Susan Rice, our ambassador to the United Nations, appeared on Capitol Hill yesterday to meet with several senators. The goal was a charm-campaign to discuss her statements about the attack upon on consulate in Benghazi, Libya back on September 11, 2012. Her three most vocal critics, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte, have said that they would oppose her replacing Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. But instead of relieving concerns about Benghazi Gate, Rice′s testimony left the Republican senators more ″troubled″. This was compounded when acting CIA Director Michael Morell, who accompanied Rice, also added more confusion over the talking points memo Rice used for her five Sunday morning talk show appearances on September 16. Morell claimed that the FBI was behind some of the editing, but later, his office retracted that putting the blame back on the CIA. Last week, James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, admitted that it was his office that did the editing.
The excuse for the editing is that it was meant to conceal classified information. But, we now know that most of what Rice parroted from the memo was inaccurate. There was no ′spontaneous′ mob protesting the You-Tube video as some allege was the cause behind the protests earlier that day in Cairo, Egypt. We also know that terrorist groups associated with Al Qaeda were responsible for the attack on our consulate and the CIA annex compound, which claimed the lives of four Americans. There is also information that connects Al Qaeda to the protests in Cairo, as well as a similar protest in Yemen. That the terrorists have as a goal to attack our embassies, as well as either kill or kidnap embassy officials.
Democrats and their allies in the Media are attempting to paint any criticism of Susan Rice as racist. But even Barack Obama admitted during his last press conference that Rice is out ambassador to the United Nations and had little to do with our consulate in Benghazi, Libya. So why was she trotted out instead of Hillary Clinton, who was in town that weekend and far more responsible? Rice′s appearance on Capitol Hill just left her critics more confused and ′troubled′ by her testimony. Republican senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte had been walking back their opposition to promote Rice to Secretary of State after initially stating they would block the move. Now, after yesterday, it would seem that the GOP senators have returned to their original position and will filibuster the promotion in the Senate, should Obama go through with this. The mystery of Benghazi gate continues.

Oh, heck, just pick someone else for Secretary of State.
She can’t be the only one that is qualified and there is no sense choosing someone that will face this much opposition.
In addition, at the risk of being incredibly sexist, can we simply pick an old white guy?
Why?
Perception in the rest of the world.
Do many of the countries we are embroiled with have sexist attitudes? Yes.
Are many of them racist? Yes.
Is that wrong? Sure, but it is reality and if it furthers our cause to comply with the somewhat backward thinking of other countries, so be it.
If Obama insists on pushing her forward it is nothing but stubbornness.
November 28th, 2012 at 9:43 am
GOP senators are suggesting he appoint kerry. I’d guess that this will only happen if brown says he won’t run for senate.
I’ll never figure why ayotte agreed to be the 3rd amigo (amiga?). She has a real future in the party.
November 28th, 2012 at 9:51 am
Good point Arriba.
Politically, this is a fool’s errand.
It doesn’t really effect McCain’s political ambitions (or lack thereof).
November 28th, 2012 at 10:00 am
Rice has been ambassador to the UN for 4 years and I doubt you’ve read the rest of her VERY impressive resume. She IS the best suited for the job.
To your points:
1.) The diplomatic elite around the world are mostly people of color.
2.) These same people are used to negotiating with women in high positions. And some think women make better negotiators anyway.
3.) Countries don’t give a rats azz about who the diplomat is, they care about the leverage they bring with them from the country they represent.
Source: My cousin in the State Department.
Also, no way Obama should let a couple of Senators with “issues” dictate the make-up of his cabinet.
And personally, my respect for McCain’s “judgement” flew out the window when he selected Palin as his VP running mate. And Graham is just doing his “opposition party” duty, which is to say SOMETHING anytime Obama puts up an appointee.
I say run her through.
P.S. I did hear that McCain may be doing a “loyalty” thing on Kerry’s behalf. Kerry’s evidently Obama’s second pick.
November 28th, 2012 at 10:29 am
What a tangle web we weave when we try to deceive. That is basically it. Susan Rice will probable be confirmed. Obama always gets what he wants. Lets face it the democrats rewards incompentance. So what US embassy was destroyed and 4 were murdered. Obama does not care. Destroying the US is the goal. Reward the hood and destroy the virtue.
November 28th, 2012 at 10:48 am
If Rice fights like she walks I’m all for her.
Aside from all the intel screw ups, her being a liberal, she projects a “dont f with me” impression.
I may be given her to much leeway, but I believe shes more a victim of a screwed up administration than her own aspirations or politics.
In my own mind, I believe at this point she hates Barrys guts for putting her on a stick for the world to lick and then acting the macho hero after she got spat out.
“Come after me”
We will.

“Is that wrong? Sure, but it is reality and if it furthers our cause to comply with the somewhat backward thinking of other countries, so be it.”
I get your point. But we – not to mention the rest of the world – also have something important to gain in some of these backwards-thinking places. I can’t help but wonder what women who are legally prohibited from driving a car or attending school must think when a Condi or a Hillary arrives in their country.

