The Fiscal Cliff 2013 plan from Barack Obama must be a joke, considering how Mitch McConnell openly laughed at it! Yes, that is what happened when Obama sent Treasury Secretary Timothy Giethner to Capitol Hill to present the White House plan to Senate and House Republicans. Speaker of the House John Boehner has all but said now that the Fiscal Cliff talks have completely stalled. The problem is that Barack Hussein Obama does not want to do any spending cuts at all while he demands that tax rates be raised. Obama also wants to do another round of stimulus spending and wants the authority over the nation′s debt limit transferred permanently from the Legislative Branch to the Executive Branch. This as we face maxing out our current debt ceiling by February, if not sooner. Meanwhile, the clocks ticks away as Tax-ageddon approaches on January 1st.
Obama took his dog-and-pony show on the road yesterday to Pennsylvania speaking at a toy factory owned by the Rodon Group. He continued his assault against House Republicans who stand between him and becoming a pharaoh like his pal, Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood president of Egypt. Bad enough that Obama wants GOP lawmakers to roll over and increase tax rates without any spending cuts at all, but now wants to usurp the Constitution and give himself unlimited power to spend as much money as he wants.
Republicans who appeared to be ready to cave in the week before are now starting to develop a backbone due to Obama′s insulting power-grab. Some are now actually talking about letting the calendar run out and allowing the Bush Tax Cuts and the rest of the budgetary mess expire come January 1st. Obama claims that the Republicans will play Scrooge, ruining Christmas for all. But the problem is one of his own creation, although there is no doubt that Obama′s allies in the Media will blame the GOP.
Our nation has not had an actual annual fiscal budget now for nearly four years. The U.S. Senate, led by Harry Reid, has refused to even consider a budget for more than 1200 days now. Reid is also working to change the Senate rules on filibusters in order to further shun Republican senators. A clear sign that Obama and the Democrats have no desire to work towards any bipartisan agreement. Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) has been saying for months that they should just let the fiscal cliff happen. Now, many Conservatives are leaning in that direction rather than sell out to the Socialists and their Welfare State.
In my opinion, the GOP should put one last deal on the table, voting on it in the House and sending it to the Senate. I would suggest it involve Herman Cain′s 9-9-9 plan, simplifying our tax system to one that is pro-growth to benefit the economy. Toss in provisions for means testing MediCare for the wealthy and a graduated increase in the Social Security age, say one month per year starting in 2018 until the retirement age has gone up a full year in 2030. At least that would be something to hang our hats on that many in the public might comprehend and agree with.
The truth is, we have already gone over the real fiscal cliff long ago. You can throw around all sorts of numbers but the facts are that we truly have no idea just how bad of financial shape the nation is in. The Federal Reserve has never been audited. While some of us are familiar with our ′on budget′ National Debt now at about $16.3 Trillion dollars, the size of our ′off budget′ debt, sometimes referred to as ′Commitments and Contingencies′, is somewhere between $64 Trillion to more than $200 Trillion dollars! A few folks out there think we′ve already blown through $1 Quadrillion dollars!
The idea that raising taxes is going to help is ridiculous. Even if you confiscated everything over $1 million in income, as well as all profits of the Fortune 500, you would still only come up with enough cash to fund the federal government for maybe 6 months. We are still in a recession, despite Obama and the Media saying we are not. If we really were out of it, then the Federal Reserve would have been raising interest rates. But Ben Bernanke is continuing his plan for another round of Quantitative Easing, buying bonds and securities to keep Wall Street happy, and keep interest rates at 0.5% until at least 2014. The Fed bankers have been saying all along that until the unemployment rate dips below 6.5%, they will continue to print cheap money.
So while Fiscal Cliff 2013 is just around the corner, Barack Obama appears to have no real intentions on doing anything to solve the real problem, that our government has no true annual budget and is just spending far too much. The White House is not offering Senate nor House Republicans any spending cuts while demanding twice the tax rate increase they did back in 2011, as well as moving control of the debt limit to the Executive Branch. If you think things are bad now, just wait until Obama has an unlimited debt ceiling to play with!

May I say as a unknown american; all this back and forth about tax increases. Why have anyone spoke about the government’s cutting back on their personal spending.
For instance, private planes, chauffeurs, exclusive vacations, chefs, private trainers, having overstaffed offices…
Instead, you are talking about taking more money out of schools, medicare, medicaid and social security. I’m just saying.

I think it’s fair for the wealthy to pay a bit more in taxes. I still have no clue why the right bends over for them so much. Many of the super rich pay little to no tax and in some cases pay NEGATIVE taxes. Why does the right champion this anti-middle class pro-rich agenda so much? Is it the ‘job creator’ kool-aid?
Here’s an idea: Tax the wealthy more and start taxing the church – it’s time for their free ride to end.
The top 1% got a 93% growth in income since 2010. It’s time for them to pay more taxes. Also, while we’re at it, let’s cut back military spending a bit, or at least level it off. We can still be bigger than the next 20 countries combined and I’m pretty sure we’ll be okay.
Please tell me which spending cuts we can make, which will net better results than above. It’s time for the free ride of the rich to end.

