The most talked about event from this week′s State of the Union address was when Florida Senator Marco Rubio reaches for water in the middle of his response speech. Viewed by some as the ′Republican Savior′, Rubio is already a leading contender for the 2016 presidential campaign. The content of his speech was generally good, touching on many of the differences between the Republican Party and Barack Obama and the Democrats. Rubio even injected some hometown, West Miami, examples to show the world that he comes from humble, Middle Class origins and still is untainted by the power of being a member of the United States Senate. But is the GOP already setting itself up for another disappointing failure in the search for the next Ronald Reagan?
Rubio is attractive on many levels. Despite the water bottle gaffe, which one would think should have been staged better after the Paul Ryan debate with Joe Biden, Rubio is a reasonably good speaker. His prime-time speech at the National Republican Convention was certainly a launch pad for a presidential run in 2016. But in the end, neither that speech, nor his SOTU response, truly held anything memorable. Both speeches were a tad long and touched on too many subjects. As we have learned in 2012, the Low Information Voter can only handle so much for a very short amount of time.
The excuse for when Marco Rubio reaches for water during the SOTU speech is that he had already taped an 18-minute speech in Spanish to pander to Hispanic voters. So his 20-minute English version was drying him out under the hot TV camera lights. While you will get no argument from me that Rubio would make a far better president than Barack Hussein Obama, or any other Democrat contender for 2016, is he really the Republican Savior? Come on, be serious! I′m sure the folks in West Miami would be excited, but there is already an issue of him not being a ′Mexican-Hispanic′, which makes up the majority of the Hispanic voting block that everyone is so keen on winning now. Most Cuban-Americans vote for Republican Party candidates now as it is. So if Karl Rove and others in the GOP Establishment think Rubio will break the ice and win Hispanic votes, they may be sadly mistaken. Too bad hardly anybody is talking about Rand Paul′s Tea Party response to Obama, which may be viewed below.

February 14th, 2013 at 11:35 am
So typical of the left. Rubio who has rational ideas is evil because he is a Cuban-Hisbanic that drinks water. He had a good message and the left know it. Point out the race and water drinking. Get the nation off the message and on the appearance. That is how Soul Alinski taught his desciples the left to brain wash the public or useful idiot inorder to destroy the sytem. The left is so predictable it is becoming very boring.
Obama and the L.A. Cop killer are heroes in the left’s world of logic. Destroying is the left’s manifesto. That is Obama’s and the Democrats Way. Individual responsiblity is evil.
Rubio is a treat because he wants to build up this country and is interested freedom. That is threat to the left.
February 14th, 2013 at 12:37 pm
“Obama and the L.A. Cop killer are heroes in the left’s world of logic.”
I have mentioned that you can use Google to support almost any conjecture, but the LA cop killer is a hero to the left?
Well allrighty then.
What kills me is that I have no doubt that some comments will follow that support that premise. They will be nonsensical, but that won’t matter.
February 14th, 2013 at 12:45 pm
I was hoping the GOP would choose an unelectable candidate, such as Jeb Bush or Sarah Palin, but Rand Paul? Even better.
He only opens his mouth to change feet, with the difference being he is not saying ridiculous things by mistake.
Heck, he is worth it for the entertainment value alone.
Rubio may be electable, although if his name was Smith I doubt he would be under consideration. They may also have to inject him with some charisma.
By the way, did the left give him a hard time about the water gaffe? I think the right was more critical about this meaningless moment.
February 14th, 2013 at 2:22 pm
Gaffe ?
Sht man, the guy reached for a glass of water for crusts sake. !
Jeeeeeeeeeeeez ! BFD !
February 14th, 2013 at 2:31 pm
“What kills me is that I have no doubt that some comments will follow that support that premise. They will be nonsensical, but that won’t matter.”
Actually, the left has supported all kinds of sinister evil b@stards on death row.
Murdering terrorists are “freedom fighters”.
Tookie Williams murdered many gangland style, sold tons of crack, numerous assaults, and then is redeemed because he writes a kids book making him a hero to the left.
ACLU took a crack at defending NAMBLA.
Bill Ayers is a leftist hero.
Thats just off the top of my head.
Then of course theres the moonbat rappers who sell millions of CDs boasting of capping a cops ass.
Its not that far fetched Buzz, your partys a piece of work man
February 14th, 2013 at 3:34 pm
Its not that far fetched Buzz, your partys a piece of work man
He’s right Buzz. If only we had a more reasonable spokesperson…. like Ted Nugent or Todd Akin.