If only Obama’s detractors weren’t so lazy, and actually looked up the issues and got the FACTS, actually put his performance in FACTUAL perspective, they wouldn’t criticize him IN IGNORANCE so much. Sorry but while the consulate deaths were tragic and unfortunate, the GOP is just playing grandstanding politics with Ms. Rice and the Obama administration on this issue.
They just lost an election and have to do “something” to try to show they’re still relevant.
November 28th, 2012 at 11:21 am
“Obama does not care. Destroying the US is the goal.”
Yup, broke the senseless hyperbole meter again.
November 28th, 2012 at 11:29 am
buzzbee – “Yup, broke the senseless hyperbole meter again.”
Think of it this way Buzz. At least the poster didn’t call Obama a Marxist, Kenyan Anti-Christ dictator. So that’s “some” progress.
November 28th, 2012 at 11:32 am
Most women in her position have slept around to get on top. Buzz is right. There have to be other more qualified candidates out there. She is not worth anyone’s time.
November 28th, 2012 at 12:21 pm
Oh, there is no doubt this Benghazi (no gate) affair is politically motivated and the GOP is starting to realize it is not proving to be as beneficial as they thought, which is why Ayotte would be wise to get away from it.
I have never heard so much chatter about something that is so deeply rooted in semantics. Who said what, when?
Of course if a person mentions any objection to this witch-hunt you can count down on one hand, 5,4,3,2,1…waiting for the inevitable forthcoming response, which will be additionally steeped in righteous indignation, “But what about the 4 dead Americans?” Yes, they surely have a “special” empathy and if anyone offers an objection to this investigation it is tantamount to being complicit in their deaths.
The dishonesty in this examination, by politicians and the right wing media is astounding.
Even with that description, ….5,4,3,2,1…
November 28th, 2012 at 12:22 pm
“You know if it happened under a Republican you know the media….yada, yada, yada…”
The right wing victim card.
November 28th, 2012 at 12:42 pm
“Embassy Attacks and Casualties Under Bush:”
Mmmm..thats not really the point.
There were no cover ups in an attempt to hide an agenda of minimizing our enemies to further the needed impression that “Al Queda has been decimated” or “on the run”.
There was no misrepresentations that lead to these deaths you mention.
Pakistan has always been a hot bed, a hide out from those we were officially at war with as is also the case in many Arab nations
Libya, according to the media and white house BS was on its way to being a free democratic sovereign nation
There was no confusion on the part of the Bush administration as to who the enemy was.
The reports and briefings related did not have all damning proof redacted by magic marker.
If you’d like to draw these kind of comparisons we could go way back starting with Clintons dereliction’s contributing to 911, Somalia etc to Carters idiocy resulting in Sadats assassination.
Maybe even look as far back as the failures to see the proxy intent behind the Muslim Brotherhood adopting much of the Nazi doctrine so it could be applied to committing genocide once the Jews were all in one neat little place called Israel, making it that much easier to exterminate the whole lot in one sweep.
The list would be quite extensive if you want to discuss embassy and consulate attacks during any administration as this shts been going on for decades.
The list is very short when you look for intelligence cover ups, or covering up lack of intelligence.
November 28th, 2012 at 12:47 pm
Why do (did) we have an embassy in Libya, which was a cauldron at the time, or Tunisia, or even Egypt at this point?
Designate bulls eye, insert human target and wait for the inevitable tragedy.
November 28th, 2012 at 12:49 pm
““You know if it happened under a Republican you know the media….yada, yada, yada…”
The right wing victim card.”
We are the hawks.
You guys are not.
With the right we engage in the messy fight.
With that comes alot of collateral damage we have to and had to live up to.
So spare me, because my mind is swelling with all the crap you guys dished out right after Afghanistan became the bad war(after y’all voted yes on it) only because the elections were rolling around.
November 28th, 2012 at 12:59 pm
“Why do (did) we have an embassy in Libya, which was a cauldron at the time,”
Yes, but the reports of at least ten radical tribes jockying for power were either ignored or very ignorantly dismissed.
” even Egypt at this point?{”
At this point its closed.
Maybe Obama should be answering your questions.
November 28th, 2012 at 1:10 pm
“There were no cover ups in an attempt to hide an agenda of minimizing our enemies to further the needed impression that “Al Queda has been decimated” or “on the run”.”
No cover-ups? How do you know? Most people have never even heard of these attacks. Can you name anyone in the Bush administration who got fired over them? Anyone who resigned? Charges filed? Do you recall a SINGLE hearing being held? Did Condi Rice or Rumsfeld give testimony?
Sounds like they were “covered up” to perfection.
“The list would be quite extensive if you want to discuss embassy and consulate attacks during any administration as this shts been going on for decades.”
Exactly. Then why is the GOP trying to turn this into the next Iran-Contra (care to go there?..lol), or Watergate?
Post election B/S by the GOP to stay relevant in the news is all it’s about.
November 28th, 2012 at 1:20 pm
“There was no misrepresentations that lead to these deaths you mention.”
Regarding the “Bush” Embassy attacks list, I’ll bet that:
1.) You have never heard of any these attacks before.
2.) Can’t name a SINGLE official involved.
3.) No nothing of the facts/circumstances involved.
4.) COMPLETELY “made-up” the remark I quoted from you (above) as you have no knowledge at all to base it on.
You’re just throwing “stuff” out there to try and make a point. Not buying it dude.
November 28th, 2012 at 1:31 pm
That’s true Ron.
Thankfully these extremist clowns on the right will become irrelevant as they continue display what a bunch crazies they’ve become. Nobody with any hint of intelligence takes them seriously anymore. The Grumpy Old Party has had it’s day. Newer, less insane Republicans need to emerge before they will see the office again.
They are more desperate than ever, and it shows.
November 28th, 2012 at 1:59 pm
“No cover-ups? How do you know? ”
Cant prove a negative my friend
“Most people have never even heard of these attacks. Can you name anyone in the Bush administration who got fired over them? Anyone who resigned? Charges filed? Do you recall a SINGLE hearing being held? Did Condi Rice or Rumsfeld give testimony?”
Mmmm… I remember some pretty serious accusations and inquiries over WMDs not being found.
Then theres all the crap liberals accused our troops of in Afghanistan.
Kerrys disgusting mouth…
And after all that, yeah, no one quit or got fired.
Do the math.
“Sounds like they were “covered up” to perfection.”
From a biased perspective, yeah.
But, you’re not a truther are you ?
“Exactly. Then why is the GOP trying to turn this into the next Iran-Contra (care to go there?..lol), or Watergate?”
Well, as I explained this is relevant to a need for image being more important than human life.
No one died because of Watergate, and the man did resign in the face of truth n fact.
“Post election B/S by the GOP to stay relevant in the news is all it’s about.”
No, by 2016 the failing economy will be enough to put conservative fiscal policies in office.
Although another 911 is becoming to look like a reality, our present foreign policy is obviously a disaster. The very same kind of policies that bred the complacency leading to 911 and all the previous attacks that basically went unanswered an unheeded.
Yeah, there’s opportunistic jerks everywhere, but I’m one to believe that there’s still folks, true patriots, who dont like dead Americans.
I’m sure Obama treasures our citizens lives as well but that cant change the fact that hes going about showing it in a very wrong way.
And that his priorities may well be up his ass.
November 28th, 2012 at 2:22 pm
“Regarding the “Bush” Embassy attacks list, I’ll bet that:”
Be careful Ron.
The Bush era is a drop in the bucket.
It was also the first “official” war waged on Radical Islam and terrorism, its no wonder the cells and groups across the planet from the Philippines to NY to the middle east and N. Africa came to life.
My Jewish dad adopted me by way of marrying my Danish mother in Denmark.
He was born shortly before WW2, did not know who his parents were, they disappeared when he was very young.
Was raised in a U.S. orphanage, sent to military school by his adoptive Jewish parents.
My mom (12 at the time) and granma were both beaten, raped, tattooed, and jailed by N@zis for hiding American allies from the Germans in their closet.
My upbringing by my father involved extensive discussions and inquiries into radical Muslims past, belief system and all the history, activities and results of the movement up until this very day.
Sht you’ll never get from a book.
My knowledge on these ass holes is quite extensive and I dont dare say my forte` in political debate.
Save your money.
On this issue, I’m firmly conservative and am actually disappointed that the conservative response was not more severe.
These people are the pi$$ of the earth and them getting their asses kicked til they bleed red white n blue will not take a backseat to ideological bickering.
November 28th, 2012 at 2:28 pm
“That’s true Ron.
Thankfully these extremist clowns on the right will become irrelevant as they continue display what a bunch crazies they’ve become. ”
Next time you’re in a high rise I’ll fly a jet into it and right up your rump.
Then you’ll look halfway sane in calling anyone “crazy extremist radicals”
November 28th, 2012 at 2:36 pm
In listening to right wing media it is quite puzzling how they get “from here to there”.
There is much discussion on the semantics surrounding Benghazi, but somehow the discussion always ends with a loud (and always out of context) “four dead Americans”.
There is a muted inference, but I swear they really want to say, “Obama killed four Americans”.
Maybe it is just me.
Oh well, if this is where they choose to put all of their chips, so be it.
Meanwhile the electorate made it clear they would rather the government tried to deal with the fiscal cliff.
Of course, “Four dead Americans” does have more ratings traction than an economic discussion.
Maybe if it was called “Fiscal Cliff” ummm…Gate?

