John Edwards Elizabeth Edwards Separate? Andrew Young’s ‘The Politician’ Too Much

A People magazine report claims that a recent rumor is in fact true. John Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards separate after much speculation about the future of the couple’s marriage. It appears that two tell-all books are just too much for Elizabeth Edwards to take. First comes “Game Change” in which John and Elizabeth were cast, in shall we say, an unflattering light; and now comes longtime aide to Edwards Andrew Young’s book, “The Politician.”

It’s not like you can really blame Andrew Young, “The Politician” is the ultimate form of payback for John Edwards essentially throwing him to the wolves. Young had initially claimed that he was having an affair with Rielle Hunter and fathered her baby. I’m sure that made things just peachy at the Young household between Young and his wife.

John Edwards to Admit Paternity of Rielle Hunter Baby (Open Talk)

According to reports we have the obvious: John Edwards to admit paternity of a six-month old child, throwing more salt in the wounds of his stricken wife, Elizabeth Edwards. The affair with Rielle Hunter was exposed by the only newspaper still doing investigative reporting in the country, the National Enquirer.

John Edwards Paternity

John Edwards Paternity: Father of Rielle Hunter’s Baby?

That is right. The National Enquirer blew the cover off of Edwards affair in 2008 and four weeks later reported that he was the baby daddy of Rielle Hunter’s child. The mainstream media ignored the story for the most part, particularly the issue of paternity, because it was a tabloid magazine that broke it. They have editorial standards, don’t you know.

John Edwards Rielle Hunter Federal Investigation: Edwards PAC Payments to Rielle Hunter

Former North Carolina Senator and Presidential Candidate John Edwards is not terribly relevant anymore politically. After cheating on his cancer-stricken wife last year, he seemingly fell off the face of the earth. So it almost seems cruel that he is now the subject of a federal inquiry being conducted by the U.S. attorney’s office for allegedly misusing campaign funds. According to the AP, Edwards is being investigated for using political action committee funds to pay more than $100,000 to his mistress Rielle Hunter.

Rielle Hunter John Edwards Federal probe

Rielle Hunter

John Edwards publicly acknowledged on Sunday that he is cooperating with investigators from the federal government who are focusing on whether he improperly used PAC funds to pay Rielle Hunter’s video production company in 2006 and 2007. Edwards has admitted that he was having an affair with Hunter at that time. Edwards denies that any payments were improperly made to Hunter.

Elizabeth Edwards: John Edwards Wife

Elizabeth Edwards, born Mary Elizabeth Anania on 3 July, 1949, is Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards’ wife, and the mother of his four children. Read more of her biography and see photo’s below.

Elizabeth Edwards

I could have gone the rest of my life happily thinking John Edwards biggest character defect was his penchant for expensive haircuts. I held him in high esteem at one point, and of course, I was a bit prejudiced as he is a South Carolina native …. a true Southern gentleman.

I want to mention right up front that I feel the media exploitation of this story is wrong (yeah … look at me typing on it). Personally, I want to scream out that this is between a long married couple, it is not our business. It is Elizabeth Edwards business and her husband. I felt the same about the Vitners. What bothers me is that it’s the innocent that are hurt the most … spouses and children, yet we seem to not care. Our jumping with joy at any scandal is the real story here. While not condoning, it is not our place to condemn.

Perhaps we feel entitled to throw stones at public figures, especially politicians ( and true, some really have it coming ). However, shouldn’t we be willing to exercise a bit of compassion when it involves an entire family ?

Let John and Rielle Hunter hang their heads in shame, should they have a scruple between them, but spare Elizabeth Edwards and the children … including Ms. Hunter’s offspring.

Attacking someone for lying is one thing, and we all know it’s human nature to cover our fanny’s if and when we get caught with our pants down. This behavior, the denial, is not unprecedented. No, I’m not saying Edward’s should be given a pass on this.

Elizabeth Edwards has endured many joy’s, and yet experienced one of life’s worst tragedies when her 16 year old son, Lucius Wade Edwards was killed in an auto accident.

She has battled and survived breast cancer. She epitomizes a strong woman, and shows immense grace under pressure. The polar opposite of women who prey on rich and successful men, knowing full well that the thought of sex over-rules all rationale in most men. Even if Edward’s was the aggressor, she could have said NO …. but she willingly helped violate the sanctity of a marriage.

John Edwards Admits to Affair

Edwards Admits to Affair

As reported by numerous media outlets today, John Edwards, “the man of the people” finally admits to having an extra-marital affair while his wife was battling cancer. After perusing numerous media outlets today, it is stunning to see how the mainstream media is trying to downplay the significance of a serious contender for President and a rumored front runner for Vice-President’s immoral, unethical and disgraceful behavior. It is so sickening that a link will NOT be provided to these so-called objective media outlets and the political editor will NOT profile the woman involved. Others at Right Pundits may feel free to do so on their own accord. Edwards only defense is to claim that the baby is not his because the timing is not right.

The National Enquirer had this story correct all along. How many times did John Edwards lie about his affair? We should have known all along that something was amiss with Mr. Edwards given that he was Bill Mahr’s favorite candidate - by far. One has to wonder if Mahr will take Edwards to task on his HBO weekly anti-GOP rant? Right Pundits would like to introduce, borrowing a phrase from Mahr, some “new rules” that should pertain to all future Presidential contenders and all human being for that matter - no intercourse with staffers who are paid $100,000 to do very little work while your spouse is battling cancer. Sadly, Bill Mahr will give Edwards an out by comparing him to George Bush. Sometimes, it is simply too easy.

How long will it be before Elizabeth breaks bread with Anne Coulter? It would be very interesting to have been a fly on the wall when John Edwards finally admitted to his wife that an affair took place. Perhaps Ms. Coulter can be brought into the situation to provide mediation to Mr. and Mrs. Edwards.