February 14th, 2013 at 4:07 pm
I stated that I don’t see any support of the L.A. Cop Killer and I get that response?
It kills me on this site, you comment on one thing and get responses that are entirely off point.
February 14th, 2013 at 7:52 pm
Yeah, the comments on mainstream sites run about 50-50 in support of the killer. Never try to gauge public sentiment by monitoring website comments! Liberal commenters are mostly Marxists, anarchists, and kooks.
February 14th, 2013 at 7:58 pm
So for example I just turned to the latest Yahoo News story on the killer here:
http://news.yahoo.com/burned-remains-idd-fugitive-ex-cop-dorner-000050273.html
2nd comment: “I may not agree with the way it all went but, he stood up the best way HE thought he could. Proper channels didn’t work. More people need to do the same thing. Put real fear in the law enforcement so maybe they think twice about how civilians are to be treated. Just sayin”
February 14th, 2013 at 8:13 pm
50-50 in support of the killer?
I truly give up.
There is no position that can be taken as there is a place on the Internet that will literally support anything.
February 14th, 2013 at 8:24 pm
Funny how the LibProgs get bent out of shape over Rubio taking a drink of water but NOT a word over what their “savior” “God” “Daddy” “Santa Claus” was doing on September 11,2012.FOUR dead Americans in Benghazzi and BillyRay was shooting hoops?
If an American ambassador was murdered under GWBush—-the LibbyProgs would be screaming in meltdown mode.
Pathetic.
Woody Wilson and Saul Alinskee are so proud of you moonbats.
February 14th, 2013 at 8:26 pm
A commenter on Yahoo equates to “50-50 in support of the killer” because Patrick says so- among many many other utterly ridiculous things.
Micky, I finally agree with you on something. A sip of water is not a gaffe. And even if it was, the guy was sweating almost profusely so what’s wrong with a swig of water anyway? I give the guy credit for not pissing his pants.
February 14th, 2013 at 8:33 pm
Yeah just read thru that thread and you will get it. Lotta liberal quacks out there commenting on websites, just imagine?
The MSM is covering this disturbing angle of the story, like in news reports here:
http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2013/02/08/support-growing-for-former-l-a-officer-accused-of-killing-spree/
February 15th, 2013 at 6:49 am
Liberal Democrat and Columbia U. professor Marc Lamont Hill seems to think that the L.A. cop-killer’s rampage was “exciting”!
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2013/02/13/marc_lamont_hill_dorners_exciting_rampage_like_watching_django_unchained_in_real_life.html
He’s not alone as many people rally around Dorner on various Facebook pages like “WeAreAllChrisDorner” and Dorner’s own page.
Here is what Prof. Hill thinks about Dorner:
“This has been an important conversation that we’ve had about police brutality, about police corruption, about state violence,” said Huffington Post Live host and Columbia University professor Marc Lamont Hill. “They were even talking about making him the first domestic drone target. This is serious business here. I don’t think it’s been a waste of time at all. And as far as Dorner himself goes, he’s been like a real life superhero to many people. Now don’t get me wrong. What he did was awful, killing innocent people was bad, but when you read his manifesto, when you read the message that he left, he wasn’t entirely crazy. He had a plan and a mission here. And many people aren’t rooting for him to kill innocent people. They are rooting for somebody who was wronged to get a kind of revenge against the system. It’s almost like watching Django Unchained in real life. It’s kind of exciting.”
February 15th, 2013 at 9:04 am
As I stated, the Internet will support any position. Yup, 50-50 liberal support. that sounds about right? I mean, why wouldn’t they support Dorner?
I am always suprised; your distaste for people that don’t share your opinion is truly maniacal.
February 15th, 2013 at 9:59 am
Buzzbee, it should be obvious by now that the sole objective of the writers here is to promote their deep seated hate agenda of President Obama and Democrats regardless of logic or reality. Their “distaste for people that don’t share” their opinion is simply a knee jerk reaction to someone injecting logic into their irrational arguments.
Take Patrick’s shoot from the hip matter-of-factly assessments. They have no merit or validity yet they have to be true because, well, I guess because Patrick says so, or something.
Consider the obsessions with Michelle’s “fat butt”. We all know that the 1st Lady isn’t in the legislative process, doesn’t set policy, and has no vote. Yet under the premise of political punditry, she’s subject to constant ridicule. So is the real issue political leadership, unwanted policy, or legislative consequences or is it they just don’t like the folks the country elected?
