Liz Cheney Running for President in 2012?

When Liz Cheney said “Think Cheney 2012″ on the last FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace – the panel in the studio and lame stream media later assumed she was talking about her father – former VP Dick Cheney. Everybody took the bait – and got caught in… sexism. She did not say “Think Dick Cheney 2012”. It never occurred to the Good Ol’ Boys in the media that Liz Cheney was hinting about a possible run of a Cheney in 2012… like in “Liz Cheney 2012″. Why not? The lady is extremely smart and has a whooping resume that tops Hillary and Sarah if you put them together.
Let’s take a look at who Liz Cheney really is , besides the fact that she is a daughter of her father. Can Liz become the American Angela Merkel?

Americans Living Abroad will be Penalized by the Senate Version of Obama’s Health Care Bill

According to recent estimates by the U.S. State Department, there are 6.6 million Americans living overseas.
Obama’s health care reform will tax them for not holding US health insurance the excise tax of $750 a year. Organizations of ex-pats all over the world are currently protesting the Obama’s tax on Americans living abroad. The House Health Care Bill exempted the ex-pats from paying the tax. This is not the case in the Senate Bill.
Here is the list with the frequently asked questions by Americans living abroad answered by AACI /Association of Americans and Canadians living in Israel
1. I participate in Medicare – will I still have to pay the excise tax?

As of this writing, Medicare is not specifically named as one of the approved health care plans. Therefore we suggest you fax your objections to the excise tax.

2. If a citizen living abroad pays the $750 will they be covered when in the U.S. on visits?

Payment of the excise tax will not cover you in the US; you will get no insurance benefit for paying this tax. The excise tax will be a penalty you pay for not participating in one of the authorized health plans. You will still need to purchase travel insurance.

3. Is that amount the same for everyone regardless of income? If someone is a student, retiree, child, otherwise unemployed still required to pay it?

The excise tax mentioned in the Senate bill will be the same for everyone.

Senate to Start Debate on Health-care Bill (Live Video)

On Saturday night Harry Reid is scheduled to hold a vote that would then start debate on the Health-care bill that will include a public option. This is just a procedural issue right now, but it is an important step for Reid to overcome. Right now it looks like Nelson, Lieberman and Landrieu are going to vote to allow debate to start. It is not clear whether Sen. Lincoln from Arkansas will so vote, she has not yet made her intentions clear, but I think she is leaning towards allowing the debate to start.

Even if we loose this opening salvo these 4 Democrats have stated large reservations about this bill and at least two of them have stated that they will not vote for any plan with a public option. We only need one of them to vote against cloture to stop the bill and I think we have a pretty good chance of that happening.

Recent Polls - Obama Polls, Senate Races, Congress, Presidential Job Approval

New lows for “Obama on the Economy” and “Obama on National Security.”

More signs of stability today for job approval. The nicest part of doing this job is when my thoughts are confirmed by data from other sources. The data from Fox News, Quinnipiac and PPP clearly confirms the downward trends within the data.

We have several new records.

1. All-time low for the 30-day trend for the “approval index” … -10.74% !!!!!!
2. All-time low for the 30-day trend for overall approval for men … 43.88% !!!!!!
3. All-time low for the 30-day trend for overall approval index for men … -11.38% !!!!!!
4. The second time that the 30-day trend for overall approval for men has been less than 44%!!!!!!

You may access this data via the links below.

This page on political polls and analysis will be updated daily so bookmark it and return frequently for updated information. The data will grow over time to include sections on key 2010 Senate race polls, 2012 presidential polls, and the data you see today.

What we have now is an analysis of Rasmussen data as it pertains to Barack Obama’s job approval rating on a 3-day basis and on a 7-day basis, public opinion of his performance on the Economy and National Security, healthcare weekly updates, the generic congressional ballot, trust on the issues on ten issues and trust on the issues regarding healthcare alone.

Sarah Swings Back at Barack. Palin’s strategy: Attack Obama on All Fronts

Sarah Palin’s book tour is turning into bashing of President Obama’s policies. The Former Alaska governor sounded quite peaceful in the overture of the media coverage that happened on Oprah, who is President’s best friend in the media world.
The cat fight that many expected did not happen and the crowds hungry for entertainment had to wait for the first act to get some raw meat. Things were a bit different when Sarah Palin opened up to Barbara Walters.
Republican Vice-Presidential nominee signed Barack Obama’s report card on economy when asked by the host to grade his work on a scale from one to ten – with ten being best.

“There are a lot of decisions being made that I — and probably the majority of Americans — are not impressed with right now,” Palin said. “I think our economy is not being put on the right track, because we’re strayed too far from, fundamentally, from free enterprise principles that built our country. And I question, too, some of the dithering, and hesitation with some of our national security questions that have got to be answered for our country. … So, a four.”

A four? We learned Sarah Palin is a tough grader. We also learned that President Obama is likely to score poor on Palin’s chart if he does not follow Gen. McChrystal’s advice on increasing troops in Afghanistan - she told ABC’s Barbara Walters

Landrieu to Vote with Dems on Filibuster?

It was posited on this site (by me) that Mary Landrieu would be ‘encouraged’ to vote with the rest of the Dems against a filibuster because the party would provide some pork for Louisiana.

Today, ABC reported that the Senate added a provision to the bill that gives Louisiana $100 million. It’s sort of an interesting addition to the bill; any state in which EVERY county (parish) has been declared a major disaster area by the President within the last 7 years is eligible for increased medicaid subsidies. Well, in an astounding coincidence, only Louisiana qualifies.
