Wednesday was a great day. Like so many of us, I spent it gloating shamelessly over the Wisconsin election. The old media and the rest of the left didn’t want to talk about it much and by Thursday morning they had wiped their noses and moved on.

OK. That’s fine with me. 24 hours of gloating is ample. Besides, Thursday has been a pretty busy day too. Eric Holder faced off against a clearly frustrated Darrell Issa. Issa and the rest of his committee have been trying to get answers from Holder for a year or more about Fast and Furious but continue to get nothing but wide-eyed arrogance and “it wasn’t me.”

Remember the cartoon The Family Circus? There’s one in which all the kids are standing around a broken lamp, looking very innocent, pointing to a shadowy figure on the other side of the room who has across his chest the words “I dunno.” Every time I see Holder testify, I’m oddly reminded of that cartoon.

We also had members of our intelligence committees, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, saying that some people in Washington need to shut their yaps and stop giving out all our classified info in an attempt to make our president seem like John Rambo.

And a very strange story today about something called SWAT-ting. I heard about this several days ago and honestly thought it was a hoax. But it seems to be the real thing. Someone is targeting conservative commentators. They call the police and report a violent crime in progress at the home of the targeted commentator, usually in the middle of the night. The SWAT team responds and the expected fiasco plays out.

No one has been hurt yet, but it’s been a frightening experience for those involved and of course, a huge waste of resources. Sen. Saxby Chambliss has asked Holder to investigate. Not holding my breath on this one.

Reviewing the events of the day and tossing in a few other current items – Holder blocking states from cleaning up their voter rolls, Wasserman Schultz insisting the Wisconsin election was a win for Obama, Bill Clinton talking in circles – and I am struck by their behavior. It seems to me that progressives don’t have boundaries. Nothing is sacred and nothing is above the desire to obtain and retain power.

Not the truth, not the law and not even the security of our nation.
