The presumptive 2012 GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, delivered the commencement address at Liberty University today. Among the highlights of his speech was a defense for traditional marriage, that it is only between one man and one woman. Founded 39 years ago by the Reverend Jerry Falwell in Lynchburg, Virginia, Liberty University has grown into a major college campus, appealing to Christian Evangelicals. The Far-Left Media likes to portray the school as controversial due to its strict moral guidelines based upon the Holy Bible. But in his speech today, Mitt Romney told the graduates and their families that morality, opportunity and freedom are very much intertwined with each other. A message we never hear from the current occupant in the White House, Barack Obama.
So while Obama continues his fund raising tour across America, telling people how he often forgets about the recession he has caused, forgetting about the jobs he has destroyed, Mitt Romney speaks in optimistic terms about what is good about America. No apologies, no blame-game, just honest emotions and the pride the truth offers to us all. Yes, to Mitt Romney, all things are possible if we have faith in God, for only then can we truly believe in ourselves.
How refreshing it is to hear a politician talk about the importance of faith in our daily lives! For faith not only moves mountains, but anchors us to a solid bedrock of morality, of common decency. Of course, the Liberals, Progressives and Socialists will scoff at this. They will play up Romney′s opposition to gay marriage as being a sign that he is out of touch with the common American. That there is no decency in such bigotry.
Naturally, the Progressives and their kind fail to comprehend reality. That marriage is a religious sacrament, a promise between a man and a woman before God. While one can argue and allow for same-sex unions, such can never be called a marriage, nor carry its full weight of responsibilities. Already, extremists on the Far-Left are spreading wild tales about how Romney will exterminate all gays, lesbians, transgenders, etc. Locking the up in concentration camps, presumably run by FEMA, so Mitt Romney can shave their heads and use their hair to make Mormon undergarments. What hysterical nonsense!
Today′s commencement address at Liberty University by Mitt Romney was a wonderful speech about the connections between freedom, opportunity and faith in God. Romney showed why he is the presumptive 2012 GOP presidential nominee. Jerry Falwell would have been proud to be in Lynchburg, Virginia to listen to Romney defend traditional American values, including how marriage is only to be between one man and one woman. Mitt Romney is certainly the man of the hour to replace Barack Obama in the White House.

“The recession he has caused”?
Wow, I forgot how he managed to “cause” the recession. I thought it started before he took office.
May 12th, 2012 at 7:39 pm
Well I am sure his speech at the Christian Madrassas will cement his loyalty from the Far Right.
Of course he already has their vote.
“Today′s commencement address at Liberty University by Mitt Romney was a wonderful speech about the connections between freedom, opportunity and faith in God.”
I didn’t realize that faith in God was a necessary component of opportunity and freedom.
I always thought that faith in God was, well, optional, but freedom and opportunity are basic tenets of America regardless of one’s faith, or lack thereof.

Yeah, Liberty University sure sounds like a “fun” college.
In 2009 the Democratic Club was shut down for, well, I guess being Democrats.
The Student Manual says men’s hair should not touch the ears or eyebrows. Yeah, my school was like that, in 1964.
Yes, I am sure Jerry Falwell would be proud.
Of course this is a man that said 9/11 was caused by gays and lesbians and that “Gay folks would just as soon kill you as look at you” (said during his support of Anita Bryant and the Save our Children campaign, although I don’t know what she was saving them from).
He additionally went on to say that, “AIDS is not just God’s punishment for homosexuals, it is God’s punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals.
Wow, he sure had his issues with gay people.
Yeah, that is the love and compassion one should look for in their religous leaders.

Buzz proves once again that there is nobody more insecure than an atheist.
May 13th, 2012 at 4:22 am
Ah, Buzzbee, you keep forgetting my theory that the cash drain that caused the financial collapse began when Obama became the Democrat nominee. But even more specifically, TARP, started under Bush, had already done its job of shoring up the banks before the end of 2008. The Obama Recession is all Obama’s because his policies and failings have let it go on, and on, and on…
May 13th, 2012 at 4:24 am
And, yes, Buzzbee, without God, America would never have become an independent nation. Even foreigners like de Tocqueville saw the relationship between the success of American democracy and our morality, rooted in our faith in God.

Right wing, sure, just another view.
Libertarian, yeah, I get it.
Falwell? That’s where you lost me.

Oh please expand on this theory of yours. I always get a good chuckle when I read your fever-minded bullsh*t.

“If a Republican is a non-believer,he doesn’t go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.”

“Oh please expand on this theory of yours. I always get a good chuckle when I read your fever-minded bullsh*t.”
Actually it was Carters idea and got carried thru by both rinos n moonbats till it finally caught up with itself right when Barry got crowned.
Bush in 8 years smacked 3 trillion on it, mostly wars both parties approved of, then Barry in less than three put the country another 13 trillion in the hole.
On what I’ll never know.
Except that just like that ass-hole Carter, he wants to do it all over again.
The CRA, “community reinvestment act” is now once again upheld by dickhead.
“Lets sell a bunch of houses to a bunch of people who cant afford them again.”
If they dont buy that then they have to buy my crappy insurance, its one or the other….baby !
Happy motherfckers day

“Attention all foodstamp recipients and postal workers.
“B” mart is having a mothers day house sale down any aisle of your choice.
No Mother ?No I.D. ? No credit ?
No problem !!
Hurry now ! When the red lights stop flashing ,it’s all over, last chance !!(not really, all sleazy salesmen say that)

