Mojave Desert Memorial Cross Stolen After Supreme Court Ruling in Favor

The Supreme Court ruled to protect the Mojave Desert Memorial Cross from an ACLU lawsuit demanding it’s removal. On Sunday night, thieves with bolt cutters took it down anyway.

The 7-foot-tall, 75-year-old cross was first placed on the rock at the Mojave National Preserve in 1934 by the Veterans of Foreign Wars as a memorial to honor the American soldiers who died in World War I.

In April, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the lower courts ruling in California on the ACLU lawsuit which ordered the US Park Service to remove the cross due to separation of church and state.

However, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy said the first amendment does not call for a total ban on symbols of faith but a middle-ground “policy of accommodation”, the LA Times reported. The Christian cross on government land was allowed to stand since the Constitution “does not require the eradication of all religious symbols in the public realm,” the US Supreme Court ruled.

On Sunday night, two weeks after the ruling, the cross was removed.

“This is an outrage, akin to desecrating people’s graves,” said Kelly Shackelford, president of the Liberty Institute, which represents the caretakers of the Mojave Desert War Memorial. “It’s a disgraceful attack on the selfless sacrifice of our veterans. We will not rest until this memorial is re-installed.”

Democrats Push National I.D. Card; Biometric Identification With Fingerprints

Is it hypocrisy on display? Or is it simply a case of “It’s my idea so it’s a good one?” Despite the furor over an Arizona Immigration Law that would ask citizens to produce identification to prove their citizenship, these same Democrats are now pushing a National I.D. card for every worker in the country. The National I.D. cards would hold biometric information such as your fingerprint.

Amazingly enough, the ACLU quickly jumped on the proposal saying it would violate civil liberties. For once the ACLU and I agree on something. The new National I.D. card would be a part of the “Believe System.” That stands for, Biometric Enrollment, Locally stored information, and Electronic Verification of Employment; what a mouthful.

Feminists Complain When People Stare

This is priceless. A woman named Ty McDowell organizes two dozen women to march topless in Portland’s Longfellow Square. Why? Well, to demonstrate the double standard in society’s attitudes toward male and female nudity of course! Apparently, when men walk around topless no one pays any attention; but when women do the same, people stare — and in the case of this demonstration, take pictures. Horrors!

Pity the woman who takes off her shirt and bra, walks around in public, and is then subjected to people staring at her. McDowell was actually “enraged” by the men who were attracted to the demonstration. Are you f—ing kidding me??????

Please, please get a life Ms. McDowell.

Constance McMillan: Lesbian High School Prom Problem; ACLU Sues

Itawamba County Schools in Mississippi have a policy which states that all prom dates must be of the opposite sex. Constance McMillan a Lesbian Senior is now challenging that. McMillan wanted to bring her girlfriend to the prom, instead of denying the request Itawamba County Schools simply cancelled the prom. As you might imagine, the ACLU has filed suit on behalf of Constance McMillan.

The ACLU had given the school system until Wednesday to reinstate the prom, they’ve refused and the lawsuit goes on. Constance McMillan chose to fight against the ban on same sex dates at the prom; who knew the school board wouldn’t have the stomach to fight the fight. Amazingly they simply cancelled the prom, disappointing not only Constance McMillan but every other student who was slated to go.

Temperance, the Origins of Progressivism

While I hate to dispute Glenn Beck, it is important to understand the origins of the Progressive movement. Especially, if we want to defeat them! The very first Progressive in American history was probably Dr. Benjamin Rush, a Founding Father. You’ll find his signature just above Ben Franklin’s on the Declaration of Independence. Pennsylvania Courthouse Nativity Scene and Menorah Forced Down

The Scroogiest of Scrooges, the ACLU, has made their annual appearance to spread Holiday smears; as this time the target is a courthouse in northeastern Pennsylvania. Nativity Scene and Menorah must come down according to those who are threatened by displays of religious symbols; once again citing the Constitution as grounds for their black hearts.

Yes it’s a story we hear every year at this time. A harmless Nativity Scene or Menorah becomes the object of scorn and ridicule for liberals everywhere with nothing better to do with their time, than try and bring their brand of misery to the rest of us; Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to the ACLU.

Review: An American Carol

Last night I was taken – for my birthday, ahem – to see An American Carol. David Zucker’s latest flick stars Kevin Farley as a very familiar looking documentary producer who goes by the name “Michael Malone”, Kelsey Grammer as the ghost of General Patton, and an eerily wonderful performance by Jon Voight as George Washington.

ACLU Loses

Ok, finally, a thread with no primary news. Yesterday, the ACLU aka the American Criminal Liberal Union lost a case on wire-tapping when the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday threw out a bid by journalists and professors to challenge the legality of the US administration’s wire-tapping program. The wire-tapping program, which was adopted after the September 11, 2001 attacks, allows US national security agencies to monitor suspect telephone calls and emails between the United States and overseas without first obtaining a judge’s order.

In 2006, liberal scum filed a suit against the program maintaining it violated their right to privacy, saying because they had regular contacts with the Middle East, their freedom of expression would be restrained. They specifically targetted the National Security Agency in the case which has now come before the country’s highest court.

A lower court judge (another liberal scumbag) initially ordered an end to the program immediately, but an appeals court in July overturned that ruling saying the plaintiffs had not proved that their foreign communications were being monitored.

On Tuesday the Supreme Court refused to hear the case, as usual without giving a reason, thus upholding the appeals court ruling.

Now, the House of Representatives, led by Nancy Pelosi, have refused to re authorize the program. They should have never left to go on vacation until they passed the reauthorization.

I support this program, which is constitutional. I also still have this saying – When the ACLU loses – America wins. Maybe, the ACLU can now go back to defending pedophiles, rapists, and senators engaging in pseudo-sex in public bathrooms.
