It’s Time for John McCain to Retire

Many people contended that John McCain should retire from the Senate following his crushing 2008 Presidential election defeat by Barack Obama. After all, he had tried for a number of years to win the Republican Presidential nomination, had finally won it, but then showed no interest or understanding in the economic travails that were driving America and most of the rest of the world into recession that year. He had to deal with the embarrassment of having a Vice Presidential nominee who consistently was more electrifying and spoke to rapturous throngs, while his could fit in a Waffle House.

Romney Pays at The Pump

In a humorous but typical display of liberal double-think, a recent photo of Romney pumping gas has led to some mocking comments from liberals. As Noel Sheppard of Newsbusters.org notes, Brian Williams displayed the photo and commented, “You know the old expression ‘riding high in April?’ Well the rest of the lyric might as well be pumping your own gas in November.”

Back in December of 2011, while the Republican primary was still in full swing, the story was a bit different. Then it was liberals from NPR and the virulently anti-Israel Veteran’s News Now, showing photos of Romney filling his tour bus with fuel, mocking him for trying to look “middle class” and “common.”

Blue Dog Democrats Are a Dying Breed

Following the 2008 election, there were 54 Democratic members of the House who called themselves Blue Dogs. Basically, they were more moderate than their party leadership and hoped to influence public policy toward the center within the Democratic Party. Following this month’s elections, there are only a baker’s dozen remaining. Where did they go and why?

Is Obama Tired of Being President?

A lot of analysts have weighed in with different reasons of why President Obama fared so poorly in the debate last week. Some explanations were pretty funny…Obama was stunned that Mitt Romney wasn’t telling the truth, so he didn’t know what to do. Some were pseudo-scientific…The height in Denver caused him to lose oxygen. Some were personality-driven…he approached it like a professor where he wasn’t used to people contradicting him. Some were conspiracy-laden…he is being blackmailed with threats of his own sexual behavior being released.

Presidential Debate Moderators Chosen: Gwen Ifill Livid That She Isn’t Picked

This week, the moderators were named for the Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates. The winners in this cycle are Jim Lehrer of PBS and Bob Schieffer of CBS, who will each moderate a Presidential debate, Candy Crowley of CNN, who will host a town hall debate between Obama and Romney, and Martha Raddatz of ABC, who will moderate the Vice-Presidential debate. These choices were all made by something called the Commission on Presidential Debates. But there was a lot of criticism aimed at these choices.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright – Obama tried to Bribe Me

In an interview with Edward Klein of the New York Post, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright alleges that the Barack Obama campaign tried to bribe him in 2008. Rev. Wright claims that he was offered $150,000 to stay out of the public′s eye and not preach or give speeches until after the November 2008 elections. In addition to confederates of Obama trying to silence him, Wright even charges that he had a secret meeting with Barack Obama in regards to keeping quiet about their relationship. Rev. Wright, pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, had been the ′spiritual mentor′ of Barack Obama. Obama attended Wright′s church as a member for 20 years. But all of that ended rapidly when a controversial video of Wright damning America and blaming the United States for the 9/11 attacks became public. Klein′s new book, The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House, also chronicles the jealous fallout between Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

Obama to Clinch Democratic Presidential Nomination this Week

President Barack Obama is pretty sure to officially clinch the Democratic nomination for President following this week’s primaries. Under their rules, he must win 2778 delegates, and thus far he has won virtually all of the delegates that have been selected, which probably doesn’t come as much of a shock.