John Edwards Hush Money

The walls are coming down around John Edwards. Considered on the short-list as Barack Obama’s Vice-President, amid allegations that Edwards has an affair and a baby with a mistress, now there are allegations of hush money being paid to keep her quiet.

John Edwards

John Edwards Hush Money

A whole lot of hush money according to the National Enquirer which apparently is the only newspaper left in America which can afford investigative journalists. They say that an Edwards’ backer has been paying Rielle Hunter to keep quiet about John Junior, whose actual name is reported as Frances Quinn Hunter. They have implicated Andrew Young in the scheme by reporting that the same financial backer is paying sums of money to Young.

Ms. Hunter is the woman whom the Enquirer says Edwards was visiting in a hotel room last week. She reportedly had his baby last year. Meanwhile his faithful wife Elizabeth Edwards continues to battle breast cancer.

Ms. Hunter and Mr. Young have both indicated that the baby is a product of a relationship between them rather than John Edwards. That should have put the rumors away but new revelations from the paper continue to dog him.

Lest we be confused, the payment of hush money is not technically bribery according to our faithful companion, the on-line dictionary. Bribery is a payment made to a public official in exchange for an official action. Political bribery is what Tony Resko was convicted of doing, the Chicago felon who gave Barack Obama land next to his home. Hush money is a payment to someone for keeping quiet, which is usually legal and sometimes politically smart.

Until you get caught. Edwards career as a politician is finished unless he can explain away these persistent rumors. And to think that Barack Obama was rumored to be a hair away from selecting Edwards as a VP running mate. Where is the judgment?

Edwards responds to a reporter’s question about the affair while discussing his Veep chances in a video below.

John Edwards Love Child Scandal (Baby Photos)

Shocking reports are surfacing that John Edwards has a love child. The alleged mistress who was first reported in October reportedly was pregnant and went into hiding, and later gave birth. Luckily we have the photos of Edwards and baby, if we are to believe the National Enquirer.

John Edwards Baby

See the new spy photo of John Edwards holding a baby in a hotel room and then come back for more below. The image above is from a political event which does not depict the baby in question.

When the story first broke months ago, the woman issued a denial of a relationship, and Andrew Young came forward to claim paternity for the child. But still the story would not die. Edwards has since affirmed that there was an affair but denies that he is the father.

The National Enquirer apparently followed Edwards and alleged mistress around until they witnessed a meeting. Reportedly, Edwards was seen leaving Rielle Hunter’s hotel room where she had brought the baby. He stayed until the wee hours of the morning when he was confronted by reporters. Edwards reportedly ran away and hid in a hotel bathroom. Read the story.

Shocked to see a reporter, and without saying anything, Edwards ran up the stairs leading from the hotel basement to the lobby. But, spotting a photographer, he doubled back into the basement. As he emerged from the stairwell, reporter Butterfield questioned him about his hookup with Rielle.

Edwards did not answer and then ran into a nearby restroom. He stayed inside for about 15 minutes, refusing to answer questions from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER about what he was doing in the hotel. A group of hotel security men eventually escorted him from the men’s room, while preventing the NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters from following him out of the hotel.

By all means read the earlier National Enquirer Edwards story which broke the news in 2007,and see the pregnancy photos they published. Or read the story here.

The name of the woman allegedly having an affair with John Edwards should have been a campaign secret, but others identified the suspect as Rielle Hunter, formerly known as Lisa Druck. Whomever, she was reportedly in hiding with her flowering tummy unavailable for comment, if we are to believe the rumor.

One hopes that any pregnant woman has proper medical attention because far too many women are lacking basic medical care in this country. We can finally understand why a lawyer would be constantly pitching taxpayer funded health care. Edward’s campaign pitch may have been an attempt to shirk his financial responsibilities.

Rielle Hunter was a campaign worker reportedly paid $114,000 to make web commercials touting his virtues. Take all of this with a grain of salt until (and if) the story breaks in the major media.

67% of American’s Support More Domestic Drilling

Rasmussen Reports has a new poll here that shows that 67% of American’s support more domestic drilling and that 64% of them believe that more drilling will lower prices. This should be an issue that McCain hammers over and over and over. It seems to me that there is no other topic in today’s society more discussed the the out of control price of gasoline. The good news is McCain has said today that he supports the lift of the federal ban on off-shore drilling in places like California and Florida. There was a ban imposed in 1981 that prohibited the exploration and drilling of off-shore oil deposits. My theory is that if the Chinese can drill offshore, why can’t we.

This is not enough however. We should be encouraging the drilling of both ANWR and the Bakken fields in the Dakotas. Some geologists have estimated that the Bakken fields has an estimated 413 billion barrels of recoverable oil in it. This compares to Saudi Arabia’s Ghawar field (the worlds largest) which has yielded about 55 billion barrels of oil. The real trouble of the Bakken field is that it is more difficult to get to, its about 2 miles below a layer of dolemite and earth. About 4.5 billion barrels are recoverable with current means of oil drilling. While oil was 30-50 dollars per barrel this oil may not have been worth the trouble, I’m guessing that at $100 plus a barrel, suddenly the Bakken field is looking like a gem in the rough.

Once again, for our economically challenged friends out there, the immutable law of economics states that price is determined by supply and demand. Prices are very high right now because supply is down and demand is up. You have to effect one side of the equation. We know that demand is going to continue to go up, so the only thing to do is try to increase the supply. McCain should stop all his blabbering about global warming, the war, etc. and every day give the same stump speech about drilling and increasing supply. I have a feeling that if he hammers this home he could win the election in a landslide.
