Joe - good points.

Kiva - you have a nice website there at http://oraibi.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the visit.

Blog-hole - the problem is the drag on resources. That is also part of the problem in Europe, for example, the French riots that occurred last year.

This is a fine example of what happens when a country, any country, has an open door policy (or a no control over its borders to prevent illegal immigration) that lets huge numbers of foreigners immigrate without requiring at least some degree of assimilation.

Psst, where was Umran Javed born?

I see that one of my intelligent, closely argued comments has been deleted by Joe Citizen because he decided RETROACTIVELY to close comments on his little post with the survey about Iraq policy. Out of protest, I will not post again on this site for at least 24 hours.

Joe Citizen directs our attention to illegal immigrants from Mexico. As a cultural conservative, Joe should properly view these folks as Christians who strenthen the Christian culture here in the U.S. Thanks to all these millions of Mexicans, America is becomming more Christian, rather than less. There is no analogy between this and the social problems in Europe.

You are right to be conflicted by this verdict, but what else can be done. This is a fine example of what happens when a country, any country, has an open door policy (or a no control over its borders to prevent illegal immigration) that lets huge numbers of foreigners immigrate without requiring at least some degree of assimilation.

In the United States, the May Day protests of Mexican nationals, and other Hispanics, where thousands upon thousands of foreigners brought several major cities to a grinding halt in order to bully our government were made possible simply because we have allowed so many people to just waltz across the southern border, they think that they can do as they please now because of their numbers.

The truth is, if we have to bend the rules a bit in order to achieve control over the situation, so be it. If you allow it to continue unchecked, it will just keep getting worse.

Look at it like this, in England, yesterday the Muslims felt comfortable enough threaten, but tomorrow they will be comfortable to start killing (and as we know too well, some of them already have a head start over the others). It’s all about natural progression.

I hope this shortened version of what I have on my mind came together enough for you to understand.
