Democrats Playing Politics With Judges Again

There was once a time when the courts were considered a place of staid scholarship and considered opinion. Those days have been gone for a long time as decades ago the courts became merely another avenue for Democrats to play politics not to mention a tool with which to install in America a left-wing agenda instead of a place to adjudicate the law. This week aged New Jersey Democrat Senator Frank Lautenberg gives us a prime example of the former that will inevitably lead to the latter.

In a move that surprised everyone in both New York and New Jersey, the decrepit Lautenberg submitted the name of New York Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer’s brother-in-law as his nominee for a federal judgeship in the Garden State. I say it came as a surprise because no one at all was aware that Schumer’s relative was even in the running until the nomination became public knowledge.

It smacks of backroom political deal making instead of a legitimate choice for the bench.

Democrats block health care repeal

Today in the U.S. Senate, the Democrats block health care repeal along party lines, 51 to 47 in voting. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) submitted the repeal already passed by the House of Representatives in a bill funding the Federal Aviation Administration. Today’s vote follows in the wake of a Federal court decision the health care reforms of Barack Obama are unconstitutional, setting up a challenge in the Supreme Court. Senate Democrats like Charles Schumer (D-NY) sided with Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) in striking the repeal down. Republican Senator from Iowa, Charles Grassley said that the repeal is unlikely to go through this session.

When Senators Don’t Even Know the Three Branches of Government

They think they are better than us, they always claim to be more informed than the voters, yet the arrogant do-nothings in the Senate so very often prove that it is they, rather, who don’t have a clue what they are prattling on about. Here we have yet another know-nothing Senator regaling us with his utter lack of knowledge as Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York, reveals he hasn’t the slightest clue what the three branches of the federal government are.

Recently on CNN, Senator Schumer told us that the three branches of government are the Senate, the House and the President! Check out the video…

Obama tells New York to “Drop Dead” as Anti-Terror Funds are slashed and more Times Square Suspects arrested!

Apparently, the Obama administration doesn’t think New York City needs to worry about terrorism. Despite the Big Apple being Target #1 for al Qaeda and related Islamic extremist groups, Homeland Security will be slashing funds to protect America’s largest city. Some $53 Million dollars will be cut from the $198 Million the Federal government provides. This amounts to a nearly 27% reduction, at a time when it seems all too clear that the terrorists have not given up on attacking New York City.

Chuck Schumer is Blamed for IndyMac Collapse

The Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) has put out a statement blaming Democratic New York Senator Chuck Schumer for the collapse of IndyMac Bank. Schumer blames the federal regulators. Read about the unfolding drama below and see photos and a video.

There are accusations and indications that U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) contributed to the collapse of IndyMac Bank. He has acknowledged that some of his actions may have contributed to the bank failing and he regrets that people lost money. However, he is pointing his finger of blame to IndyMac first and to federal regulators second.

Schumer wrote letters in June warning of the possibility of IndyMac failing. In late June, the letters were made public and published in newspapers with headlines blaring that the bank was on the verge of collapse. The Office of Thrift Supervision has pointed out that bank customers withdrew more than $1.3 billion in the eleven days immediately following the release of Schumer’s letters. OTS says that publicizing his letters in the Pasadena newspapers alarmed the public resulting in a run on the bank which pushed it over the edge.
