Rick Perry – Fast and Furious Worse Than Watergate (VIDEO)

Texas Governor Rick Perry is calling Barack Obama ′Nixonian′ and saying that Operation Fast and Furious is worse than Watergate. Perry said as much Sunday during an appearance on the CBS News show, ′Face The Nation′, hosted by Bob Schieffer. Perry is critical of Attorney General Eric Holder for withholding Justice Department documents on the gun running program by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms which led to the death of Border Patrol Officer Brian Terry. Perry says that the Obama White House and their allies in the Media have been deliberately trying to keep the story out of the public′s eye. Obama proclaiming executive privilege to block the further release of documents, which has led to the House Judiciary Oversight Committee to find Eric Holder in contempt of Congress is just the latest outrage and abuse of power.

Right Review: Playbook 2012 – The Right Fights Back

The editors of Politico have decided to produce a series of e-books that examine the 2012 Presidential race. The first of these, The Right Fights Back, has now been released. The book was co-authored by Mike Allen, a Politico reporter, and Evan Thomas, a Newsweek editor and reporter. Primarily, this short book (only 65 pages in e-book form) looks at the Republican nomination contest and explains why Mitt Romney secured the nomination.

Atmospheric Santorum Ad: OBAMAVILLE

The Rick Santorum campaign recently brought its attention to Barack Obama — as some might say, finally.

In this atmospheric new video, Team Rick gives us a scary, film noirish look at the end of the United States as planned by Barack Obama. It’s so bad that we will all end up in the worst place ever…

Ron Paul: I’m NOT Working With Romney to Slam Santorum (A Lie, of Course)

Denial is not just a river in Egypt. It’s Ron Paul’s tactic to deflect claims that he’s coordinating with Mitt Romney on attacks against Gingrich and Santorum during this whole primary campaign. Last week rumors began coursing through the interwebs that Ron Paul had a secret pact with Mitt Romney to destroy the two more conservative presidential candidates to boost Romney’s candidacy but now Paul denies the claims.

Last week it was widely noted that Ron Paul has spent little time during this primary season attacking Mitt Romney even though Romney has been perceived as the front runner since the first days of the campaign. Instead, Paul has spent millions creating attack ads slamming Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich leaving Romney virtually untouched by the Paul slime machine.

People began to wonder why that was and speculation reached a fever pitch when Ron Paul’s son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, told the Old Media that he would be honored to be considered as Romney’s vice presidential pick.

Rick Perry’s Travails: The Perils of a Failed Run for the White House

Very often a run for the White House is disastrous for the loser. It’s often just as bad for the runners up in the primaries, too. Campaigns for the White House are littered with politicians who made a grab for the brass ring and ended up not only losing that effort but finding their whole political career on the wane or even at an end. Apparently it’s happening again as Rick Perry is seeing some troubles in Texas now that he’s stepped away from the campaign trail.

As I mentioned, if you look through history the great preponderance of pols that threw their hat in the ring in the race for the White House found that their campaign basically ended their political career. In fact, even most of those that became vice president found their public life at an end upon leaving that office. After all, most of our VPs were presidential contenders at some point and took the second chair as their booby prize, if you will. But only a handful of VPs went on to become president, some of them only because their president died in office.

Failed Presidential Bids, Candidates

We have seen several failed presidential bids and candidates so far in the past year. Some barely had a chance at bat, to use a baseball analogy. Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann and Jon Huntsman, Jr., as well as Herman Cain are just the latest to join others in history. Al Gore, Ross Perot, John Edwards, Howard Dean, Gary Hart, Michael Dukakis are among those who in recent memory appeared to have a shot at the White House and failed. Gerald Ford lost his presidency in 1976 to Jimmy Carter. Barry Goldwater perhaps had the most famous loss in 1964 after Lyndon Johnson ran a controversial TV ad implying that Goldwater would start a nuclear war. So just what does it take to earn the big chair in the Oval Office?

Perry Out, Endorses Newt Gingrich. So… What Happened?

Texas Governor Rick Perry has bowed out of the GOP primary race. This morning he announced he is done and asked his supporters to throw their weight behind the campaign of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

Perry splashed onto the primary scene with a lot of promise and this was shown in how easily he raised money. Almost immediately upon entering the race Perry rivaled the big money that Mitt Romney was gathering, far outpacing the fundraising of all the other candidates combined excepting Mitt. A lot of people had great expectations for Rick Perry.

He started his campaign on the right foot, too. He had a great record of jobs creation and one of his initial planks was to knock Washington down a peg.