Can you please explain what that has to do with Snow Crash’s comment?
November 28th, 2012 at 2:38 pm
Oh, that’s right, 911 was Clinton’s fault, Bush saved us and Obama is putting us in harm’s way.
November 28th, 2012 at 3:13 pm
“Can you please explain what that has to do with Snow Crash’s comment?”
Buzz, I’ll admit, I’m guilty of the political and ideological bickering involved in this.
But, the bottom line for me is this.
These ass holes want you, me, and every last one of us dead.
Only after the Jews.
If the threat is recognized for being as serious as it is we will continue to see the escalation in its population and effectiveness grow.
This threat is thousands of years old and almost everything short of nuking there asses has been tried in getting them to behave.
The story that this has always been about a holy site is secondary now to what has become a warped theology that calls for all infidels to die before the 12th Imam returns.
While were sitting here bickering subjective and biased terms these ass holes are laughing at us for continually going after the shiny object as they think up their next move.
I would love nothing more than to argue the economy as it may be what decides the next election.
Sadly, I believe that is also exactly what our enemy is wishing we would do.
Were taking our eye off the ball, again.
The Japanese used similar techniques by suicide in WW2 and the left nuked them into submission knowing more lives would actually be saved by such a drastic measure.
After centuries of more than millions of deaths due to these crack monkeys the Pacific war pales in comparison.
So, why are we not repeating this proven lesson from history ?
November 28th, 2012 at 3:14 pm
If the threat is “”NOT”"recognized for being as serious as it is we will continue to see the escalation in its population and effectiveness grow.
There

“Oh, that’s right, 911 was Clinton’s fault, Bush saved us and Obama is putting us in harm’s way.”
4 of the 5 years it took to plan 911 were on Clintons watch.
The same warnings given by Israel and many of our allies to Clinton for more than 4 years were also ignored in Bushs first few months.

November 28th, 2012 at 3:25 pm
“Yeah, there’s opportunistic jerks everywhere, but I’m one to believe that there’s still folks, true patriots, who dont like dead Americans.”
Well these folks didn’t seem to care all that much about the 10 embassy attacks and 70+ dead on Bush’s watch. Did they?
Bet you can’t name a single victim.
“Mmmm… I remember some pretty serious accusations and inquiries over WMDs not being found.”
What “accusation”? WMD’s WEREN’T found. That’s a FACT.
Bush’s WMD “mistake” amounted to 4,000 dead Americans, A THOUSAND TIMES MORE than those at Benghazi and I don’t recall a single Bush administration official being held accountable.
Can you? Got a name?
November 28th, 2012 at 3:26 pm
Genocide?
November 28th, 2012 at 3:32 pm
Oh, boy, you had to do it Ron?
Cue up Micky’s Iraq screed.
Micky, I hope you can cut and paste that thing so you don’t have to rewrite it every time.

Just love how you right wingers “spread the blame around” when your guy’s in the White House. All of a sudden you see the complexities of the office and chains of authority/responsibility.
When it’s Obama, you guys threat it like he’s on the scene personally directing everything that goes wrong.
November 28th, 2012 at 3:54 pm
buzzbee – Iraq? Don’t get ME started.
That idiot Bush. The only leader of a major world power in recorded world HISTORY to start a war BY MISTAKE!

Nice try.

“WE” are doing something terribly wrong.

““Just love how you right wingers “spread the blame around” when your guy’s in the White House.”
“My guy” is not in the White House.
And I believe I’ve given fair blame to everyone
November 28th, 2012 at 4:25 pm
I’ll give you a great example.
The day after 911 was the last time this country was united on anything.
We all took responsibility and placed a unanimous vote to go kick the b@stards asses.
Then, the elections came around.
And everything went to sht.
November 28th, 2012 at 4:36 pm
“That idiot Bush. The only leader of a major world power in recorded world HISTORY to start a war BY MISTAKE!”
“Mistake” is a matter of opinion.
Iraq would be the result of the mindset installed by 911 that we would no longer ignore those that promised us harm.
The fact is this.
In a year long interrogation by the FBI Saddam was asked by the only agent who interrogated him why he did not just allow inspectors to reveal the absence of WMD.
Saddams answer was that he needed the world to believe he had these weapons so his enemies, mainly the US, Kurds and Iran, so they would fear him.
The fact that he’d used them on his own citizens gave pretty good reasoning as well.
===============
“”So why keep the secret? Why put your nation at risk, why put your own life at risk to maintain this charade?” Pelley asks.
“It was very important for him to project that because that was what kept him, in his mind, in power. That capability kept the Iranians away. It kept them from reinvading Iraq,” Piro says.
Before his wars with America, Saddam had fought a ruinous eight year war with Iran and it was Iran he still feared the most.
“He believed that he couldn’t survive without the perception that he had weapons of mass destruction?” Pelley asks.
“Absolutely,” Piro says.
“As the U.S. marched toward war and we began massing troops on his border, why didn’t he stop it then? And say, ‘Look, I have no weapons of mass destruction.’ I mean, how could he have wanted his country to be invaded?” Pelley asks.
“He didn’t. But he told me he initially miscalculated President Bush. And President Bush’s intentions. He thought the United States would retaliate with the same type of attack as we did in 1998 under Operation Desert Fox. Which was a four-day aerial attack. So you expected that initially,” Piro says.
Piro says Saddam expected some kind of an air campaign and that he could he survive that. “He survived that once. And then he was willing to accept that type of attack. That type of damage,” he says”…

