The Plot Thickens on Obama ′Wiretapping′ of Trump

Much of The Media is focused this week on the story of how House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes had met with his whistle-blower contact on ′the White House grounds′, in order to access a secure computer to read classified documents. Of course, there was no crime committed in this as Nunes is already cleared to read such material and did so from a secure location. There is no such access available on Capitol Hill. Meanwhile, reporters John Solomon and Sara Carter of Circa.com have been following the trail using their own sources, a trail which allegedly leads to several key figures in the Obama administration. NSA intercepts containing the names of American citizens mentioned during conversations by foreign nationals are supposed to be ′masked′ or ′minimized′ to conceal their identities. But Barack Obama had loosened the rules, specifically Section 702 of FISA shortly before leaving office. Among potential suspects who may have allegedly unmasked the names of Trump, his family members and transition team aides were Susan Rice, John Brennan and Loretta Lynch.

Ted Koppel Fake News – Sean Hannity ‘Bad For America’

Ted Koppel showed us on Sunday that he can churn out ′Fake News′ with the best of them. The alleged ′journalist′ conducted an interview with Sean Hannity about two weeks ago. Over 50 minutes of which was recorded. However, when the piece was aired this past Sunday morning on CBS, only some 70 seconds of the interview between Ted Koppel and Sean Hannity was shown. The focus of the segment was for Ted Koppel to trash-talk Hannity, along with the rest of talk radio and ′Conservative Media′ as being ″bad for America.″ In Koppel′s puny mind, the American people are stupid and need to have all of their news filtered by the Liberal Media. Otherwise, they might do something awful, like vote for Republican candidates.

Would Ted Poe and Freedom Caucus Survive the Zombie Apocalypse?

The big news today is that Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) has resigned from the House Freedom Caucus as he had wanted to vote for the Paul Ryan health care bill. According to Rep. Poe, he was not alone as perhaps a dozen or more members of this very-Conservative, GOP caucus, were ready to support the bill, primarily to end Obamacare and to give President Donald Trump a legislative victory. However, the Freedom Caucus votes as a unified block and the majority, led by Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), opposed the American Health Care Act. This majority stood on principle, which is a fine and noble thing. But, very often principle does not get the job at hand done. A good example of this was seen last night in our favorite Zombie Apocalypse TV series, ″The Walking Dead″.

Mountain Monsters – The Worst Show on TV

Once in a while I need a break from writing about politics. So what could be better than an article on television? Well, folks, if you want to get a chuckle from the worst, most fake TV show being aired, check out ″Mountain Monsters″ on the Destination America channel. This show is so bad that even I cannot find the right words to describe just how bad it is! I′d like to say that its a cross between ″Duck Dynasty″ and ″Kolchak: The Night Stalker″. But, I′m afraid that such a statement would be a compliment!

Postmortem – Health Care Vote Canceled

Speaker Paul Ryan decided late yesterday that the health care vote should be canceled. This decision was made after he spoke with President Donald Trump and informed him that they were still short enough votes to pass the American Health Care Act, or AHCA. With no Democratic votes to count on, House Republicans needed 216 votes committed from their own party. Ryan and his leadership team did not have it. After several GOP members left Congress to accept roles in the Trump administration, there were 237 left. According to several accounts in The Media, as many as 25-30 House Republicans were going to vote ′No′ on the AHCA. Most of the No-Votes would have come from members of the ′Freedom Caucus′.

Paul Ryan – Do or Die on GOP Healthcare Bill

Today may be ′Do or Die′ for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan as Congress prepares to vote on the GOP Healthcare Bill. Nicknamed ′RyanCare′, the American Health Care Act of 2017 may be headed for rocky shores as many Republicans in the House of Representatives still have issues with it. President Donald Trump has worked hard in trying to negotiate enough compromises to satisfy the various GOP factions. But it is starting to look like that he has decided that the AHCA just is not worth expending any more time or political capital on. President Trump was upset that the scheduled vote on Thursday night was postponed and wants a vote today. If the vote fails, then he is ready to move on and start working on tax reform, which many say he should have done first anyway.

President Trump Vindicated by Devin Nunes on ‘Incidental’ Surveillance

The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes, says that there was ″incidental collection″ of communications of President-Elect Donald Trump and his transition team just after the 2016 elections. This news does vindicate President Trump after his observation of various news media stories about how Trump Tower may have been ″wiretapped″ by the Obama administration. Even when pressed by reporters, Nunes said he could not ″rule out″ the possibility that Barack Obama or his senior staff were aware of this ′incidental′ monitoring. Nunes also confirms that the reports he has seen, numbered in the dozens, had nothing to do with Russia nor the Russian hacking probe. Here is what the hub-bub is all about…
