Sad news today as ′The Iron Lady′, Margaret Thatcher dies at the age of 87 from a stroke. News of the former British Prime Minister passing away came from Lord Tim Bell, spokesman for the Baroness Margaret Thatcher. She was the first woman to achieve the office of Prime Minister and made a huge impact on the UK and the world at large. An ardent Conservative, by American standards, she turned around the failing Socialist economy of Great Britain which was mired in state-run bureaucracies and powerful labor unions through most of the 1970s. Her solution was privatization, decreasing regulations and taking on the unions in a battle to restore some Capitalism. Thatcher played a major role in global politics, challenging the Soviet Union, helping to free Poland and combating military invasions by Argentina and Iraq. Her legacy is outstanding and she will be sorely missed by all lovers of freedom.

Will Dr. Benjamin Carson run for president in 2016? Appearing on a special edition of Sean Hannity′s ′Saving America′ this weekend, the answer may very well be, YES! Dr. Carson caused quite a stir two weeks ago when he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast. With Barack Hussein Obama sitting just a few feet away, Dr. Carson lectured our nation′s first Anti-President on how to properly run the country. The good doctor warned of our growing National Debt, the ill effects of Big Government and the folly of the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a., ObamaCare. Being Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Dr. Carson knows a thing or two about our health care system. Struggling from poverty in Detroit, Michigan to become one of the nation′s top 20 scientists and physicians shows that he also knows a thing or two about life in general, especially how to succeed at it!

Retired Army General H. (Herbert) Norman Schwarzkopf died in Tampa, Florida at the age of 78 yesterday from complications of pneumonia. Stormin′ Norman will be best known as the head of US Central Command, responsible for the Persian Gulf and Middle East, which led the way for Operation Desert Storm. Following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in the late summer of 1990, Schwarzkopf first orchestrated Operation Desert Shield, flooding Saudi Arabia with troops to prevent Saddam Hussein from pushing further south in the Arabian Peninsula. The West Point graduate then began a build-up of even more troops and support for Desert Storm, which brought victory for the Coalition Forces in booting the Iraqis from Kuwait in what we now call Gulf War I.

Bob Dole, the GOP Presidential nominee in 1996 and a United States Senator from Kansas for 28 years, is in grave health tonight at Walter Reed Hospital. As one of his last acts of public service to our nation, he was appointed by President Bush in 2007 to investigate and correct the problems which had been discovered at Walter Reed.

Columba Bush was born in Leon, Mexico in 1953. She met Jeb Bush in 1971, while he was teaching English as a foreign exchange worker in Leon. The couple was married three years later in Austin, Texas. The couple has three grown children.

Who is Holly Petraeus? She is the wife of now resigned CIA Director David Petraeus, who has left the Obama administration amid a sex scandal. Holly is also a member of the Obama administration, serving as Assistant Director to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She also has worked for the Better Business Bureau specializing in helping veterans and serving military personnel with credit card issues. What the resignation of her husband amid the extramarital affair that David Petraeus had with biographer Paula Broadwell remains unclear as the story unfolds.

George McGovern is dead at the age of 90. The South Dakota Democrat, an icon of modern Liberalism, passed away quietly in a Sioux Falls hospice from a ″combination of medical conditions.″ Having served 22 years in both the House and Senate, McGovern may be best known for his 1972 presidential run against incumbent Richard M. Nixon. McGovern also served in WW2 as a B-24 bomber pilot stationed in the Mediterranean, winning the Distinguished Flying Cross, and was well known for his opposition to the War in Vietnam. After losing his Senate seat in 1980, McGovern focused much of his life on world hunger issues, eventually serving as a UN Ambassador for Food and Agriculture from 1998 through 2001. One could say that he was the last of the ′Old Fashioned Liberal Lions.′

Hollywood may be shaking from an earthquake caused by this weekend′s box office results which have the new anti-Obama documentary, 2016 Obama′s America, finishing 8th. The film took in a whopping $6.2 million dollars despite a very limited release on only about 1,000 movie screens nationwide. The film certainly is proving to be a better money draw than the rehashed version of ′Total Recall′. 2016 took in nearly as much money as the new action flick, ′Premium Rush′, which opened on more than double the number of screens. Produced by Rocky Mountain Pictures, 2016 reviews the first term of Barack Obama as president, as well as delving into his background, and speculates what America may be like after a second term. Needless to say, its not a pretty future! The movie ′stars′ Dinesh D′Souza, who travels the world to learn who Obama really is!