“Then, the elections came around.
And everything went to sht.”
The only problem people had was “the Bastards” weren’t in Iraq Micky.
Even OBAMA voted to go after the Taliban and Al Qaeda/Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Because THAT was where the people and terror organization that attacked us were.
Or are you one of the 50% of polled Republicans who still think Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11?
November 28th, 2012 at 6:24 pm
“The fact that he’d used them on his own citizens gave pretty good reasoning as well.”
Inspector Hans Blix (remember him?) was in Iraq, finding NO WMD’s, which was not what Bush’s neocons wanted to hear. So they told the inspectors to get out before they could finish.
And having HAD WMD’s in the PAST is irrelevant when an inspection regime to determine if Iraq had them AT PRESENT was shut down by Bush.
And “pretty good” doesn’t cut it when putting American lives on the line when all one had to do wass let inspection continue to CONFIRM their (WMD’s) status.
Alas. Inspector Blix was RIGHT, Bush and the neocons were WRONG, and a lot of troops died for NO REASON.
November 28th, 2012 at 6:55 pm
“The only problem people had was “the Bastards” weren’t in Iraq Micky.”
I defined the difference. Your argument makes no sense
Me;
“Iraq would be the result of the mindset installed by 911 that we would no longer ignore those that promised us harm.”
“Even OBAMA voted to go after the Taliban and Al Qaeda/Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Because THAT was where the people and terror organization that attacked us were.”
Yes, I made this clear in mentioning the unanimous vote.
“Or are you one of the 50% of polled Republicans who still think Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11?”
See above

“The fact that he’d used them on his own citizens gave pretty good reasoning as well.”
“Inspector Hans Blix (remember him?) was in Iraq, finding NO WMD’s, which was not what Bush’s neocons wanted to hear. So they told the inspectors to get out before they could finish.”
BS..
“Inspectors voluntarily ended their mission because of the threat of military action by the United States and its allies.”
Rumsfeld gets a run for his money in this interview, but, The Washington Post does not agree with you.
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2011/02/rumsfelds_flight_of_fancy_on_i.html
“And having HAD WMD’s in the PAST is irrelevant when an inspection regime to determine if Iraq had them AT PRESENT was shut down by Bush.”
See above
“And “pretty good” doesn’t cut it when putting American lives on the line when all one had to do wass let inspection continue to CONFIRM their (WMD’s) status.”
I suggest you brush up on Saddams history with the US, his invasion of its allies, the Saudis wanting him dead, and how we once supplied him with components for WMD which he threatened us with in Desert Fox.
As I said, the mindset created by 911 was that we would no longer repeat the complacency of all previous administrations that lead to the worst attack on our country ever
“Alas. Inspector Blix was RIGHT, Bush and the neocons were WRONG, and a lot of troops died for NO REASON.”
That would be your opinion.
After Desert Storm a treaty was drawn up in which Saddam violated every single term and sanction.
He issued a threat to assassinate a US president.
April 16 2003.
Saddam was found to be violating oil for food programs by selling the food received in exchange for oil for cash. His country was starving so he could build anther mansion/palace.
This was a violation of peace treaties enacted after the first gulf war, it is also an act of war and justification for disbanding the Iraqi leadership.

Iraqi Firings: Since 2000, Iraqi forces have fired on U.S. and British pilots 1,600 times. In 2002, Iraqi forces fired on U.S. and British pilots406 times. Since September 18, just hours after Saddam promised to “allow the return of the United Nations inspectors without conditions” and expressed his desire “to remove any doubts that Iraq still possesses weapons of mass destruction,”
1. Elected Democrats like Reid and Pelosi have no loyalty to the Current Military Personal who are in harms way, or they would make sure they have funding no matter what.
2. President Clinton had little loyalty to the Military, or Iraqi forces firing on U.S. Pilots would not have continued into the 2000.
3. Iran attacking our Military Personal is not acceptable.
Revisiting these historical facts should drive home the point that Saddam was in violation of the terms under which we spared him after liberating Kuwait — with or without WMDS and with our without ties to Al Qaeda.
Clinton would have been well justified to invade Iraq at just about any time during his second term — problem is Clinton lacked the courage to do what really needed to be done (and instead attacked Yugoslavia.)
No-Fly Zones, the Iraqi Violations.
Operation Northern Watch enforces the no-fly zone north of the 36th parallel in Iraq and monitors Iraqi compliance with UN Security Council resolutions 678, 687, and 688. The United States and the United Kingdom provide about 45 aircraft and more than 1,400 personnel to support the operation.
Operation Southern Watch enforces the no-fly zone south of the 33rd parallel in Iraq and monitors compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolutions 687, 688, and 949. The United States and the United Kingdom provide about 150 aircraft and 6,000 forces to support the operation.
All of the above were acts of war and aggression against the U.S.
Not even mentioning the thousands of human rights violations taking place on a daily basis.
All were violations of peace treaties enacted after the first gulf war/Kuwait invasion.

“The only problem people had was “the Bastards” weren’t in Iraq Micky.”
The problem is yours.
I said no such thing and made the difference in reasoning between the two wars very clear.
“Even OBAMA voted to go after the Taliban and Al Qaeda/Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Because THAT was where the people and terror organization that attacked us were.”
Yes, I believe I said we were all united on this
“Or are you one of the 50% of polled Republicans who still think Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11?”
See above
“Inspector Hans Blix (remember him?) was in Iraq, finding NO WMD’s, which was not what Bush’s neocons wanted to hear. So they told the inspectors to get out before they could finish.”
Bullsht.
The Washington Times says this, nicer than I
Rumsfeld gets a run for his money in this interview, but the author makes my point.
“inspectors voluntarily ended their mission because of the threat of military action by the United States and its allies.”

“And having HAD WMD’s in the PAST is irrelevant when an inspection regime to determine if Iraq had them AT PRESENT was shut down by Bush.
And “pretty good” doesn’t cut it when putting American lives on the line when all one had to do wass let inspection continue to CONFIRM their (WMD’s) status.
Alas. Inspector Blix was RIGHT, Bush and the neocons were WRONG, and a lot of troops died for NO REASON.”
Wrong again.
With or without WMD we had every right and reason to invade
Saddam was in violation of every sanction and treaty drawn up as ac result of his surrender in Desert Storm.
Before the war, Syria was said to be receiving as much as 200,000 b/d of oil through the pipeline, paying as much as $1 billion/year to Iraq, making it the single largest source of revenue for Baghdad outside the UN’s oil-for-aid program.
But the US action put an end to that arrangement, ending Washington’s formerly benign policy towards Syria’s illicit imports of Iraqi oil.

