The Gulf States and ObamaCare

A few days ago, I wrote a piece here that explained what would be the likely result of the Supreme Court decision making the ObamaCare Medicaid expansion optional rather than mandatory. Gulf States would reject the optional funds unless they were provided with a carrot, so that states from other regions of the country would subsidize them. Politico has decided to look at this same situation today, and comes up with the same conclusion.

Chasing UFOs on National Geographic Channel

Friday night was a two-episode premier of Chasing UFOs on the National Geographic Channel. The new series follows a team of investigators comprising of UFOlogist James Fox, ′radiation scientist′ Ben McGee and the lovely, techno-babe Erin Ryder. There′s a name for a gal in a James Bond movie, and she has the looks to be one, too! The first two episodes track our heroes through mas UFO sightings in Central Texas which occurred between 2008 through 2010, and a wave of sightings in the area around Fresno, California. There were many similarities in both cases as many witnesses reported seeing a massive, triangle-shaped object a mile long which moved without a sound. But did the team find any concrete evidence of alien spacecrafts visiting Earth?

Obama or Romney on Alien Invasion, Poll Asks Who’s Best?

A new poll asks the question as to who would be best, Obama or Romney, on facing an alien invasion? The poll is part of tonight′s premier of ″Chasing UFOs″ on the National Geographic Channel. A new series on the National Geographic Channel featuring UFO investigator James Fox and skeptic Ben McGee. Together they will examine the phenomenon through history to the most current findings. The results of the poll show that 65% think that if aliens attack, Americans pick Obama over Romney. Maybe they think Barack Obama will transform into the Hulk? About 19% of those polled believe that Washington, DC would be the first place where aliens land. Mitt Romney can breathe easy that Utah appears to be safe.

The Unintended Consequences of the Supreme Court’s Health Care Decision

Today, as we know, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare, with one major caveat. The individual mandate was upheld on the basis that it is a tax; however, states cannot be forced to increase its Medicaid funding to pay for the throngs of individuals who will be seeking care under the increased income limits.

Supreme Court Decision – ObamaCare Mandate is a Tax

In a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court decision released today declares that the ObamaCare mandate is a tax! The individual mandate is a key element for funding the Affordable Healthcare Act, requiring all Americans to purchase health insurance. Justice John Roberts sided with the Liberal justices in ruling that Congress has the power to tax and that the mandate is a tax, therefore within their authority to regulate under the Commerce Clause. With that, the fight to repeal ObamaCare now returns squarely on the upcoming elections. But for the moment, Barack Obama and his White House can declare a victory with today′s ruling by the Supreme Court.

To build a Civil War era double-barrel cannon! Jeff, the client, wanted American Guns to build the double-barreled cannon for $16,000, but Rich quoted $24,000. After some haggling and Jeff throwing in some fine pistols, Rich came down to $19,500. But is this enough to build what had been a deadly experimental disaster during the Civil War?