The distaste for people that don’t share their opinion is indeed as you say, truly maniacal. But that same distaste has been exposed time and time again for the same people regardless of their opinions. If unemployment goes to 1%, GDP goes up 4%, and gas drops to $1 a gallon, do you think they’d give Barack an attaboy? Likewise, if Michelle came up with a cure for all cancers at no cost to tax payers, wouldn’t that “distaste for people” who cheered her still exist?
February 15th, 2013 at 10:35 am
Too bad, Ronald, that under Obama, unemployment is still around 8%, unless you look behind the curtain and see that it is really closer to 11%. GDP is barely growing at 2% a year. Gasoline is still about double since Obama took office.
Given that his 2nd term agenda is no different than that of his 1st term, I seriously doubt if any attaboys will be called for. Especially when he is proposing an extra $800 Billion in spending which Obama claims will not cost us one thin dime! Talk about being delusional…!
February 15th, 2013 at 12:12 pm
Buzz;
“I stated that I don’t see any support of the L.A. Cop Killer and I get that response?
It kills me on this site, you comment on one thing and get responses that are entirely off point.”
Exactly on point.
The left is idolizing this guy and if you can see how this is happening you’re not too bright.
Period.
So I gave you some examples.?
Whats your next irrelevant gripe ?
Never mind, you’ll probably protest that question in itself as an improper response.
February 15th, 2013 at 12:58 pm
“The left is idolizing this guy”
WHERE?
There is no “idolizing’ this guy.
You are telling me if a few of the billions of people on Facebook say positive things about him, the left is idolizing him?
Gee, do you think there are some people on the right that are also making comments on one of their billion Facebook pages.
1. Come up with a premise
2. Scour the Internet for a comment or two
3. State it as fact
4. Declare victory
5. (if needed)Ignore any evidence to the contrary.
Simple
February 15th, 2013 at 1:28 pm
And that Andy, somehow rationalizes your constant attacks on Michelle as well as your obvious “distaste for people that don’t share your opinion”?
Actually, you evasively ran from the argument, which is nothing new at all.
February 15th, 2013 at 1:45 pm
“There is no “idolizing’ this guy.”
Of course there is.
Only a blind deaf idiot would say that.
Its all over the internet, and a few news outlets have had guests patting him on the back for standing up to “THE MAN”.
February 15th, 2013 at 1:48 pm
“1. Come up with a premise
2. Scour the Internet for a comment or two
3. State it as fact
4. Declare victory
5. (if needed)Ignore any evidence to the contrary.
Simple”
Yeah, btching about the trip instead of the arrival is all you do.
You’re wrong, there are people idolizing him whether you like it or not, grow up.
February 15th, 2013 at 3:14 pm
It’s not at all hard to find threads filled disgusting comments for just about any tragic event. From here it’s easy to draw the line between what you find and *all* people of that particular political persuasion.
For example, when Gabby Giffords was shot it was quite easy for me to find disgusting comments. I found one thread where the number of nasty posts outweighed everything else by a fairly large margin.
Does this mean that 60% (or some other arbitrary percentage) of Republicans support the shooter? Of course not, unless you have a mind as small as someone like Patrick’s.
People like Patrick live in a crazy world far from reality. In his mind he is surrounded by commie Marxist socialist blah blah blahs. Nothing will change that, it’s just how his unstable mind operates and no matter what angle you go at it, he will never see the light from anything that doesn’t support his rigid political ideology. It’s stupidity with equal parts stubbornness. But he will never understand that, so he will continue to vomit his stupidity every chance he gets, spreading it like a disease.
February 15th, 2013 at 4:30 pm
You poor liberals are very confused. As I mentioned, the comments on websites are way way disproportionally supportive of this killer. I gave an example thread and an article from CBS about this fact. The mistake you are making is believing that liberal website commenters reflect mainstream liberal thought, and therefore this observation cannot be true because half of liberals don’t think this way.
We know that already.
February 15th, 2013 at 4:31 pm
Oh, and Snow is banned for violating the comment policy.
February 15th, 2013 at 4:45 pm
Patrick’s # 25 reminds me of grade school cowardly bullies. They would pride themselves on their ability to dish it and fold like a cheap table when subjected to taking their own medicine.
February 15th, 2013 at 5:04 pm
Ronny Jay !
I know our side is winning on the macroscopic by the hysterical edge that is creeping into the postings of you and your comrades.
I fairly roll in the squalling misery of you queefs.
