Malik Nadal Hasan: Muslim Terrorist Challenges Obama’s Timidity

We know now that Major Malik Nadal Hasan was a Muslim domestic terrorist who wreaked havok on Fort Hood, Texas. Discuss your feelings on this topic, and more broadly our President’s attention to domestic terrorism as we view a video report of the carnage.

Why are we able to so easily label Malik Nadal Hasan a terrorist? The fact speaks for itself. He is just as much a domestic terrorist as Timothy McVeigh was labeled so for his heinous act in Oklahoma City. And while McVeigh perpetuated his act from afar in silence, Malik Nadal Hasan shouted anti-American political views at his victims as he mowed them down with automatic weapons.

Dan Halloran is Pagan New York City Councilman

NY-23 wasn’t the only race on Tuesday night in New York, city residents also voted to fill a vacant city council seat to work alongside that bastion of conservatism Mike Bloomberg. A Republican won the seat; Dan Halloran became the first openly pagan city councilman.

dan hallorman

Dan Halloran became a city council member for New York’s 19th district despite having one thing going against him that his opponent tried to use. Dan Halloran is a pagan, an openly practicing pagan who worships Oden and other Norse gods. All of you comic book buffs out there know Oden as the father of Thor. Maybe he helped Dan Halloran bring it home on Tuesday.

Christopher Balfe, the President of Mercury Radio confirmed that Beck was indeed rushed to the hospital and is now recovering fine. In the funniest statement of the day Balfe said “before going under Glenn asked the doctor to draw out the surgery procedure on a blackboard.” Beck is hilarious, even before going into surgery.

2009 Election Results - What it all Means

So, as we sit here 24 hours after the 2009 election, what exactly does this all mean and portend for the next 12 months? I think there are 2 big take-aways from this election: The Obama name has lost some of it’s shine (e.g. the Democrats are not going to be the new permanent majority) and that the Republican party has some issues they need to work out . . . bear with me on that last one.

First, it’s pretty clear that, to some limited extent, that this was a referendum on the job that Obama has (or rather hasn’t) been doing, despite the Wapo’s protest. The economy is obviously the one thing on everyone’s mind and it arguably has not gotten a lick better with the election of Obama. Yes, Obama will continue to blame this all on George Bush, but in reality, people are starting to think that line is pretty lame, at some point Obama has to own this mess and I think a year after his election is probably enough time. A 20 point swing in Virginia and a 5 point win in very blue New Jersey is a pretty fine point, people are not happy and, to some extent, they blame Obama.

Mauricio Fernandez Announces Death of Political Rival Hours Before Body Found

Sometimes don’t you just wish you could keep your mouth shut? That’s what Mayor Mauricio Fernandez has to be thinking today after he announced the death of his political rival hours before the man’s body was found. Mauricio Fernandez made the shocking announcement as he was being sworn in for another term as Mayor of San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico.

san pedro garza garcia

The problem with Mauricio Fernandez dropping such a bomb about the death of his political rival was the fact that the barefoot, blindfolded body wouldn’t even be found by authorities for another 4 hours. Not only had the body not been found, but it was found hundreds of miles away. It’s not like the body was in his neighborhood and he saw it leaving for work that morning.

Obama National Security Polls: Obama Polls on National Security

On November 5, 2009, Scott Rasmussen released his weekly poll covering President Obama’s approval on the National Security. The survey was taken on November 3 and November 4.

The surveys were interesting. Let me explain.

Over the course of this year, the President’s approval on National Security, after a strong start, has been consistently in the 40%’s. There were a few increases that are within the MOE and so we can assume that his approval had settled in the mid- to low-40% range. This week had an insignificant increase.

To eliminate statistical noise, I have added two new charts. These charts include averages for the previous four weeks. This data should show trends more easily.

Read below to see the trends.