George W. Bush never claimed to have been to Iraq. Rather, both he and Tony Blair deferred to intelligence reports and, at the same time, complained that their sources were limited by the fact that Saddam would not allow inspections under the agreements that ended the Gulf War; nor would he respect numerous UN mandates to allow unrestricted monitoring.
Though rare, there are some in the world who allege that Bush knew the reports were wrong (in some mysterious fashion), but went to war under false pretenses anyway. This would certainly qualify as a lie, but it also defies common sense and probably speaks to the ignorance, delusion, or dishonesty of the person making such an assertion.
Saddam was also paying Palestinian suicide bombers families $25,000 ea. to go into Afghanistan and blow up Americans, this was most definitely an act of war.

At the very least Bush and his cohorts were certainly guilty of not applying anything close to analytical, rational or objective logic.
Certainly had the appearance of viewing a problem with a predetermination.
They did a great job of selling their platform and many in America were simply not sated. Afghanistan simply didn’t seem substantial enough to satisfy the thirst for retribution.
A desire for revenge is a horrible element in the decision making process.
You would think the most powerful people in the world would have been more pragmatic.

Micky-
““inspectors voluntarily ended their mission because of the threat of military action by the United States and its allies.”
You left out the rest from that article Mick. (I’ll paraphrase below each quote)
1.) “…The departure of the inspectors in 2003 is much more clear-cut: They wanted to keep looking for weapons of mass destruction and reported that Iraq was showing increasing cooperation. But the Bush administration clearly had its own timetable for military action.
-(Bush admin didn’t want to hear any “no WMD’s” and was determined not to have their (false)WMD claim refuted by inspectors)
2.) “From November 2002 through February 2003, the inspection teams conducted more than 760 inspections of 500 sites. Hans Blix, who headed what had been renamed UNMOVIC, reported there was no evidence of active chemical or biological weapons programs or stockpiles”
-(This Blix guy is messing with Bush’s war plans by not finding anything……damn!)
3.) “The IAEA reported no evidence of any kind of reconstituted nuclear weapons program. In a March 2003 appearance before the Security Council, then-IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei (now active in the Egyptian protests) went even further, directly disputing key pieces of evidence that the American administration had touted in its case for war.”
-(“Damn again! Not only no chemicals like we said, none of that “yellow cake” stuff we “hinted” at either…these guys are making us look like liars…)
4.) Blix, in his memoir “Disarming Iraq,” notes that in early March he began getting warnings from senior U.S. and British officials about the safety of the inspectors. Then the company that supplied helicopters for the teams withdrew its equipment from Iraq.
-( US and UK officials to company….”These inspector guys are messing up our show, yank your choppers, lean on them to get lost…we got a war to start…can’t allow them to declare Iraq clean and make us look stupid/like liars)
5.) The inspections ended quickly. On March 17, U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan announced the inspectors would be withdrawn. A day later, they left the country. On March 19, the U.S.-led invasion began, without explicit authority from the Security Council. (The Arms Control Association has another timeline, while the Congressional Research Service has an excellent report on the inspections.)
-(Inspectors forced out before finishing, Bush gets “plausible deniability” that Iraq has WMD’s, as “the inspectors never finished, they just didn’t find them yet, and we Americans were in “peril” of getting nuked and gassed and couldn’t wait any more )
AND IN CLOSING…….
6.) “The Pinocchio Test:——-Even if you grant the fact that the 1998 showdown with the inspectors was largely due to Saddam Hussein, there is no way one can claim, as Rumsfeld did, that Hussein threw the inspectors out in 2003 — or that it was the “second or third and fourth time.” Rumsfeld has either forgotten the circumstances under which he helped take the United States to war — which is doubtful, since he just wrote a book about it — or he is seriously misrepresenting the truth.
Four Pinocchios”
THANKS OR THE LINK MICKY!!!——This is the BEST synopsis of the duplicitous way the Bush administration “slithered” us into needlessly invading Iraq I’ve ever read. And the clearest evidence that Bush’s people had ulterior motives aside from their trumped up “WMD” smokescreen to invade Iraq. The final point to take away is that Bush’s telling the American public that Iraq needed to be invaded because it was a “WMD threat” was a COMPLETE lie, as his actions proved he was intent on invading even though the facts on the ground THEN showed that they weren’t a threat. He was always going in no matter what.
I wonder what the REAL reason was?
P.S. And let’s not forget how the administration’s ORIGINAL reason for invading went from WMD’s to quickly “slithering” over to: “We invaded to FREE the Iraqi people!” after no WMD’s were found.
P.P.S. 4,000 troops dead. 40,000 wounded. $1,200,000,000,000 US taxpayer dollars spent. And you Republicans have the gaul to whine and criticize Obama’s handling of regime change in Libya and Egypt, and his foreign policy on the whole, over Benghazi….4 dead, and not a single active US troop dead or wounded?
Damn!
P.P.P.S. And I don’t even want to get into how it took Bush 5 years, with FULL US TROOPS ON THE GROUND, total national security control, to get a stable government up and running in Iraq while the “Arab Spring” states and their new governments are only a year old, and policing/securing THEMSELVES on top of that.
Later.
-I need a freakin cigarette just thinking about this crap…….

