The U.S. Senate background bill failed to secure the needed 60 votes to prevent a filibuster yesterday, defeating the entire Obama gun-grab-control agenda. Obama appeared after the vote in the White House Rose Garden with Gabrielle Giffords and some of the parents of the Newtown shooting victims to scold the senators. Even Harry Reid changed his vote to a NO on the proposal submitted by Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) which would have tightened restrictions on private gun sales. The vote is seen as a victory for the Second Amendment, as well as for advocates of the National Rifle Association. Even Obama has been forced to admit that the current legislation would probably do nothing to stop another mass shooting as that which took place last December at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The White House likes to use policemen as props for Barack Obama speeches, but a new poll shows that police oppose the U.S. Senate gun control plan. Some 15,000 policemen were polled by PoliceOne.com and the results are not good for Harry Reid and the Democrats pushing to rewrite the Second Amendment in the vain hope of curbing gun violence. Of those polled, 95% said that outlawing high-capacity magazine clips would not help. Also, 71% said that banning military-style, semi-automatic ′assault rifles′ would have no effect. Indeed, 20% said that doing so would have a negative effect on public safety! Meanwhile, Senate RINOs, like Pat Looney-Toomey and Lindsey Graham-cracker appear ready to sell-out the American people and the Constitution, once again. When will the voters wise up?

Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) floated a memo to her fellow Democrats on the Senate Budget Committee outlying the need for ′revenues to be included′ in their federal budget outline. This comes as House Republicans passed a measure extending the debt ceiling for four months under the condition that the Senate Democrats must pass a budget, something they have not done in about 1367 days. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), head of the House Budget Committee, will be sending a budget proposal shortly that will balance the budget within 10 years. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) has been blocking any budgets from being passed in the Senate, but may be ready to let one go through now. Especially since Murray, Barack Obama, and he are all committed to raising more tax revenues. Also, as part of the new debt ceiling agreement, paychecks for members of Congress will be held in escrow until a budget is passed.

The Government Accounting Office, GAO, issued its annual report of the financial state of the federal government and the news was not good. Barack Obama is bankrupting America, burying us and future generations in unsustainable debt. The results of their report are admittedly incomplete, as their audits of several major federal departments, such as Defense or Health and Human Services, proved to be lacking. The bottom-line, however, is that we are at least $18.8 Trillion dollars in the hole! Perhaps this is why the German bank has demanded that our Federal Reserve Bank hand back some 300 tons of gold? Is our dollar destined to collapse?

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, when Stephen Moore interviewed John Boehner about the Fiscal Cliff negotiations, Barack Obama told Boehner that, ″We don′t have a spending problem.″ Obama explained to the Speaker of the House that the cause of the National Debt and budget deficits stem from a ″health care problem″, which Obama claims to have solved with ObamaCare. When Boehner tried to convince Obama that Washington does indeed have a ″very serious spending problem″, Obama′s retort was, ″I′m getting tired of hearing you say that.″ So is it any wonder that Boehner gave up trying to talk any sense and negotiate a deal? And is it any wonder that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will attempt to act with Obama and continue to push for more tax increases?

The Fiscal Cliff 2013 plan from Barack Obama must be a joke, considering how Mitch McConnell openly laughed at it! Yes, that is what happened when Obama sent Treasury Secretary Timothy Giethner to Capitol Hill to present the White House plan to Senate and House Republicans. Speaker of the House John Boehner has all but said now that the Fiscal Cliff talks have completely stalled. The problem is that Barack Hussein Obama does not want to do any spending cuts at all while he demands that tax rates be raised. Obama also wants to do another round of stimulus spending and wants the authority over the nation′s debt limit transferred permanently from the Legislative Branch to the Executive Branch. This as we face maxing out our current debt ceiling by February, if not sooner. Meanwhile, the clocks ticks away as Tax-ageddon approaches on January 1st.

Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, struck yet another low blow against Mitt Romney saying that the presidential candidate is ″not the face of Mormonism.″ Reid, a Mormon himself, went on to agree with Gregory A. Prince, another Mormon critic of Romney who wrote in his blog recently that Romney has ″sullied″ their religion. We′ve all been wondering just when the Democrats would start playing the ′Mormon Card′ on Romney? Bill Clinton played it a couple of weeks ago telling an audience how the Mormons tried to recruit him, but Clinton did not care for their version of how Heaven operates. And then there is the Liberal Media, where MSNBC′s Lawrence O′Donnell has been trying to connect Romney to polygamy.

The Nevada Journal ran the numbers and found that the $1.3 billion dollars the Barack Obama administration has spent in Nevada on green energy has only created 288 jobs. That means that each green energy job created by federal subsidies costs us taxpayers $4.6 million dollars each. This revelation comes as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid hosts a Green Energy Summit in Nevada. Reid wants to close down a coal-burning power plant, despite the fact that green or renewable energy costs 400% more per kilowatt hour than coal, oil or natural gas power plants for producing electricity.