And Remember :
‘ Ah Will Give Up Ma Gun
When They Pry It From
Obama’s Nasty Ass ”
February 15th, 2013 at 9:24 pm
What did he violate?
So “some” people can call others idiots, morons, stupid and a$$holes, but what exactly did Snow do?
What happens to liberals on this site? Klo, Ron M., “Me”, now Snow Crash and many others?
Is it really true that you really only want to have a gang of 8 people sitting around saying, “You’re right, no, you’re right, no, you’re right”?
Oh, heck, I am banning myself for a week.
Banning Snow Crash for what amounts to nothing is simply petty.
You really need to put a new title on the “comment policy”.
“Comment Policy for People that Disagree with the Politics of the Site”. For the rest of you, anything goes, obscenity, name calling, charges of dishonesty, speaking in ebonics when referencing the President, don’t worry about it.
How narrow-minded. Wow, it is a good thing there aren’t a lot of you guys. I can only imagine who you would really elect if given the chance. Many of you think Karl Rove is a moderate. Crazy as loons.
See ya.
I am going to spend the week with people that believe in evolution and know that the Earth is round.
February 16th, 2013 at 5:53 am
Buzz,
If you actually read the RCP article I posted a link to, you would see two examples of the thousands of Twitter comments lionizing Dorner as a hero. You may also follow the links from that article to the Facebook pages and see even more.
As for how the Left educates and justifies such killers, another example is that of Nkosi Thandiwe, an anthropology major who shot 3 white women, killing one, and claiming he was taught in college how evil the White race is.
http://www.ajc.com/news/news/crime-law/thandiwe-admits-to-shooting-my-mind-was-blank/nWBB2/
Here is a quote from the article:
“I was trying to prove a point that Europeans had colonized the world, and as a result of that, we see a lot of evil today,” he said. “In terms of slavery, it was something that needed to be answered for. I was trying to spread the message of making white people mend.”
Uh-huh!
February 16th, 2013 at 6:21 am
Buzz,
These people you will be spending the weekend with, who believe in evolution and the world being round. Do they also think that a human fetus is NOT a human baby? That it is merely just some pile of tissue with no personality, no individual uniqueness and no potential?
February 16th, 2013 at 8:04 am
It’s not at all hard to find threads filled disgusting comments for just about any tragic event. From here it’s easy to draw the line between what you find and *all* people of that particular political persuasion.
Were not talking about threaders as much as we are those with much larger voices.
I’m sure theres right wing anarchist gun nuts who also think Dorner is a hero but their voices are obscured by the bigger picture of public figures like Marc Lamont Hill who seemed to be smittin with just how many support Worner. Hill himself did not in any way condone Worners actions, but sure seemed impressed with Worners heros status to the point where the attention he was giving that status outweighed the attention the victims were getting.
Same goes for those jerks on MSNBC who were complimenting him on his genius, tenacity, justifiable rage at alleged workplace discrimination conspiracies.
As I’ve pointed out already…weve seen the left, more than anyone, come to the aid of monsters like this in some form or fashion before.
One bunch who fits this mold is those idiots Jodie Evans and Code Pink who are sympathetic to terrorists no matter whos in office.
When Jodie was camped out in front of Bushs ranch for weeks/months she was the poster girl for the left. Now that shes attacking Obama for drone attacks the left doesnt know what the hell to do with her.
And how can we ever “not” use Bill Ayers as a perfect example of the left idolizing cop killers and domestic terrorists ?
February 16th, 2013 at 8:17 am
Andy, didja hear that idiot physcologist on OReilly who said the mother smoking crack 2 days before delivery could not of transferred the drug to the baby ?
These morons will fck up a baby at any stage of developmental and not give a sht.
Rust me, being in the sobriety business I’ve seen “HUNDREDS” of babies born damaged for life or addicted and myself for 3 years took care of a 5-8 year old boy with fetal alcohol syndrome.
That btch should lose her license for saying something that was absolutely dangerous.
February 16th, 2013 at 9:26 am
Andy, you really exploit the abortion issue for all you can don’t you. It’s as if, as I’ve argued on oh so many occasions, some get-out-of-jail-free card for anytime your argument goes sour, which is often. Ironically, Roe V Wade was a product of a predominantly all old white male Republican controlled Warren E. Burger SCOTUS in 1973. Remember when Nixon even said “There are times when an abortion is necessary, I know that. When you have a black and a white”. Why do you guys struggle so with history? You casually bypass most every GOP President with only the possible exception on Reagan, who raised taxes 7 times and exploded the size of government-and also supported fetus slaughter when it was politically cool only to flip flip when the political winds shifted.
