Yesterday, Barack Obama got an endorsement from Madonna, who used to be a famous singer 25 or 30 years ago. Apparently, a number of her fans are still alive, so she has decided to do a tour labeled the MDNA tour. In all honesty, I’m not entirely clear what the name stands for, unless she was unable to buy some vowels. Anyway, last night her tour made its way to Washington, DC, where she endorsed Barack Obama in a curious fashion:

Yes, such a warning is needed as a viral video filmed by disc jockey Seth Sharp of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange dancing has crept onto the Internet. Taken sometime ago while he was at a night club in Iceland, Assange shows off his fancy footwork amid strobe lights and a disco ball. The video of Julian Assange dancing proves only one thing, that he is a worse dancer than Seinfeld character, Elaine Bennis.

Taking to Facebook to announce the invitation, it looks like the former Senate hopeful may try to rumba her way into America’s hearts in the near future! Judith Jamison, regarded as the one of the top choreographers in the world, will be honored in the White House by Michelle Obama as the nation’s capital building spends a week celebrating dance. The honoree is the renowned director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, a top national dance school. Get the full story, with pictures and video below!

The White House East Room, often reserved for foreign dignitaries or important treaty signing was filled with rhythm and high-flying dance moves as 90 local students participated in a work shop with the professional dancers. After Barack Obama is sworn into office as president, a whirlwind of inauguration events, parties, balls and celebrations will commence. The premier event of the evening is the ‘Neighborhood Inaugural Ball’, which will be broadcast live on ABC. Read about the details below, see photos of the A-list performers, and watch a video.

Lots of celebrities, including Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Stevie Wonder, will perform at Barack Obama’s first party as president. Even though it’s being billed as a ‘Neighborhood Inaugural Ball’ it’s hardly a block party — The One likes to do things big!

It’s the first ever ‘Neighborhood Ball’ and being described by Team Obama as ‘a celebration designed to make the inauguration open and accessible to all people.’ Amen! To do this, the ball will be broadcast across the nation on ABC. The lovefest will air live from the Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C., on Tuesday, January 20th at 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET. Nick Cannon will DJ the event and apparently, so many Hollywood-types are trying to get some Obama face time, that even MORE performers will be announced as they are confirmed!

The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, number 1 of 10 inaugural balls, will be held in conjunction with the rest of the inaugural festivities. The ball in Washington D.C. will be connected to balls and inaugural events through interactive webcasts and text messaging to connect ‘neighborhoods across the country.’ Cute isn’t it?

And in this time of economic uncertainty for so many in our land, Obama’s inauguration celebration is the most expensive in history, approaching 150 million dollars. This, as President Bush who spent a modest 43 million in comparison, declares a state of emergency in the DC area to help cover it’s costs! But then, knowing how The One liked to spend money during his campaign, this probably doesn’t surprise you.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee has now released the details about all ten inaugural balls to be held in honor of Barack Obama’s Inauguration. One of them, the Youth Inaugural Ball, is being held especially for the young voters who said ‘Yes We Can’ during the presidential campaign. Read about it below, see photos, and a video.

The obligatory ‘Youth Inaugural Ball’ will be held at the Washington Hilton in DC and is reserved for all of those millions and millions of Americans between 18 and 35 who voted ‘YES!” for Hopechangery. The tickets will cost $75 which is half the cost of tickets to the other nine balls.

“This is America’s inaugural celebration in every way,” said Presidential Inaugural Committee Executive Director Emmett S. Beliveau. “Young people are more engaged in this country’s future than ever before and we want to harness that excitement by inviting them to participate in this historic occasion. In that same vein, we are hosting events to bring people from all walks of life and from across the country – from the President-elect and Vice President-elect’s home states, as well as every corner of the nation – to celebrate this country’s unity moving forward.”

Though we do know there will be 10 inaugural balls, there is no word yet who will be the A-List entertainment or what amazing Hollywood celebutards will attend. But no worries! We, at Right Pundits, will be all over The One’s Inauguration so stay tuned!
