The March 2013 Jobs Report was released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics yesterday, prompting Rush Limbaugh to declare that America is a ′dying country.′ While the ′official′, U-3 unemployment rate fell from 7.7% to 7.6%, this only came to be because some 496,000 people were statistically bumped from the labor force. This resulted in the Labor Participation Rate to drop from 63.5% to 63.3%, the lowest since 1979! A net increase of just 88,000 jobs created in March was way below the ′expected′ number of about 200,000. The Employment-to-Population Rate also declined from 58.6% to 58.5%. Some Liberal pundits are already blaming sequestration for the poor numbers, but the private sector created some 95,000 jobs, meaning that government jobs only declined by some 7,000. The broader U-6 Unemployment Rate, which covers a wider spectrum of the labor force fell from 14.3% to 13.8% thanks to some 663,000 people ′giving up′ looking for a job.

In this time of season, there are many of us who are in great want. People all over this great land who are starving, homeless, or living in poverty do NOT all leech off of the government or any governmental program. Even though their blight is great, they do not seek assistance from the U.S.A.

How ironic that the new January 2013 Jobs Report states that the national unemployment average, the U-3 rate, increased to 7.9% just one day after Barack Obama failed to renew the charter for his Jobs Council. The Labor Department released its figures compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and only an estimated 157,000 jobs were added in January. Hardly enough to keep up with population growth. Most of the non-farm jobs created in January were in the retail, construction, mining and health sectors. The largest decline was in the transportation sector, with manufacturing and other sectors remaining essentially flat. The Civilian Labor Force only added about 143,000 to the ranks of job holders and seekers, keeping the labor participation rate steady at 63.6%. The average work hours for those lucky enough to be employed remained steady at 34.4 hours per week and wages increased a whopping $0.04 per hour. The overall U-6 unemployment rate also held steady at 14.4%.

The U.S. Commerce Department numbers are in and the nation′s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, shrank 0.1% in the Fourth Quarter of 2012. A lack of consumer spending was blamed due to Hurricane Sandy as the Conference Board shows a decline in confidence, resulting in slower growth. The Barack Obama White House went on the defense, blaming Republicans for stirring up more uncertainty during the Fiscal Cliff debate. The Left-Wing Media also tried to spin a happy face citing other economic data, such as house sales. Some experts, like former Enron economist Paul Krugman, point to less government spending as the main culprit for the decline in GDP. But the bitter reality is that the Obama Recovery never happened. What little GDP growth there has been over the past four years of the Obama administration is by and large due to monetary policy from the Federal Reserve Bank which is pumping cheap money into the economy, causing more inflation than GDP growth. Since taking office, the nation′s GDP has been shrinking consistently in value.

Unfortunately, we’re going to go off the Fiscal Cliff. Our Washington Lawmakers have started their vacations, the President is in Hawaii, and Nancy Pelosi’s vacation starts Monday. Negotiations have stopped (as of now), and even though the GOP has stated that they will stay in Washington to work something out, they probably won’t. If a major deal would have been made, it would have been made weeks ago. I predict that a deal will be made, somewhere in the $50-80 Billion dollar range, holding up the Government for a few more weeks.

Union protesters turned violent at the Capitol Building in Lansing as Gov. Rick Snyder signed the Michigan Right To Work 2012 bill into law. Steven Crowder, a contributor to the Fox News Channel, was among those assaulted as a group of union thugs tore down two tents occupied by women and handicapped seniors who support the new law. Video of the event clearly shows that Crowder was sucker-punched. Unions and their Democrat allies claim that the new law is unfair as it gives workers the option of joining a union and paying dues. They say it gives non-union workers a ′free ride′ to enjoy the benefits which unions claim to have negotiated. Of course, this argument falls on deaf ears when it comes to the 47% who pay no income tax yet enjoy the benefits of being an American citizen. Michigan now becomes the 24th state to have a right-to-work.

At this point in time, there is no deal underway to ensure that the country does not run over the fiscal cliff. The Fiscal Cliff will be reached if we do not have a deal in place by late December- so the clock is ticking down. The Fiscal Cliff provides an opportunity for the party; if we can reach a deal (which I believe we can), then we have credited the Republican party as collaborative and in the interest of the American Party. If we don’t reach a deal and get to the Fiscal Cliff, there will be major political challenges across the aisle, and a complete change of pace for the nation.