That comes with a free micky shticky

Okay Snow, here we go…
In June 2008, the unemployment rate was 5.5%. While some 438,000 jobs were lost in June, the actual net loss was only 64,000 jobs.
So the American economy, while rattled from the whole Bear Stearns episode, the bubble had yet to burst. Now, Micky is right in that Carter, then Clinton, caused the housing bubble, which technically began to deflate around late 2006-2007. Thanks mainly to Dodd and Frank blocking any efforts by George W. Bush to deal with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
But the Crash in August-September 2008 of Wall Street was touched off by the nomination of Barack Obama. Since all of the polls at the time showed Obama easily beating McCain, it sent a chill up and down investors everywhere. The smart money began to be pulled out and the selling started in earnest.
Don’t laugh, but I recall Kelsey Grammer, who was one of the most successful and richest Hollywood stars when it came to investing on Wall Street, saying around August that he himself had divested himself of stocks, pulling well over $100 Million out of the market.
Why? Because he, and all of the smart money, began to fear an Obama presidency as it would lead to higher taxes and more regulation. Obama all but promised such when he spoke at an event near Wall Street earlier that summer. By the time mid-September rolled along, more than $2 Trillion dollars were pulled out by investors and being held on the sidelines as everyone waited to see what would happen.
May 13th, 2012 at 10:34 am
So, you see, Snow, the financial collapse is very much Obama’s fault. Or should I say, the Democrat Party’s fault for allowing Obama to steal the nomination, through vote fraud during the caucuses and a couple of key primaries, away from Hillary Clinton.
Anyone with half a brain knew that Obama was going to be a lousy president and damage the nation. But, the fools voted him in and with any luck, the fools will replace him with Romney. In 2016, the fools will probably replace him with Jeb Bush. If we still have a country?

Andy:
“The smart money began to be pulled out and the selling started in earnest.”
Yup, I and others forget about the relocations and reallocations that happened when it looked like Karl Marx might be in orifice.
Put in Switzerland, put it in the Caymans, move the factory to China/Japan/Filipines, just get it the hell out of here.
The math is outrageously simple.
Bush racked up 3 trill on things everyone voted for in a 8 year period, alot of which got paid off for by good ole war stimulus. Just as WW2 cleaned up the 30s mess.
Barry racked up 13 trill in an almost 3 year period,
with not a thing to show for it.
Any revenues resulting from Barrys “investments” are equivalent to a gnat on the tip of a Great Danes dick.
You can blame anyone you want. Fact is, Barry hasnt done any explaining except to say “those shovel ready jobs werent so shovel ready”.
Psst, GM still owes billions but gave all union workers 4000.00 bonuses.
Just sayin
May 13th, 2012 at 11:47 am
Yes, Micky,
People also like to forget that pretty much all of the $450 Billion that Bush authorized in the bailouts of the banks and AIG has been paid back. In fact, the money Bush lent out actually gave us a small profit!
But Obama used the crisis to launch his own wild spending frenzy. Trillions of dollars are being wasted. This is why Obama does not want a federal budget, so he can keep spending like some absolute monarch drunk with power.
May 13th, 2012 at 12:51 pm
Yeah, so whats the answer ?
High speed rail ?
Actually makes sense only if the system is designed as a grid topping at all major/international airports.
But fck Harry Reid. Barry owes him a lot, no doubt. And Vegas is one of the last boom towns I think we’ll see. But unless it starts at LAX and goes through downtown or Riverside it does no good stopping at Victor ville. I’ve been there for a week, they would love that traffic.
But no one wants the hassle of park n ride when you can get to Vegas from Victorville in the time it takes you to unload anything in the car, check in, do security, and board the train,
The only good thing about it is you could get 1/3 of the way home eliminating the risk of a DUI.
Keystone is what that money should be invested in because its guaranteed a return on your money as long as gas vehicles take 10-15-20 years to fall apart.
And until you build a green car that can get you to Vegas in comfort with only one stop on the way there the five years it takes to build the pipeline will be worth it.
Besides, theres always McCarran airport.
Folks in L.A. would love the work, but they aint drivin out to Victor ville every day.
I was an Ironworker in L.A., (Steel/Ironworkers Union)once the job got too far away it gets handed off to the municipalates surrounding.
Fckin Victorville is dead, a one hooker town

Buzz:
“Right wing, sure, just another view.”
Yeah, and so is the one up your ass but this is the truth.
“I always thought that faith in God was, well, optional, but freedom and opportunity are basic tenets of America regardless of one’s faith, or lack thereof.”
Yeah, and it was mostly Christian men who agreed the Church and Government do not mix except that your rights are “God” given and kept as yours by those who believe in him or not.
Thats why theres a difference between a Republic and a third world pee pot Theology
May 13th, 2012 at 7:18 pm
Yeah it’s “Obama’s recession” now, but just saying that doesn’t do justice to the incredible damage he has done to Americans over the past four years and would equate his four year economic debacle with other presidents little 12 month recessions from which we easily recovered.
Hard to say who is the “worst” president in history, but Obama is clearly the most unprepared, incompetent, and ineffective. A generation from now, nobody will ever admit to voting for the guy, the Democrats’ version of Nixon. Funny how people bury their bad judgments over time.