“With or without WMD we had every right and reason to invade
Saddam was in violation of every sanction and treaty drawn up as ac result of his surrender in Desert Storm.”
1.) “Every right”? As determined by whom? I wasn’t aware US or international law allowed US or other countries to attack and invade/occupy another country without confirmed proof of a threat or being attacked first.
Please explain where this “right” comes from.
2.) BUSH told the American public we were going to war with Iraq because they had WMD’s and were a threat to US security.
That’s the argument Bush had Colin Powell make to the ENTIRE WORLD. Now you’re shrugging your shoulders like it was irrelevant, and besides there was other “stuff”…….WOW
And now you guys are ALL OVER Ambassador Rice for EVERY LITTLE WORD she said about Benghazi like it was WWIII, but when it comes to 4,000 dead over Iraq you’re like:
—-”Yeah, well, I know Colin Powell said WMD’s or whatever, but we….you know, kinda had some other beefs with Iraq too ya know. We got no regard for the UN, but it’s like, Saddam broke some of their rules also, so UN rules, WMD’s….What’s the diff? Saddam had “somethin” commin anyways. We never liked his face anyway”—-
You Bush apologists are priceless……:)
November 28th, 2012 at 11:39 pm
Wow, you guys are hopeless, entrenched in bigotry.
—————–
Heres where I get pi$$ed.
I only explained this to you 3 or four different ways now, casting blame on ALL administrations as far back as WW2 and you still keep saying the same stupid fcking sht…
“You Bush apologists are priceless……:)”
No one “apologized” for Bush ass hole !!
All I did was give facts to reason.
Acts of war were determined by not just us but the UN as well in accordance with peace treaty agreements.
Keep banging the WMD drum all you want.
The facts justifying our invasion of Iraq meet every requirement by us,the UN, and most every international law.
Saddam agreed that these violations would/could result in his ouster.
He confessed to maintaining the charade.
He shot at our planes in peacetime.
He sent suicide bombers into Afghanistan.
He threatened to assassinate a US president.
My blog posts more data and facts than you guys can come with in a measly couple hours.
My case is made.
Theres only a handful of loons today that keep the retarded WMD conspiracy going because the facts as I presented them, and many others such as the FBIs Piro, tell the entire story.
Not this cherry picked phantom crap “bush lied soldiers died”.
No one, has ever made the case he lied.
Ever
Grow up for Christs sake and fight our self confessed enemies.
The political jockying is how our guard got lowered in the first place.
Instead your little game of ideological bigotry you should be suggesting ways to defeat this crap.
Good night, boys
Rom, were done.
I offered you decent decorum and you insist on making the same argument over and over after I repeatedly gave you answers making that argument irrelevant.
If you want to have an intellectually dishonest conversation grease up your own head and stroke it with the repeated crap you’ve been saying til get where you want.
After this I’ll no longer converse with you.
You’ve proven a failure at all you claim to be.
Euphoria comes in many ways.
I’m going to sleep.
You get to sleep on the wet spot buddy.
November 28th, 2012 at 11:55 pm
“At the very least Bush and his cohorts were certainly guilty of not applying anything close to analytical, rational or objective logic.”
Quite possibly the dumbest most arrogant thing you’ve ever said.
You obviously did not read one damn thing I posted or linked.
If you did, it would read like this..
At the very least Saddam was certainly guilty of not applying anything close to analytical, rational or objective logic.
He had so much warning, so many opportunities, and violated every single one over and over with the exception only of WMDs which were proven not to exist by way of his own confession and our inability to find them only because he chose to make it appear as if he had them.
Every other violation and act of war is proven.
And for the record…
Asking who determines what an act of war is against the United States is asinine and a remnant of the retarded “one world government” idealists.
Go back and study the terms of Saddams surrender.
Then maybe you’ll make sense instead of thinking that throwing around words like “analytical, rational, objective, logic” make you sound like you’re on to something.
All you’re saying is you disagree with another mans thinking without making yourself look capable of explaining why.
November 28th, 2012 at 11:58 pm
I scew up when pi$$ed, most people do.
All you’re saying is you disagree with another mans by making yourself look incapable of explaining why.
November 29th, 2012 at 12:03 am
After all, lets just say it was all Bushs fault.
How the fck are you helping ?
Next time Al Queda hits us, will you blame Obama ?
And, if so, how the fck will that help ?
Its up to us to elect the guys that will end this.
Until then, its our fcking fault
November 29th, 2012 at 1:12 am
Mick – I just drop kicked your butt with your own damn link for all to see.
And I had friends who died over Bush’s Iraq BS so I ain’t in the mood to be smokin some freakin peace pipe with you just so you can save face
Checkmate.
“Next time Al Queda hits us, will you blame Obama ?”
Yet another example of your lack of comprehension skills. Did I say ANYTHING about Bush being responsible for terror attacks?
I was talking about the lead up to war in Iraq, or can’t you READ and understand what you’re reading? Do you have short term attention deficit disorder or what? I write THREE freakin times about Bush and Iraq, and you jump over to Al Qeada attacks for some reason like you’re having a brain aneurism.
Are you stoned now or what? That’s it. Probably why you were so nice/civilized earlier and half making sense. Stoned!…….:)
Later.
November 29th, 2012 at 6:19 am
RonM,
I suppose these are mute points but maybe, just maybe, the reason why there was no ruckus over embassy attacks during the Bush years was because administration officials were running around blaming some dumb video that practically nobody saw. Even on the day of the Benghazi attack, only some 3,000 ppl viewed the You Tube video, which had been out there for about 2 months before.
Benghazi is an issue because Obama made it one. He was pretty quick to jump out and reveal classified info while taking his victory lap for bin Laden. There has been very little learned that is not unexpected concerning Benghazi, other than the CIA may or may not be doing interrogations there. Plus the allegations of weapons smuggling, as to whether we are behind it or trying to stop it.
As for Susan Rice, be careful what you guys wish for. She’s about the closest thing to a Neo-Con-Interventionist there is in the Obama admin.
November 29th, 2012 at 8:51 am
Last chance Ron.
Dont talk to me about comprehension when you’re stuck on stupid.
WMD is a moot subject and was the medias main focus during to the lead up to war.
I listed all the other legal reasons we had to invade which you cant seem to absorb, for no strange reason.
The b@stard were in Iraq as soon as shock n awe was over.
Radical Islamists Sunni and Shiite tribes jockying for power, Iranian Kud special forces.
We can argue WMD all day long.
It changes nothing in the face of the thousands of violations in accord with ours, the UNs, and international laws that gave us absolute authority to invade.
Or, are you defending Saddam ?
He was not allowed to amass troops, he had to present the charade and if inspectors revealed to the world he had none all the other violations would not ward off his enemies.
Before inspections began he shot at our troops and aircraft thousands of times.
Traded oil for food and sold the food with the help of Kofi Anans son.
He’d used the WMD we supplied him with in his war with Iran on his own civilians.
He could not prove disposal or what he did with the supplies we gave him. Strange how all that material disappeared.
Rumor at the time was that they were shipped to Syria whom he was making illegal oil trades with.
Today, Obama is concerned over the movement of Syrias WMD. Where the hell did they come from ?
He paid Palestinians to bomb our troops in Afghanistan.
These are definitely mitigating facts that put the issue of WMD in the background.
=======================
“And I had friends who died over Bush’s Iraq BS so I ain’t in the mood to be smokin some freakin peace pipe with you just so you can save face”
I’ve made offers to have a more civil and constructive discourse with you.
By repeating the same accusation over and over as it was proven irrelevant over and over gave you and intellectually dishonest or “obtuse” argument.
I have family who died or disappeared in WW2, my friends wife on flight 93,and friends in Iraq as well with one across the street from me with no genitals or legs.
Not to mention the folks I used to see at the Towers every weekday on my way to work at Fraunces Tavern. The shoe shine guys in the lobby, the news stands, the bagel n dog guys.
Checkmate.
“Next time Al Queda hits us, will you blame Obama ?”
“Yet another example of your lack of comprehension skills. Did I say ANYTHING about Bush being responsible for terror attacks?”
It was a rhetorical question in combo with others to point out your obsession with Bush bashing and politics for sport instead actually focusing on a solution to a threat thats always been there.
They’re called Middle Eastern dictators who align with radical Muslim doctrines that call for genocide of infidels
Saddam was not a religious man, but played the card anyway.
You have not made the case as to why we should not of invaded Iraq other than to give opinions based on nothing but more hatred for the right than a monster
Even Clinton wagged his finger at Saddam over his violations but with a shrunken military could not, or did not have the balls to do what needed to be done.
Bush confessed on the issue if WMD and flawed WMD intel gathered by the coalition of 21 countries who were also allies in the invasion.
Before this Saddam was offered numerous opportunities to cease his present violations, regardless of WMD, he thumbed his nose at us
“I was talking about the lead up to war in Iraq, or can’t you READ and understand what you’re reading?”
Yes, and you asked a really stupid question which was answered in detail long before you asked it.
Right here> ” “Every right”? As determined by whom? I wasn’t aware US or international law allowed US or other countries to attack and invade/occupy another country without confirmed proof of a threat or being attacked first.”
We were attacked on numerous fronts which I listed.
“Do you have short term attention deficit disorder or what? I write THREE freakin times about Bush and Iraq,”
Seems you’re the one that needs a portal drilled into your head since you obviously have a very selective memory.
” and you jump over to Al Qeada attacks for some reason like you’re having a brain aneurism.”
Because they are the problem that still exists yet you cant see the dangers of an unstable middle east be it Saddam or every other Arab nation, all of which are ruled under the same basic warped theology.
You accused me of apologizing for Bush when I never did any such thing but instead placed blame on him for failure on WMD and complacency in the face of intel warning us of Al Queda.
So, I can only guess you reached pretty far up your ass for some desperate line of sht in an attempt to make an argument that did not apply to me.
“Are you stoned now or what? That’s it. Probably why you were so nice/civilized earlier and half making sense. Stoned!…….:)”
Nope, I told my wife who was mocking Tony Bennet that he’s not what she thinks.
I turned my laptop back on to google his duos with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lady Gaga, Miles Davis etc.
After that my curiosity got the best of me and I hit RP on my tool bar and the ignorant responses I saw pi$$ed me off to no end.
While I tried to make the case for a country being united against evil that intends us harm, was fair about blame, you and Buzz were still mouthing your partisan bullsht attacks on Bush.
Basically, like children, you were justifying bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior and learned a damn thing all day, and obviously the years before today.
If you guys put half as much energy into attacking our enemies as you do conservatives we could stand a much better chance of containing a threat much older than any of our parties.
But, God forbid y’all pull your heads out of your bigoted asses long enough to see that.
I too an guilty of partisan bickering, but at least can back up once in a while and see the real problem needing solving.
And do apologize occasionally for my loss of composure and sometimes short shortsightedness.
I cant say the same for you and Buzz.
I’ve offered Buzz the olive branch before. Even defended him against righties who were unfair to him.
Instead hes always resorted back to retarded rhetoric and insults to ones intelligence or gets vulgar without profanity by making absolutely baseless accusations and presumptions.
I’ve been through this often, I’ve been posting here for years. The staff has seen me try to create productive civil discourse with liberals, apologize for my bad behavior, applied self depreciating humor to myself, and it always ends the same way.
You morons blow it everytime you cant win an argument.
I’ve held Bush accountable for many things, immigration, making use of an allowing the CRA to continue its destruction, staying in Afghanistan too long, ignoring allied intel that proved worthy, patriot act being too extensive, and more.
Be nice to hear those of you on the left “just once” start holding the present ass hole in office accountable instead of defending every fricking thing he does.
Only then will these discussions not be rendered jokes by those who wish the total elimination of one party or another.
If you want a one party state so freaking bad move to the middle east.
But be warned.
As much as the left likes to coddle, appease, and justify these ass holes actions they are no friends of gays, capitalists,Christians, Atheists, abortions, feminists or anyone whos heart who bleeds for victims of human rights violations.
And dont even think of protesting.
Weve seen how well that worked for every Arab Spring participant.
Educate yourself on these ass holes, they are your enemy, not me, not the right, not the Christians.
You sound young and never looked evil in the eye nearly as much as I have.
Your arguments are not based on a rational fear.
Obamas foreign policies are an abysmal failure. But you go ahead and defend them and whoever else you think are victims of those evil Republicans.
I guarantee you nothing but more of the same from the man who allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to sit up front n center in his Cairo speech after they had been banned from Egyptian soil since their assassination of Sadat.
And dont tell me they were members of the Parliament. They were still banned from being inside Egyptian borders.
Study their history. They are the ones who’ve maintained the centuries old evil doctrine as the inspiration and motivation behind every radical Muslim organization in the Middle East today.
Once you learn enough of them you might develop the courage to ask this jerk in office what the hell he was thinking this whole time and not worry so much about those, who faulty as they were, actually had the balls to go after these guys.
You keep making this about me, Bush, or anyone whos not in charge anymore..
you lose

