I have my ticket, do you have yours as the Powerball jackpot tops $600 Million dollars? This Saturday night, the jackpot could be much larger as long lines of eager dreamers buy more tickets. Friday morning, it stood at $550 Million and if no one should win, some lottery officials think that the next drawing could top the One-Billion-Dollar mark! On Wednesday night, the Powerball jackpot was $360 Million. Iowa Loterry spokesperson, Mary Neubauer is urging players not to be irresponsible. Realistically, one easy-pick ticket is as good a bet as a hundred thought-out sets of numbers. The Mega Millions lottery jackpot of $190 Million dollars was won last night by tickets purchased in New Jersey and Virginia, so next Tuesday′s drawing will restart again at $19 Million dollars. So are you caught up in lottery fever?

According to CBS News reporter John Miller, the Boston bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, left a message in the boat he was captured in explaining why he and his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, carried out their Boston Marathon attack. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev allegedly said in his note that the two brothers carried out their terrorist attack in response to the U.S. military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq. That the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings were merely ″collateral damage″ and that ″When you attack one Muslim, you attack all Muslims.″ The message was apparently written on one of the interior walls of the boat he had been hiding in after wounded during the gun battle in Watertown the night before his arrest. Was it a manifesto or a suicide note?

Barack Obama announced yesterday that Steven Miller, the acting head of the Internal Revenue Service, is stepping down as the IRS – Tea Party scandal appears to be widening in scope. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to answer many new questions from the press, citing an ′ongoing investigation′ by the Justice Department. However, we are learning that the bureaucratic tom-foolery went well beyond just non-profit groups with ′Tea Party′ or ′9/12 Project′ in their names. Many groups dedicated to teaching the Constitution were also targeted, as well as some religious groups, including pro-Jewish organizations and Christians. We have also learned this week that many Liberal and Progressive groups were essentially ′rubber-stamped′ gaining their non-profit status, including one organization run by Obama′s half-brother.

A new salt study seems to show that there are no health benefits for a low sodium diet. In fact, such may have a negative impact on a person′s health. Two studies were published in the JAMA Internal Medicine online magazine this week concerning salt intake. One from the Institute of Medicine, commissioned by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claims that that there is no real reason to reduce salt intake below 2,300 milligrams per day. Although Dr. Brian Strom of the University of Pennsylvania is not opposed to a low-sodium diet, he does say, ″…there is simply a lack of data that shows it is beneficial.″ Meanwhile, second report which also appeared in this week′s Journal of the American Medical Association warns that there is still too much salt in restaurant food. Dr. Stephen Havas of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine led a study by the Center for Science in Public Interest that looked at processed and fast foods from 2005 through 2011. Sodium levels only dropped 3.5% in processed foods and only 2.6% by fast food vendors.

Move over Obama-IRS scandal. Make some room, Benghazi-Gate. Barack Obama and his administration find themselves embroiled in yet another new scandal. This time over the Justice Department secretly seizing the phone records of the Associated Press! Yes, the call logs of at least 20 phone accounts, including some home and cell phone numbers, were obtained by the Justice Department as part of an investigation into National Security leaks. As many as 100 AP reporters and some editors may have been the subject of this secret probe as Obama-plumbers try to plug leaks stemming from a terror plot from Yemen which was exposed. Yet another indication of the contempt the Obama White House has for the press, as well as average Americans like those of the Tea Party and other groups who were the target of bureaucratic mischief by the Internal Revenue Service. Just as Obama and his minions showed contempt as they and underlings in the State Department lied to cover up mistakes made during the Benghazi terror attack.

The IRS apologizes to the Tea Party and other Conservative groups for targeting them on their 501C non-profit status. Lois Lerner, an official with the Internal Revenue Service issued the formal apology on Friday. The initial story appears to be that at least one IRS employee in Cincinnati flagged applications for non-profit status by any groups with the words ′Tea Party′ or ′Patriot′ in their names since 2011. The applications were delayed and demands were made for more information from such political groups, such as donors lists, Facebook postings, emails, and any contact with lawmakers. Congress plans to probe into this via its authority over the Treasury Department. Jay Carney says that the White House had nothing to do with the targeting. Even the ACLU is outraged over this action by our government.

ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl caused quite a stir resulting in another Jay Carney press conference that was entertaining, to say the least. Karl′s story was an expansion from previous ones done by others, such as Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard concerning State Department emails to the White House over the Benghazi talking points memo from last September. Fox News and CBS News had reported back then about how the memo, used by U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice on Sunday morning talks shows, were modified. Last September, Jay Carney said that the White House only made one minor ″stylistic″ change, referring to the consulate in Benghazi, Libya as a ″diplomatic facility.″ But Karl reported yesterday that there had been at least 12 different drafts of the memo with whole paragraphs removed or altered, including eliminating any references to Al Qaeda or the Islamic militant group, Ansar al-Sharia.

The families and supporters of members of the SEAL Team 6 unit which was lost on August 6, 2011 in Afghanistan spoke out yesterday at the National Press Club. Some believe that the unit was set-up for assassination, perhaps betrayed by Afghanis working for the Taliban, to shoot down the CH-47 Chinook helicopter carrying 38 people, including 17 Navy SEALs. But the story gets even worse as a video shows the ′ramp ceremony′ where the bodies of the dead soldiers were returned to the United States. The Pentagon and Obama administration arranged for a Muslim cleric who was allowed to essentially insult our fallen heroes, condemning them to Hell and disparaging ″the God of Moses″. The incident paints a grim and tragic picture of how the Barack Hussein Obama administration is corrupting our military services on many levels, including political correctness and Muslim ′outreach.′
