Mccain makes a halloween visit to the troops in Afghanistan.Just as he’s filmed sipping coffee with some soldiers in the middle of nowhere,a tall bearded guy on a moped zips by and lobs a grenade. Mccain picks it up and throws it back,detonating and knocking the rider from the moped injured but not dead.All this caught on film,Mccain calmly walks over, realizes it’s Bin Laden,and holds him down as the soldiers tie him up to be brought back alive.

Aroth. That wouldn’t really be an October Surprise. The Surprise is something one side springs on the other.

BTW, the VP debate is going to be a rehearsed, prepared format. Meaning, like most debates, neither side will produce anything more than a bunch of vetted soundbites. Nothing will come of the debate.

I also love how dropping Palin has become the latest rumor. One week ago, Obama was supposedly dropping Biden for Clinton. Things change in a week.

I vote for “McCain unceremoniously drops Palin from his campaign after she gets torn to shreds by Biden in the VP debate”. It’s not clear who that would benefit though. It paints McCain in a bad light, but at the same time, getting rid of Palin can only make the McCain ticket stronger in the end.

This is an awesome article. Thanks.

I think the 2000 DUI surprise almost threw the election. Recalling that Bush was ahead by 3-4 points leading up to the final weekend. And we are still feeling the political pain of that narrow loss for Democrats, a weakened president from day 1.

I don’t think the Willie Horton ad mattered to the outcome as much as Democrats like to carp about it.

Young Dem, #3 would probably be better for McCain than Obama. After all, some of Obama’s best friends are homegrown rich terrorists.

4 and 5 wouldn’t be surprises as they wouldn’t be smearing disclosures.

1 and 2, who knows? Maybe it’s out there.
