Obama Parties as Arab Spring Rages

Barack Obama attended yet another fundraising party, this time in Las Vegas, while new reports indicate that Ambassador Chris Stevens was the target of an assassination by a Libyan group with ties to Al Qaeda. In fact, the protests and assaults on our embassy in Cairo and the consulate in Benghazi may have been part of a coordinated effort. While some attribute the protests due to a low-budget movie about the Prophet Mohammed, the fact that the assaults took place on 9/11 raises doubts. Al Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahri had released a video of his own just before and his brother was seen as part of the mob outside the US embassy in Cairo. The video from al-Zawahri acknowledged the death of Libyan-born Abu Yahya al-Libi, the Number Two man of Al Qaeda, killed in a drone strike back in June. The group suspected to be involved in the Benghazi attack on our consulate is the Omar Abdul Rahman Brigade, which claimed responsibility of a bomb attack against our consulate just last month.

If you have an email account, you probably have received a message from a friend or associate about the Project Kony 2012 viral video by the charity group, Invisible Children. The video, nearly a half hour long, details the horrors in Uganda committed by Joseph Kony, leader of a rebel force known as the Lord′s Resistance Army, LRA. Kony is considered the Number One international criminal for kidnapping tens of thousands of children, forcing the young boys into being soldiers and young girls into sex slaves. The video has gotten more than 34 million views on You Tube and its purpose is to draw attention and make Kony famous. But there are questions about the non-profit charity org and how they handle their finances.

Wimpy Braille Burger for the Blind, Fast Food You Can Feel Good About

The South African fast food chain, Wimpy, has a smash hit, a braille burger for the blind. Advertising a 100% pure beef burger made for you, the Wimpy menu has 15 types of burgers for the blind to enjoy. The buns themselves tell the diner what he or she is eating thanks to using sesame seeds to spell out the burger′s content. Since starting the menu, the sales of the new braille burger is 800,000 and growing. Hats off to art director Dale Mullany of the ad agency Metropolitan Republic in South Africa, the ′Mad Man′ who came up with the idea for this new product campaign. I′d bet even Don Draper would smile and offer Dale a drink and a job. Several agencies and organizations, like Blind SA, Braille Services and the Louise Braille House, are applauding this stroke of true ′vision′ of creativity in the marketplace.

Obama misleads Congress on Libya, abuses War Powers Act

Last week, Congress put pressure on the Obama administration concerning our military involvement in Libya and whether or not Barack Obama is adhering to the legal parameters of the War Powers Act? The answer to that question has now officially been answered…, NO! Obama has told Congress repeatedly that the U.S. military is not involved in any hostilities in Libya, and is primarily playing a supporting role to NATO, But now a report which has been confirmed by the United States Africa Command, or AFRICOM, proves that Obama is being less than honest. AFRICOM confirms that hundreds of missions have been flown by U.S. Air Force and Navy aircraft. At least 132 of these missions involved dropping bombs or firing missiles on Libyan targets.

Michelle Obama thanks Media for their Bias during $100 Million Safari Vacation

How much has Michelle Obama′s vacation trip to Africa cost? For security reasons, an exact figure is unknown. The estimates range anywhere from $2 Million dollars a day to $10 Million per day, depending on how many vehicles and support equipment from America was brought along for her use. My guess is that she and her entourage, including staff, children, her mother as well as cousins and friends is probably on the higher end. So while continuing her $100 Million dollar African safari vacation, she took a few moments to be interviewed by CNN, where the First Lady thanked the media when asked about the upcoming election. “Fortunately, we have help from the media. I have to say this: I am very grateful for the support and kindness that we’ve gotten.”

Michelle Obama Arrives in South Africa

First Lady Michelle Obama arrives in South Africa today along with both of her daughters, kicking off her second solo trip abroad. Today she is expected to travel from Pretoria to Johannesburg to visit the Nelson Mandela Foundation. She will later appear in Cape Town to meet with youth leaders, such as Julius Malema of the African National Congress Youth League, to discuss education and other subjects. Michelle Obama was met at the airport in Pretoria by President Jacob Zuma and Ntuli Zuma, one of the president′s three wives. Speaking of presidents, perhaps the First Lady′s trip is why her husband, Barack Obama, has decided to do some social networking on Twitter? Perhaps it is lonely at the White House?

Red Cross reports 800 dead in Ivory Coast by Laurent Gbagbo supporters

According to the Red Cross official Dorothea Krimitsas, some 800 people have been killed in the Ivory Coast key city of Duekoue by supporters of Laurent Gbagbo. Meanwhile, in the capitol of Abidjan, Gbagbo′s presidential palace was surrounded by opposition forces.. Gbagbo lost his reelection bid last November to the internationally recognized president Alassane Ouattara, but has refused to give up power. Appeals to the United Nations and the African Union leader Jean Ping and French president Nicolas Sarkozy are getting little attention to the once wealthy country, famous as a prime source of cocoa from the port city of San Pedro, the essential ingredient for making chocolate.