You bring up an excellent point that many extremely profitable corporations are paying negative taxes while a huge amount are paying near zero. Yet we continue to hear this silliness about wanting more cuts. How more negative of a tax burden should these folks get? If you list the most bankrupt states and cities, then list the most liberal states and cities, you will see that the list is identical.
Just because a state is red now does not mean that the liberal policies over the last 40 years have not led to the insurmountable problems now. New York and California are poster children for liberal policies.
These are also the most populated states and cities also.
The top 5 most fiscally sound states are all non union, with 3 of 5 being conservative and the other two swing.
There is substantially less commerce in southern poor red states.
For the amount of commerce and people in NY, CA,and wealthy blue states it makes no sense why they are the most in debt.

Here insurance companies can dump you completely (the real death panels), rendering you unable to even get a decent plan. My aunt is a great example, a few years ago she injured her back and she was dropped off her insurance. She has to pay $6,000 every 8 months for a lower lumbar epidural, which she can no longer afford. That’s $18,000 every 2 years just to get a few shots! My parents owe tens of thousands of dollars for my dad’s heart condition.
Over here in the great US of A it’s purely about the almighty dollar. TONS of people go into bankruptcy due to medical bills and many die in debt which they are never able to pay, thanks to the dollar over the citizen. You morons place greenbacks before people – oh, unless you are the one who needs help. Secession is unconstitutional. The secessionists states in the 19th century claimed that the constitution was a contract entered into by the states, and if a state decided it wanted out, then that state should be allowed to exit the contract. The problem with that is this…
The preamble of the constitution–the first three words–nullifies that entire argument. For you Ron who seems has never read the Constitution, here’s how the preamble reads:
“WE THE PEOPLE” of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
Note the caps part. “We the people . . .” It doesn’t read, “We the States.” The Constitution was not a contract entered by states, it was created by the people and for the people. A state cannot legally secede from the Union, because the Constitution is a document that binds the states to the law of the land. The states are bound to the Constitution by the will of the people.
And you cannot facilitate it in any way.
So it’s fairly stupid to continue on with this whole secession idea as much as it is to wish those threatening it success.

Bad enough the federal government is strangling small businesses with an endless stream of new regulations to comply with. Which is more important right now? Creating more jobs or forcing more businesses to close or not hire? You figure it out…

BTW, some fresh examples of stupid federal regulations…
Pizza shops must now display special charts showing the nutritional value of their food. Domino’s, for example, must have one such chart in every store, each costing the owner (usually one of those Middle Class people Obama allegedly wants to help) about $4,500. What makes this really dumb is that less than 10% of all pizza sales for Domino’s is walk-in traffic. Most orders are done over the phone with a fair amount done on-line.
If you are a muffin baker, you must now have separate charts on you product when selling individual muffins, or a different one for each package of multiple muffins. So a six-pack must have a unique nutritional chart different than a single muffin package, or one with a dozen muffins.
The Obama administration has been issuing about 60 new regulations per day for the last 90 days. The EPA is ready to unleash hundreds aimed just at the coal industry.
But be patient, RonM. I’m sure that Obama will get around to adding more regulations to the construction and architecture industries very, very soon.

Our doctors and hospitals are subjected to the highest insurance rates anywhere. I’ve lost two docs here in the islands because its ridiculously expensive to stay insured.
My wifes OBG was not allowed in one hospital until a frivolous suit had been settled,doctors have to perform preventive medicine not for the patients benefit but instead for their own safety.
All these costs get passed on to us, and that system as it is, is not getting better anytime soon.
There are true cases where doctors need to go to jail, or have their asses sued off them, you will not be able to sue a federally operated healthcare system as easily, most adults know this.

I do high-end residential design and construction. Single family. The kind of stuff a guy like Romney lives in, and we do a considerable amount of work pro-bono for Habitat for humanity, and low-income housing initiatives.
As for the EPA. Once again, you spew ignorant garbage. It all depends on whether or not you are changing occupancy or asking for a zoning variance for any particular site.
I have ONCE had to get an EPA assessment in the over 10,000,000 sf of homes/estates/projects (70+) I’ve run or worked on. We couldn’t drain a pond that was part of a wetlands estuary. I however have been denied to excessively pave sites (tennis/basketball courts….etc.) because of LOCAL codes. Rain water run-off overwhelming municipal sewage systems. REASONABLE local code regulations in my opinion.
As for your particular Hawaiian experience, burial sites….etc. both there and in my region, those type of restrictions affect less than 1% of US construction. So cut the exaggeration crap.

Zoning laws have been in place for decades.
Its not rocket science to know no variance would entertain burning coal next to schools and we dont need to pay people to tell us what we know.

We dont even propose windmills or solar farms next to schools so your argument is once again moot.