“As for Susan Rice, be careful what you guys wish for. She’s about the closest thing to a Neo-Con-Interventionist there is in the Obama admin.”
As I thought so also.
While Obama may be fulfilling some idealism it may be blinding him to the fact that this woman looks and carrys herself like she takes no sht.
Being of the opinion that shes more a victim of her idiot boss than her own shortcomings I actually feel sorry for her.
In the end I’ll bet she wants to get out of the middle and as far away from these morons as possible.
But, I’m a misogynist and a racist so what do I know ?
November 30th, 2012 at 2:29 pm
Andy – “……I suppose these are mute points but maybe, just maybe, the reason why there was no ruckus over embassy attacks during the Bush years was because administration officials were running around blaming some dumb video that practically nobody saw….”
Why do you guys keep going with this “video nobody heard of” BS?
Just Google MUHAMMAD+VIDEO+PROTESTS. As I recall, the right was claiming the Middle East was “on fire” over the video at the time, and said the OVER 40 world-wide protests were due to Obama’s failed foreign policy.
So now you guys say nobody saw it? So what if they didn’t SEE it, WORD of it spread and lead to global anti-US protests in Muslim countries. So if you want to play semantics……go ahead.
“Benghazi is an issue because Obama made it one. He was pretty quick to jump out and reveal classified info while taking his victory lap for bin Laden.”
What did he reveal that was classified. All I recall was the GOP whining because they didn’t get enough details and that Obama refused to release photos of OBL.
As for Rice, she doesn’t make policy and Obama is known for wanting a variety of opinions from his cabinet and staff. With Obama you don’t see major cabinet people like a Rumsfeld or Powell resigning over issues/in-fighting.
November 30th, 2012 at 4:14 pm
“Today, Obama is concerned over the movement of Syrias WMD. Where the hell did they come from ?”
Wow, still looking?
November 30th, 2012 at 4:30 pm
Even if I was doing something as ill-informed as invading Iraq I guarantee you I would have found WMD’s.
I said it at the time as I didn’t think anything would be found that the first CIA agents that entered Iraq should have had shovels.
For what?
For burying old oil drums with chemical weapons inside and Arabic writing on the side. I would have found them everywhere and also found “recently abandoned” bio-chemical factories (once I could get the price tags off of some of it and managed to “rust-it-up”).
Geez, isn’t that what the CIA is paid for?
George Tenet should have known if he was going to say it was a “slam dunk” that there were WMD’s he should have taken steps to make sure that it came “true”.
It would have been beneficial for our perception all over the world and simply led to a more favorable outcome. A few photo ops and that is that. Who was going to call you on it?
November 30th, 2012 at 5:40 pm
“Even if I was doing something as ill-informed as invading Iraq I guarantee you I would have found WMD’s.”
WTF is wrong with you people ?
Theres a mountain of evidence proving acts of war against us by Saddam.
“But, but, WMD”
Didnt matter
“But, but, WMD”
He shot at our planes hundreds of times
“But, but, WMD”
He sent suicide bombers into Afghanistan.
“But, but, WMD”
He violated every peace treaty and sanction set by the U.S. and U.N.
“But, but, WMD”
Saddam confessed, he wanted to appear as having WMD.
“But, but, WMD”…
==============
“Wow, still looking?”
India sold them the equipment.
November 30th, 2012 at 6:09 pm
Huh, funny Bush didn’t use that justification. Or did he? I lost track of them all.
November 30th, 2012 at 6:54 pm
“Bush didn’t use that justification.”
Actually, up above, I supplied a whole sht load of links to testimony given to the UN and congress by him and his administration stating all offenses.
Even democrats saw the same intel from numerous countries and thought the same thing bringing a majority of dems voting to invade.
Saddam was tried, convicted, sentenced, and executed under a sovereign democratic Iraq that did not care about finding WMD.
Reagan supplied Saddam with WMD to fight Iran, he did use mustard/nerve agents on Iranians, but also killed 5,000 of his own citizens and injured 10,000 with the same agent.
After invading Kuwait our relationship with him changed as much of the middle east expressed they’re concerns to us about Saddam. The Saudis were scared shtless of him.
His people were starving.
He had killed hundreds of thousands of them. The mass graves, jails and camps being found on a regular basis over the first few years of the war.
And you morons are still bellyaching over WMD instead of thanking the volunteers who changed the country and world for the better
November 30th, 2012 at 9:02 pm
Micky – You look like a clown defending Bush’s blunder.
“He shot at our planes….blah, blah!!”
Well, like I said, that WASN’T ANY PART of what the administration gave as it’s reasons for invasion as presented to the UN. Which is why the U.N. NEVER authorized Bush’s invasion.
At this point, this whole discussion is just a sophomoric face-saving exercise for you.
I’m done with it.
Buzz/Crash……give it up. This guy is like one of those birthers. They’ll NEVER admit they were wrong. Call him a “Busher” if you like…..lol.

