Super Bowl Parties

It is that time of year again. People are gearing up as usual for the obligatory Super Bowl party. Some people are going to less extremes though in this rough economic environment. Read more, see pictures and videos below.

Super Bowl XLIII Party

Various electronic and food producers are reporting that sales from this time last are way down. Not as many folks are rushing out there to buy those big screen TVs and excess food and beer. The parties are still happening. People are just keeping them simple. They are keeping the football shaped candles, and themed napkins and such to a minimum. Big chain pizza delivery services are keeping there fingers crossed that business will still be big on this day for them. No telling how that will play out.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama is keeping to his word that we don’t need no blue or red America. He has invited several Republicans to the White House to watch the Super Bowl with others of his Democrat buddies. The one thing we can say for Mr. Obama here at Rightpundits.com is that he is a Steelers fan. See here for a list of folks invited to his party.

Finally, the big red carpet super bowl parties, that are supposed to be some of the biggest of the year, have been a bust. Reports say that Linday Lohan was the only one to show up to one. She had no one to talk to. Even Maxim’s party in Tampa, which claimed to have big names show up, was lame. What gives? Is the bad economy effecting hollywood too?

If you are looking to keep the budget low, but want some tasty food for your party, see my friends at Right Cuisine for all your taste needs.

Super Bowl Commercials: GoDaddy Danica Patrick

Nobody has cornered the market on racy ads like the website GoDaddy.com. This year is no different, despite having a history of making ads that are not suitable to be aired on television during the big game, they have worked that to their advantage. Read more below, see photos and videos.

Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick

GoDaddy has made a killing by making ads specifically for web consumption only. This year Danica Patrick, the current and most famous spokesmodel for GoDaddy, will appear in an ad that will run on Super Bowl Sunday on their website.

Danica Patrick is, although you wouldn’t know by looking at her, an Indy Car racer; and a good one at that. With her win in April of 2008 at the Indy Japan 300, she proved that she wasn’t just another pretty face on the racing circuit. But, Danica is pretty smart as well. She has used the gifts God gave her to become very wealthy. She has modeled for FHM and Sports Illustrated, and is now the face of GoDaddy [Dot] com.

Think about how many people (men) will tune out of the game on Sunday and fire up their computers and visit GoDaddy [dot] com to see the outcome of the teaser video below. This writer probably will, just for research purposes only.

Super Bowl: Steelers Parade

Should the Steelers win Super Bowl XLIII, there will be no victory parade in the home city of Pittsburgh, – or will there?

Pittsburgh PA

Pittsburgh, PA – Home of the Pittsburgh Steelers

Last Wednesday, January 21st, WPXI Channel 11 Television reported that “city sources” said there would not be a parade in Pittsburgh if the Steelers win the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy this Sunday. It would be a “budget buster,” they said.

The last Steeler Victory Parade in 2006 drew 250,000 fans and a “safety nightmare.” It cost the city $45,000.00 for security and clean-up.

Now just a few days before the Bowl game, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said the “idea is still alive” if the Steelers win. Ravenstahl says he has been hesitant to talk about it because he doesn’t want to jinx the team.

Angry fans arrived at the Super Bowl Rally at the Allegheny County Courthouse bearing signs and ill will for city officials. A spokesman, Kevin Evanto assured the crowd that “we anticipate a parade in Downtown Pittsburgh – whatever the team wants, we’re going to work with them.”