And even your invented Dorner argument doesn’t compared to the shear vile spewed from Right wing commenter when Ted Kennedy died or in the Trayvon/Zimmerman ordeal.
And like Buzzbee, I too would be interested in knowing precisely what violation Snow is guilty of and the justification of whatever cherry picking process you have. I’ve been subjected to Micky’s constant harassment and constant vulgar and obscenne insults with a clear admission that his intent is to stalk me yet I’ve been banned for insulting other commenters. He can reference a sitting POTUS as a “dickhead” yet I get banned for saying “teabagger” even though it’s a name they gave themselves-and I was using in context as an example of Micky’s hypocrisy.
Like Buzzbee, I think I’ll take off a week or 2 as well. I’ve become quite board of shooting fish in a barrel and you guys have pretty much jumped the shark of reality since you got your asses handed to you in the election, not that you were much better prior. You’re no longer even a challenge. Patrick has pretty much emulated Micky, thus disqualifying his gibberish, you’re just too easy to debunk, Arriba thinks Palin can win, and the rest are pretty much exposed sockpuppets.
Aside from a bunch of angry white males with an infatuation of Michelle Obama’s butt, there’s really not much left here.
February 16th, 2013 at 7:58 pm
Isn’t Michelle Obama’s fat ass a big enough topic for any man?
February 17th, 2013 at 5:32 am
Have a nice vacation, Ronald, since we are “board” with you, too!
February 17th, 2013 at 5:37 am
Micky,
No, I did not watch O’Reilly that night. But, sadly, such stories do not surprise me.
February 17th, 2013 at 7:50 am
Ward;
“He can reference a sitting POTUS as a “dickhead” yet I get banned for saying “tea bagger” even though it’s a name they gave themselves-and I was using in context as an example of Micky’s hypocrisy.”
Attacking a dickhead is not as bad as attacking good decent Americans who’ve never done one wrong thing to me.
Simple enough ?
And no, you pathetic liar…
…the Tea Party did not call themselves “Tea baggers”
Matter of fact it took a while for the Moonbat media to discontinue using the phrase as its connotations were too disgusting for general viewers.
Why you think any political enterprise such as the Tea Party would give themselves such a name is the perfect example of the sht you pull out your ass and why liars and plagiarists like you get absolutely no respect from me, and many others.
SCs problem I’ve noticed in the last couple years, is to go right after the editor in chief of RP with personal attacks.
Its kinda like kickin the doorman in the nuts… you’re probably not going to get in the club.
In tooting my own horn, I guess the reason I stay is because I rarely make statements that can be backed.
I dont accuse people of sht I cant prove.
When people treat me like sht by proxy of condescending elitist snobbery that finds some pedantic reason to disqualify my being sane or logical enough to continue the debate, I usually give them analogies consistent with their behavior.
You Ronald, like many libs, are analgeous to ass holes. Not so much because youre clueless but because a lotta sht comes outta yer pie hole.
The abortion thing is hard to ignore as its the prime foundation in liberal hypocrisy that parallels so many other examples, but in different issues.
“Save the animals, no one need die in a war.
But hey, that little human baby is in the way…kill it”
“Abort that child ! Its bad for the earth.
“If we cant kill them in the first trimester, well kill em with crack two days before birth.
“I’m a liberal Catholic, who votes for people who support infanticide, and say God is un-provable.”
“I’m a liberal Jew, who votes for people who either dont like or love Hamas or hate Israel, and say God is a Pasta monster”
Liberals legalize marijuana.
And then when you’re all stoned and dying for a quadruple cheese&bacon burger with a 64 ounce Coke and a gallon of Hagen Daaz you CANT GET IT ANYWHERE BECAUSE LIBERALS MADE THEM ILLEGAL !!!
February 27th, 2013 at 2:02 pm
Yeah Micky. Preach it brother! As for having any discernible effect; good luck. You can lead a donkey(democrat/liberal) to the gubmint assistance office but you can’t make ‘em think.
February 27th, 2013 at 3:31 pm
How you doin Craig ?
Sometimes any needed effect goes right out the window when guys like Ron pi$$ me off to no end.
I re-read these posts I’ve written when I’m thoroughly beside myself and am a little embarrassed at the typos due to loss of composure.
Kinda like when you’re btching out your kids at the dinner table and you start stuttering and spitting food all over the place.
If its worth it I’ll post corrections.
That ass hole aint worth it.
Dont be a stranger.
We need more voices like yours
