue of who determines mental incompetency and the criteria for such? The Obama administration has proven itself to be far too political to make such determinations. Remember how Janet Napolitano decided that veterans were a threat? The stupidity of the Obama administration just never ends.
February 25th, 2013 at 8:07 am
“people determined to be mentally incompetent were not allowed to vote ”
And retards elected retards anyway.
I agree with you Andy that the vote is a means of force having disastrous consequences at times.
That would be mostly because of a collective nature unless a win is decided by only a few individuals.
Then again one could argue that most blue states are full of nuts as it is.
But, I see mental competency being a needed requirement of all gun owners for the fact that most of these mass murderers are solo individuals whos one decision has much more impact than any one voters decision ever could.
What pi$$es me off is this targeted approach we see being aimed at certain members of society when no one asks why these laws shouldnt be applied to everyone.
Are there any laws that vets are presently not held to ?
If mental competency laws are to become more stringent is there some belief somewhere that only vets would be exempt ?
Seriously, why are these letters not being sent to everyone ?
You and I know the answer.
And where are the liberal cries for equality. fairness ?
February 25th, 2013 at 8:13 am
I know, Micky. Obama has a two-for going because not only is he trying to prevent our military personnel from owning firearms, unless they are Muslim radicals planning on workplace violence, but he has also worked to prevent our troops from voting, too! Barely 20% of our overseas troops were able to cast ballots in 2012. Disgraceful!!!
February 25th, 2013 at 9:30 am
Two-for n more.
About a million DOD and military will be loosing their jobs,or be furloughed in a week.
I guess we’ll just have to wait for N. Africas rabid crack monkeys to organize another 911.
Or N. Korea bombs S. Korea, or Iran sends its love to Israel… or the Chinese find Obamas password.
February 25th, 2013 at 10:05 am
The left want to take away guns so that the average citizen cannot protect themselves from the government. Right to have arms is defense from the government. Liberals want total control and guns do not allow it.
February 25th, 2013 at 10:58 am
“I wont be here a 100 years from now to see what the history books say. If hes among one of the greats, or like Carter, the standard of failure is something I’m curious to know.”
An interesting question because the victors write the history books. If liberals succeed in transforming society into a mediocre socialistic state controlled by a powerful central government, Obama will be considered great because that is all people will know in the future. But if we return to American values of self-determination, work and prosperity, he will be considered one of the worst. Far worse than Carter who was incompetent but did not expand the welfare state. More like a Johnson, whose mistakes needed to be undone.

Which is why my son n daughter will be some of the best informed before I croak.
February 27th, 2013 at 8:04 pm
The last sentance says it all…that will no doubt be extended to us all. The gov’t is really good at convincing the sheeple thats its motivation to do certain things is to protect us. They dont care about us!! They care about their adgenda only. They know they need to disarm us to truly enslave us!! They want to quickly disarm vets ,they have knowledge and training that they can use to organize regular citizens against the tyranny and total dominance over us that they seek. Our gov’t is corrupt and owned by the globalists, but, they are all ‘ in the club’ and will live well while the rest of us suffer as our standard of living is brought down to that of a third world country.
