Wednesday was a great day. Like so many of us, I spent it gloating shamelessly over the Wisconsin election. The old media and the rest of the left didn’t want to talk about it much and by Thursday morning they had wiped their noses and moved on.
OK. That’s fine with me. 24 hours of gloating is ample. Besides, Thursday has been a pretty busy day too. Eric Holder faced off against a clearly frustrated Darrell Issa. Issa and the rest of his committee have been trying to get answers from Holder for a year or more about Fast and Furious but continue to get nothing but wide-eyed arrogance and “it wasn’t me.”
Remember the cartoon The Family Circus? There’s one in which all the kids are standing around a broken lamp, looking very innocent, pointing to a shadowy figure on the other side of the room who has across his chest the words “I dunno.” Every time I see Holder testify, I’m oddly reminded of that cartoon.
We also had members of our intelligence committees, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, saying that some people in Washington need to shut their yaps and stop giving out all our classified info in an attempt to make our president seem like John Rambo.
And a very strange story today about something called SWAT-ting. I heard about this several days ago and honestly thought it was a hoax. But it seems to be the real thing. Someone is targeting conservative commentators. They call the police and report a violent crime in progress at the home of the targeted commentator, usually in the middle of the night. The SWAT team responds and the expected fiasco plays out.
No one has been hurt yet, but it’s been a frightening experience for those involved and of course, a huge waste of resources. Sen. Saxby Chambliss has asked Holder to investigate. Not holding my breath on this one.
Reviewing the events of the day and tossing in a few other current items – Holder blocking states from cleaning up their voter rolls, Wasserman Schultz insisting the Wisconsin election was a win for Obama, Bill Clinton talking in circles – and I am struck by their behavior. It seems to me that progressives don’t have boundaries. Nothing is sacred and nothing is above the desire to obtain and retain power.
Not the truth, not the law and not even the security of our nation.

I dont think these titles are going to matter much in a couple decades.
Sure,we’ll all claim representation on some basic level.
But, the are no more democrats like the ones that nuked an enemy, twice.
There are no more republicans like Reagan who got double dared by the flight controllers union and did in fact keep his promise and fire all their asses.
Were all becoming hybrids of our own morality which leaves those campaigning having to be telepathic chameleons.
Like with this jerk now, who others and I warned the country of.
We’ll see more and more of this kind of instability in all facets of private and public life.
We will simply be “progressing” the same way the Constitution, our Bible, the Tora are all being interpreted to back up our promiscuities be it physical or financial

Oh memories, that gold mine of comedy… Family Circus.
You may have thought F.C. was funny because (A) you are a Republican, and (2) the actual joke, “Ida Know“, is even LESS funny than the not-at-all-a-joke “I Dunno” character you invented.
Who thought it was funny?
Not Me.

Kathy said she was reminded of the character from Family Circus, she never said she thought it was funny. I guess we can add reading comprehension to the list of liberal shortcomings.

The world of blogging is a wonderful place. You meet all kinds of people – even experts on the Family Circus. Who knew?!
Sorry Me, for not getting the cartoon right. It’s probably been decades since I last saw it. Guess my memory isn’t what it used to be.
But I promise that the next time I reference it, I’ll check with you first. Again, so sorry if I offended you (or any other Family Circus officianados out there.)

Anyone who raised children in the 60s, 70s and 80s very much identifies with Family Circus. How anyone can relate it to “Republicans” more than mystifies me. Never-the-less, Kathy’s depiction of Eric Holder is quite accurate, and indeed, it’s not funny. It’s appalling.

I was always more of a Charles Addams kind of guy when it comes to cartoons.

Me is now judging what is funny and what isn’t? Is there anything in which Me isn’t an expert?

ME:
“Who thought it was funny?
Not Me.”
I grew up getting a few chuckles out of FC and had no political views at all.
If you were a little kid or an adult and never got little grin out of it once in a while you must be like a dry f***

Right about boundaries. Their playbook is anything goes when fighting for ideology, which is why Obama is a disciple of Bill Ayers. It’s all in his book Prarie Fire. The lack of boundaries is why lefties have a lot of blood on their hands throughout history.
