Rice Withdraws her Secretary of State Candidacy

Ambassador Susan Rice, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, has recently been rumored to be a top choice for the next Secretary of State. She has denied these rumors, and so has the White House. But recently, she has responded to them, and has identified that she is no longer next in line for Hillary Clinton’s current gig. This is all after Right-wing attacks on her credentials, her controversial comments on Libya, and her displayed lack of political leadership at the United Nations (Which is seen through several key U.N. votes).

The Truth about Israel and Gaza

It’s quite upsetting to be reading about and hearing about the violence in the Middle East. I pray for everybody in the line of fire, and I stand with Israel in this time of crisis. Many media outlets have painted Israel has the aggressor, as the country on the offense, and have attacked Israel over ‘Civilian deaths.’

But the fact of the matter is simple; Civilian deaths are not actual civilian deaths, these are fake deaths or the use of human shields for the media coverage. Yes, human shields. The media paints Israel as the civilian killer, the aggressor, and the bad guy. People buy into this, and they believe it. But it is simply not true.

Lost Spitfires Found in Burma

Image finding a squadron of 20 lost British Spitfires, found buried in Burma, in essentially factory-fresh condition, still in their shipping crates from 1945! But that is exactly what has happened to aviation buff David Cundall, who is a farmer by trade. The rare and famous fighter planes have been located after 67 years. With some diplomatic help from David Cameron and Number 10 Downing Street, these 20 aircraft will soon be joining the other 35 remaining relics of World War II. Cundall, 62, has spent some 15 years and about $200,000 searching for these planes. After a dozen trips to Burma, Cundall will soon be realizing a dream come true! The Royal Air Force enthusiasts can thank Cundall, as well as the leaders of Myanmar, President Thein Sein and former political prisoner, Aung San Suu Kyi. Myanmar, as Burma is now called, has been steadily becoming more free, especially as they seek financial help from the European Union.

Double-Dip Recession In Europe – US Next?

Its Official! Europe is now in a double-dip recession! The European Commission revised its estimate for the rate of growth for the 1st Quarter of 2012, downgrading it to a negative 0.1%. The rate was -0.4% for the 4th Quarter of 2011. So technically, the European Union now has two consecutive fiscal quarters of negative GDP growth, which spells recession. Now, the downgrade for now specifically targets eastern nations, like Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, which are not full EU members, using the Euro as their national currency. The recent agreement to give Greece an additional 170 Billion Euros through the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund has not created much confidence, either. Other Euro countries, like Italy, Spain and Portugal are still facing their day of reckoning. The financial health of banks in the UK and France are also still very shaky.

Iran Adultery Case – Woman may be Hanged instead of Stoned

The Iran adultery case which has sentenced Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani to be stoned may have a twist now due to Amnesty International. The global outcry has caused the Iranian courts to consider hanging the woman instead. So says Malek Ajdar Sharifi, the top judicial official in East Azerbaijan. The woman was sentenced to death by stoning back in 2006, but has been postponed after worldwide protests. The likes of French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner, Nigerian Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, and even British artist Damien Hirst, have all rallied to the aid of this woman as she faces of death from stoning. A barbaric practice of execution.

Standard and Poor’s may Downgrade 15 Eurozone Nations

Standard & Poor′s, the credit rating agency that downgraded the U.S. credit rating in August after the failure of an agreement on the debt ceiling is now threatening to downgrade the ratings for 15 nations of the European Union. In a statement saying ″continuing disagreements among European policy makers on how to tackle the immediate market confidence crisis,″ S&P could act on the sovereign debt crisis in Europe. Even France and Germany could get hit with their credit ratings downgraded one to two notches. Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy are meeting yet again to discuss the economic problems of the Eurozone. Apparently, last week′s decision by our own Federal Reserve to work in concert with other central banks, including the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank, to provide extra liquidity to European banks and financial institutions, was not enough to calm fears.

Kepler planet confirmed to be Earth-like

NASA scientists say the Kepler planet confirmed to be Earth-like, Kepler-22b, is a mere 600 lightyears away. The Kepler mission using the deep space, orbiting telescope, now has an alien planet count of 700 exoplanets discovered, and possibly as many as 2326. The new planet, Kepler-22b is said to be about 2.4 times larger than our own Earth and exits in a habitable zone about its star with the planet having an average temperature of just 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Known as a ′Goldilocks planet′, its orbit about its own star keeps it in a zone where temperatures are not too hot and not too cold.
