We have already seen the beginnings of this strategy by the Media to attack Mitt Romney for his being a Mormon when Lawrence O′Donnell launched an anti-Mormon campaign on MSNBC. Now the New York Times and the Washington Post have entered the fray this weekend. Despite Barack Obama campaign manager, David Axelrod saying such attacks are inappropriate, the Liberal-biased, pro-Obama Media is determined to smear Romney anyway that they can.

On Saturday, the NY Times published a story by Jodi Kantor who looks into Mitt Romney and how his Mormon faith may influence him as a president. Appearing on where else but MSNBC (coincidence?), Kantor said ″What we were really looking at is the biographical influence of faith on Mitt Romney′s life.″ That sounds nice. While Kantor does not think that Romney would impose Mormon doctrine upon the nation as president, she does seem to be concerned that he prays a lot. Jodi Kantor is also apparently afraid of the Mormon belief that God has a plan for the United States.

But Sunday takes the cake as the Washington Post published a hit piece by Sandhya Somashekhar (say that name five times really fast!) who attempts to tie Mitt Romney to an incident in 1857 known as the Mountain Meadow Massacre. The reporter refers to the event as the ″first 9/11″ in U.S. history, where a wagon train from Arkansas was allegedly attacked by a Mormon militia unit in Utah. The Fancher-Baker party was massacred on its way to California, either by native American Indians hired by a group of Mormons, or a group of rebel Mormons disguised as Indians. Somashekhar even tries to connect this into a blood feud between Romney and Obama as one of the victims, Nathaniel Bunch, may be an ancestor of Obama′s.

So it has begun that the Media will use the Mormon Church against Mitt Romney in an attempt to help reelect Barack Obama. The New York Times and Washington Post have joined in with MSNBC along this line of attack. We can expect much more of this in the months ahead.
