It’s a great analysis of this ad and near the bottom is a break-down of all the crazy illusions to the rapture, the Left Behind series, Obama being the anti-Christ, Revelation, and a plethora of other religious icons and imagery. This ad isn’t a joke and it was not made light-heartedly, as the McCain camp has said. Every word and scene was deliberate and potentially damaging to the Obama campaign because it feeds on people’s misguided fears. McCain is a practical man and I don't consider this a truly negative add as its simply saying what many of us have been noticing. McCain seems more one of us that way. You don't have to be braindead for McCain, but someone has to challenge the democrats poor assessment of our national intelligence. I thought this ad really got to the point without being a bunch of b.s. itself. Nice for a change. That is his specialty, the media. He has worked it brilliantly. That is hollywood's specialty is the popular media and making things nationally acceptable with the lowest common denominator. Its all very managed, what you are seeing, and the fact that its gone over the top is because nobody has really used the leverage of the multiplatformed media yet. Mistakes will be made.
