Science: Liberal Men Weak, Conservative Men Strong

In a study that surprisingly proved an age-old stereotype about liberal men, scientists have found that conservative men are stronger. This explains, they say, why liberal men are more inclined to support government welfare programs, because they are unable to fend for themselves, while conservative men are more self-reliant.

New Salt Study – Low Sodium No Benefits

A new salt study seems to show that there are no health benefits for a low sodium diet. In fact, such may have a negative impact on a person′s health. Two studies were published in the JAMA Internal Medicine online magazine this week concerning salt intake. One from the Institute of Medicine, commissioned by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claims that that there is no real reason to reduce salt intake below 2,300 milligrams per day. Although Dr. Brian Strom of the University of Pennsylvania is not opposed to a low-sodium diet, he does say, ″…there is simply a lack of data that shows it is beneficial.″ Meanwhile, second report which also appeared in this week′s Journal of the American Medical Association warns that there is still too much salt in restaurant food. Dr. Stephen Havas of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine led a study by the Center for Science in Public Interest that looked at processed and fast foods from 2005 through 2011. Sodium levels only dropped 3.5% in processed foods and only 2.6% by fast food vendors.

Religion vs Science on a Happy Easter Sunday 2013

Happy Easter Sunday 2013! Today, Christians from all around the world will celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. A triumph over death and original sin. An important day for religion, faith and belief. But not everyone agrees. Aside from those of other religions, we also have those who choose not to believe in God at all. Secular Humanists like to say that science has displaced religion. That reason trumps belief, logic over faith. So are science and religion really so irreconcilable?

America Unearthed – Hunt for the Holy Grail, Season Finale

The season finale of America Unearthed, Hunt for the Holy Grail, aired last night on the History Channel H2. Forensic geologist Scott Wolter headed for Nova Scotia, Canada tracking down the alleged treasure of the Knights Templar, which some believe Prince Henry Sinclair brought to Oak Island, the Money Pit, in the year 1398. But some local treasure hunters tip Scott off to new clues which were found on the nearby Hobson Island, pointing to a site in the town of New Ross. Here, the remains of a rumored castle built by Henry yielded a well which may have once held the Holy Grail, Ark of the Covenant and other treasures of the Knights Templar.

America Unearthed – The Desert Cross

Last night on The History Channel H2, another new episode of America Unearthed investigated ′The Desert Cross′. In 1924, a lead cross was found buried outside of Tuscon, Arizona by Charles Manier. Later, he and another fellow lawyer and WWI buddy, Charles Bent, dug around and found 31 other lead relics, including more crosses, swords and religious ritual items. The ′experts′ thought the discovery was just a fraud, especially one cross inscribed in Latin indicating it was made in 800 A.D.. Scott Wolter, and his son Grant, probe the authenticity of the items, some of which are obviously the Cross of Lorraine, a known symbol of the Knights Templar and modern Freemasonry.

America Unearthed – Motive for Murder

Last night on The History Channel H2 series, America Unearthed, the episode Motive for Murder explores the death of explorer Meriwether Lewis. Some of you may recall that another History Channel series, Brad Meltzer′s Decoded, also investigated whether Lewis committed suicide due to financial problems, or was murdered by supporters of some corrupt government officials that Lewis was going to expose. Forensic geologist Scott Wolter picks up the cold trail based on some new evidence, an inscribed piece of sandstone known as the Brandenburg Stone as well as blood stains found on Lewis′ Masonic apron. Were pages torn from the journal of Lewis by people trying to cover up a possible land claim by ancient Welsh on the Louisiana Purchase, thereby calling into question the legitimacy of a large portion of the United States? Were the Mandan Indians of the Dakota plains descendents of 6th Welsh immigrants? Did Thomas Jefferson order Lewis and Clark to not only explore the new territory, but also look for signs of a pre-Columbian Welsh community?

Meteorite Falls In Russia, 500 Injured (Video)

Like a scene from the movie ARMAGEDDON, a meteorite falls in Russia, injuring some 500 people. Estimated to be a 10-ton meteor, it hit Russia near the Ural Mountains in the Chelyabinsk region, about 900 miles east of Moscow. A series of five explosions caused widespread damage, breaking windows and blowing doors off frames. This on the day when an even larger space rock, Asteroid 2012 DA14 will make a close flyby of the Earth, passing only some 17,500 miles away. While the asteroid is not expected to strike the Earth, it may impact or disrupt communications and other satellites in geostationary orbit some 22,500 above the planet.