Micky,
The Liberal Moonbats always forget how GW Bush had a whole laundry list of reasons for invading Iraq, starting with Saddam’s failure, after ten years, to comply with the 17 UN resolutions as part of the cease fire agreement.
YES! Gulf War I ended with a cease fire, based on Iraq’s complying with a whole host of terms, none of which they ever did.
Oh, BTW, if you go back to the period leading up to the Iraq War, there was a story that appeared in several international news agencies, including a few here in the USA, about how Iraq was smuggling chemical weapons into Syria for safe keeping.

RonM,
The video, which came out in early July, only had about 3,000 views by 9/11/2012. Other than the initial protest in Cairo, which was led by five people with ties to Al Qaeda, including the brother of the Blind Shiekh, all of those other protests came on days after the Benghazi attack, which Obama blamed on the video. For several days leading up to the Cairo protest, local Islamist newspapers in Egypt were calling for protests to secure the release of the Blind Shiekh. Also, Al Qaeda had been buzzing about attacking U.S. embassies before hand as well, including the killing or kidnapping of U.S. diplomats.

“Well, like I said, that WASN’T ANY PART of what the administration gave as it’s reasons for invasion as presented to the UN. Which is why the U.N. NEVER authorized Bush’s invasion.”
Bullsht.
Who cares if the U.N. authorized the war ?
Saddam violated every one of the UN sanctions you moron.
We do not need their permission to defend ourselves.
And yes, I gave you links to where all reasons for invasion were given by Bush and Co. to congress.
Or can you not fcking read ?
“at this point, this whole discussion is just a sophomoric face-saving exercise for you.”
I’ve lost no face, but you lead with your ass and lost it.
“I’m done with it.”
Fcking right you are !
You have provided nothing but an opinion that it was a mistake.
Whoopy-d-fckin-doo for you.

Also, I’m not an idiot birther.
I believe Obama is legally our president.
I do believe “Muslim” is given as religion on his long form bc.
I do not believe he’s a Muslim, but is overly sympathetic to them.
My wife was born here shortly after Obama, she is documented as Christian.
The real question, or presentation, is this, and it points out your conflicted idiocy.
First you say Bush invaded by mistake, ignored the absence of WMD;
“That idiot Bush. The only leader of a major world power in recorded world HISTORY to start a war BY MISTAKE! ”
Then you say it was planned all along;
“But the Bush administration clearly had its own timetable for military action.”
So tell me Ron, did all the Dems who voted “yes” to go to war make the same mistake ?
Or, were they in on this same agenda and timetable also ?
Lemme guess again, your bs excuses will be…
A-”He knew way ahead of time that there was no WMD and his intentional deception was the “mistake” in itself.”
B- “Bush lied so he could steal the oil.”
C- “Bush was just mad because Saddam threatened to kill his daddy.”
D- “The whole FBI interrogation never happened, and if it did agent Piro was also lying to protect Bush”
Did I forget anything ?
