With less than 25 days to go, the Fiscal Cliff of 2013 draws ever closer as Barack Obama continues his mad agenda of seeking the scalps of the rich. Or so he says. Forget for a moment what the fiscal cliff means to you and the rest of the average Americans. A failing economy, higher unemployment, higher taxes and arbitrary cuts to defense. Obama claims that he will not sign any bill that does not increase the tax rates on the wealthiest 2%. Last year, or even last month during the reelection campaign, Obama was content to just scalp the top 1%. But that would only add extra revenue for maybe 3 days of the federal budget. Going after the top 2% means funding a whole week of 7 days! But even this will not be enough, as Howard Dean admitted on Wednesday. He said that everyone′s taxes must be increased.
Already there is plenty of talk about creating a new wealth tax, which would tax 1% of all of the assets of the top 1%. If you study history, which the Liberals frown upon, then you might come to discover that originally, the federal income tax passed in 1913 was only targeting those who earned over $1 million dollars per year. Barely 200 Americans were to be subjected to the tax. It did not take Congress very long to expand their tax net on the rest of us. Likewise, today, some who are in favor of the wealth tax are also eying all 401K and IRA retirement funds. Assets that over half of the population have.
Revenue is revenue. House Speaker John Boehner is offering closing loopholes and limiting some deductions which only the top 27% of income earners use when the file their tax statements. The total amount of just the loopholes is about $1.1 Trillion per year, courtesy of two groups over major contributors to the Democrats, lawyers and CPAs. So is it any wonder that Obama is rejecting the $800 Billion Boehner has placed on the table?
Naturally, Obama will not discuss any spending cuts just now. That will have to wait till next year after he gets back from his $4 Million dollar vacation. Obama will spend in 3 weeks what 99% of Americans will never earn in their lifetimes. But he deserves it now, doesn′t he? After all, who works harder than Barack Hussein Obama? Forget about how he does not do anything in the White House until about 10am, then skips half of his national security briefings because he is just so smart and clairvoyant when it comes to intelligence reports.
But we cannot call Obama lazy or incompetent because that would be racist. It is probably also racist if we say that Obama merely wants to tax the rich because as a Socialist, he hates them so much. Or that he really does not care if he plunges America off the Fiscal Cliff, because that would give Barack Obama more of an excuse to further expand government. More people will need their hammocks as supplied by the Welfare State. The only way Obama can keep the game going is to have an unlimited checkbook which means going around the Constitution, the law of the land, and seizing the power to increase the nation′s debt ceiling. With no debt limit to worry about, Obama can spend all the money he wants and he′ll have plenty more to spend anyway thanks to the taxes in his ′Affordable Care Act′, a.k.a. ObamaCare.

Andrew, you’d present a much better argument if you’d focus more on dialog than diatribe. Cherry picking history (which I’ve laid out several time here, is not in your favor) to build your economic/taxation case is pretty weak tea and can be (and has been) shot down on every front. After over a decade of Bush cuts implementation, you really have no argument at all. And that’s aside from the proven results of the 1982 Reagan and 1993 Clinton tax increases, which I’ve laid out in detail which you’ve consistently avoid.
You advocate Boehner’s closings of unnamed loopholes and limiting “some” deductions of the top 27% as an $800 billion revenue which doesn’t make a great deal of sense. You are arguing against your very own argument. Taxing the wealthy as you say, will reek havoc as it will bring a “failing economy, higher unemployment, higher taxes and arbitrary cuts to defense”. But collecting more revenue from these very same people by closing loopholes somehow changes things? And these same rich folks are fighting tooth and nail any tax increases yet remain silent about having loopholes closed that will increase their tax burden by $800 billion. That would make absolutely no sense if the reality wasn’t there that no one can tell us what these loopholes are and even if they did, there aren’t enough to satisfy the math. This is snake oil salesmanship at its worst, an absolute scam that American voters have adamantly said no to. It’s as if the GOP doesn’t even want to pretend to be honest.
Harping on Obama’s vacation does nothing to build your case. Comments like “he’s a socialist” and he hates us so much only suggests either that your blind hatred overrides any constructive reasonable discussion or that your argument is so feeble, it needs a diversion in order to forget how unrealistic it is. It’s as if adding “he really does not care if he plunges America off the Fiscal Cliff” helps to change the dialog and builds an imaginary case because your original argument has no legs to stand on.
And by the way, and I understand that reality is such a bitter slap in the face, the Affordable Care Act reduces the deficit.

In my days waiting tables in some of the best houses around I raked in an average 20-25% gratuities.
These exclusive houses would never ask a seasoned professional waiter, captain to pool his tips with the others. These waiters have stayed with these houses as long as they have because they pretty much control their income with the level of service they provide.
These are the guys who’ve sent years in kitchens before ever going out on the floor. They can make any meal you want at your table and have vast knowledge of wines and liquors.
So, you can see why I was so upset when one establishment in Ca. said we all had to pool our tips at the end of each day and divide it up evenly among the waiters who then out of that cut paid off their bartender and busboys a percentage set by management and not their performance.
I would be damned if some slouch usually making 200 a night was receiving 300 because I had to give up 25% of my 400 in the name of fairness.
I left, and soon, only to come back in 6 months for a drink to see the place full of the worst wait staff you’ve ever seen.

SEIU nurses (some who can barely speak English) will strike because of “unfair” wages.Hospitals are already “cleansing” the roster of experienced RN’s and hiring the “12 weekers”…ie nurses who fly into US/work 12 weeks/then fly back to Philippines or elsewhere.
I have successfully talked 3 young women NOT to go to Nursing School in the last 2 years.

It has often been written that while Reagan is held up as the hero of the Conservative movement his governing, in California or the White House, would never stand up to the scrutiny and litmus tests that are now part and parcel of the Republican primary process.

Why should the left/planned parenthood get any credit when they cant offer it to anyone of a different opinion ?
Why should the right give you or planned parenthood the time of day if you’re going to propel the myth that the GOP harbors or is aligned with the KKK ?

I know for a fact I can find countless communists within the Democratic party that condone controlled birth rates under the guise of environmentalism or sheer adherence to Communism.
The lefts claims of racism on the right cannot be substantiated by any organization boasting racism or close margin compared to those on the left who have flat out blatantly shown membership to the Communist Party of America.
The KKK does not function in any administration.
Obamas administration and recent Democratic administrations have been shown to employ Communists.

I am pretty sure if you asked anyone what party they think the KKK votes for they would respond Republican. If it was decades ago, the answer would have been Democrat if they lived in the South.

Gawd I’m not going back to learn the context but can’t believe you knuckleheads are discussing the KKK as if it were relevant.
Interesting to me that most violent criminals are Democrats but that fact isn’t so much the end of a discussion but a cause to ask why.

Bad behavior is always justified by someone elses fault.
