Occupy Charlotte: I Burned the Flag to show my ‘Utter Contempt’ For America

A member of Occupy Charlotte (North Carolina) is defending the burning of several American flags this weekend saying it was meant to show his “utter contempt” for America and its “greed.”

Alex Tyler, 19, of Fort Mill, NC, was arrested on Friday along with four other Occupiers and charged with setting fire to the brush area where Occupy tenters had been camping.

Also charged were Jason Bagert, 28; Michael Behrle, 23; and Stephen Morris, 20. Bagert has been identified as a leader and spokesman for Occupy Charlotte in the past but conveniently, now other members of the encampment say he is no longer their spokesman.

Barack Obama 2012 New Years Resolution – Forget Congress

Barack Obama has a New Years resolution to start 2012 off, to stop working with the U.S. Congress. So says the Associated Press after a daily briefing in Honolulu with White House spokesman, Josh Earnest. The idea being that Obama will try to do more through executive orders rather than deal with the House and Senate. Of course, this raises the question, when has Barack Obama really tried to work with the Congress? Even when he was a U.S. Senator, Obama did very little work on Capitol Hill. The Obama administration has shown itself to be one of the worst ever in presidential history when it comes to managing a legislative agenda. Just look at the facts.

Newsmax 30-minute Infomercial for Newt Gingrich

After two weeks of non-stop attack ads against Newt Gingrich by Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, and their Super-PACs, somebody is finally going to bat for Newt. Rather than just airing some short attack ad, the Conservative news website, Newsmax, will air a 30-minute documentary. Narrated by Michael Reagan, son of Ronald Reagan, the documentary does not formally endorse Gingrich, but does make a very strong case for why he is the best candidate of the current field. Michael Reagan has personally endorsed Gingrich. Another 30-minute ad is being run by Liberty University, which has had a close relationship with Gingrich for many years.

2012 Might be the Year of Orwell for Your Kids

Thanks to the Obama administration’s Department of Education, new rules have taken effect that may end up allowing the federal government to have your child’s education and school-collected medical records gathered into a national student data base. Soon the feds may have the ability to track your child from birth, though school, right to the workforce, and perhaps beyond. Does this seem Orwellian? It should.

Oh, this wasn’t supposed to happen, of course. Current federal law is supposed to prohibit the Department of Education from creating this national student database. Naturally, like with most of what Obama’s administration does, the Dept. of Ed is simply ignoring the law and doing whatever it wants.

Newt Gingrich Channels Hillary Clinton

So now, we are witnessing the final stages of the implosion of the Newt Gingrich presidential campaign. And true to form, he has decided to follow in the footsteps of his fellow narcissist, Hillary Clinton. As some of us may recall, when Hillary saw that she was likely to face defeat in the New Hampshire primary in 2008, she sat in front of her acolytes, began bemoaning that she was apparently going to lose (this was before she and her husband decided to embark on their slash and burn campaign to try to win the nomination, and started to cry. Her ‘tears’ led to an increased turnout which brought her a come from behind victory in that primary and allowed her to remain in the race long after it was mathematically impossible for her to actually win the Democratic nod (see video below).

Top Scandals of 2011

Recalling the top scandals of 2011 is fairly easy this year, as they were so scandalous. In recent months we had the Penn State scandal of alleged sexual abuse by former coach Jerry Sandusky, Herman Cain suspending his campaign over harassment allegations, the Justin Bieber paternity suit and Hank Williams Jr. being fired by Monday Night Football for remarks he made about Barack Obama. Earlier this year we had the News Corp phone hacking scandal, the Arnold Schwarzenegger love child ending his marriage, the Charlie Sheen meltdown, the Anthony Weiner Twitter photos and the International Monetary Fund head, Dominique Strauss-Kahn rape charges. Add to that the Solyndra bankruptcy and Operation Fast and Furious and we have a pretty full year of scandals for everybody.

Cop Drive Drunk at 143 MPH, Union Reuses to Let Him Get Fired!

These are the kind of stories that makes one shake his head both in disgust and bewilderment. The Denver police union has stuck up for a brother… one that was driving drunk at 143 MPH endangering fellow officers and the public alike. Why? Because unions are stupid, that’s why.

The officer, Derrick Curtis Saunders, was clocked at 143 MPH by a Colorado State Patrolman. When the trooper stopped Saunders he discovered the off-duty Denver policeman was also drunk. Not only that but the drunk officer driving at 88 MPH above the posted speed limit was doing all this in a borrowed car. He also endangered a passenger in that car! There are so many violations of standards, the law, good sense and trustworthiness that it boggles the mind here.
