Barack Obama played politics as he flew to Afghanistan on the one anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden yesterday. Meeting Afghan President Hamid Karzai, they signed a deal already negotiated that will keep the United States involved both militarily and financially involved in the war-torn country until 2024. After that, and meeting some troops, Obama then made a televised speech from Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan to the American people, half of the speech had nothing to do with Afghanistan and everything to do with his reelection campaign. Given that it is roughly a 14-hour flight, one-way, at a cost of at least $180,000 an hour, this adventure cost the taxpayers over $5 Million dollars! This farce was made worse when the Taliban, with whom Obama wants to talk peace with, sent another suicide-homicide bomber into the capital city of Kabul, killing 7 Afghans, including four civilians. About 18 others were injured in the explosion.

A few days ago, the Obama reelection campaign released a 7-minute video narrated by former President Bill Clinton, raising the issue that Mitt Romney may not have sent Navy SEALs to get Bin Laden at his Pakistan hide-out. Bad enough that Obama actually thinks he made some ultra-difficult decision, that took him five months to decide, but having Clinton deliver the punch is pure absurdity, given that Billy-Boy blew at least three separate opportunities to kill or capture Osama Bin Laden BEFORE the 9/11 attacks which claimed nearly 3,000 American lives.

Forgotten in all of this is how the only person in the U.S. government who actually said he would not have given the mission a green-light is none other than Obama′s vice president, Joe ′Hair-Plug′ Biden. Biden admitted that he tried to talk Obama out of going through with the raid this past January. So if the American people want to drag politics into this affair, then we should question the wisdom of Obama in keeping Biden around, not to mention taking five months to make his his mind when any rational person would have given the SEALs the green light in under 5 seconds.

So Barack Obama spent at least $5 Million dollars to show-boat himself as some great and wise leader and play politics on the one year anniversary of the death of Osama Bin Laden. Obama secretly flew to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, meeting with our troops and to sign a new 10-year deal with President Hamid Karzai. This at a time when most Americans want us to pull out all of our troops now. The new deal will keep U.S. special forces units in Afghanistan, plus give the country $2 Billion dollars annually, through 2024. The Taliban responded with yet another suicide-homicide bomber killing seven people and wounded 18 in Kabul. The shameless politicizing of the anniversary is about as low as one can go, once more proving Obama being unworthy of a second term.
